I cannot say enough great things about these guys! Our family has been using them for years. But most recently I had to take my vehicle there for A LOT of work. Dave was AMAZING he communicated with me everyday. He even would make sure I knew what was being said so I could relay to my dad, even offered to call my dad. On top of that he ordered me the correct tires for my vehicle and didn’t charge me the difference because of how much he didn’t like my old tires and how much work I was getting done.
I will always use them and always recommend to deal with Dave!

My husband and I were having problems with our car. We found that Progressive Auto is the most honest repair shop around. David is super knowledgeable and explained in detail about what was going on with our car, Thank you so much they are amazing!

I have been going to Progressive Automotive and Tire on Commerce Parkway in Fredericksburg, VA, for the past three years for standard maintenance issues and, more importantly, the always unexpected serious problems that come up. I have always relied on the expertise provided by the front office staff of Jay, Dave, and Kelli. A few days ago, my car developed a very scary braking issue at all speeds (shaking, rattling, etc.). I went to Progressive, explained the problem and asked them to test drive the car on the highway. Dave pretty much already had a good idea of what my problem was, but they did the test drive anyway. Problem confirmed, the shop took on the job. Within 24 hours, my car was repaired. I immediately took it out for a spin. My 22 year old Toyota now drives like a limo, and I have been spoiled by the professionalism and talent at Progressive. I telephoned Progressive after the fact to personally thank Dave for his expertise and the mechanics who did the job. I very strongly recommend Progressive located on Commerce Parkway. After my three years of doing business with them, I would not go anywhere else for automotive advice and repairs.

Sloppy work.
Been using progressive exclusively for my 3 cars for that last 3 years. In the beginning they were good.
Last year or so…..spilling oil on my Lexus under carriage which leaked all over my driveway; getting grease stains on seats and roof in all my cars; they just did a safety inspection…charged me for it and never put the sticker on the truck and that was after they had it for 2 days. Plus they seem completely unconcerned by it. To top it off the tech that did the inspection and failed to do his job and put the sticker on the truck….thought the whole thing was funny. No concerns over the poor job. Will be taking my business elsewhere….and I am sure they could care ZERO. Mike.

Matt and crew went above and beyond in repairing the tire on my car. Plugged. Replugged. Patched. Then heavy duty truck patched! Most places would give up and just make you purchase a new tire. Thank you Matt and Progressive Automotive in Fredericksburg!

Folks at Progressive Automotive & Tire are one of the best maintenance folks in the Fredericksburg area located off of Highway 17.
This team consists of consumate professionals with outstanding customer service and technical skills led by Dave and Jay.
I felt like as if a friend was fixing our vehicles. They will not steer you into paying more. Recommendations are already added to the overall pricing, which makes it easier and stress free when making those hard decisions.
If you're new to the area and your vehicle requires maintenance, safety check, and preventive maintenance. Progressive Automotive & Tire will get them done right! Thanks, Dave & Jay!

We were experiencing low power, a chugging motor, and a check engine light on our beloved 18 year old GMC Yukon. Neither the dealership nor another automotive shop had any clue as to the reason and were prepared to charge us $$$ for additional diagnostics.
Not starting with our friendly, neighborhood Progressive auto shop was a mistake we won't repeat again. They were able to quickly identify the issue (bad injector on a cylinder), ordered the part, and installed it all within a very short time frame. Our vehicle is running better now than she has in years and we are making Progressive our "Go To" auto shop from now on!

Stop second guessing and go to Progressive!! We've been taking our cars to Progressive for years for both routine and unexpected maintenance and recommend them to everyone we know! We refuse to go anywhere else. In fact, we drive 35 minutes north because they are worth it! They are honest, trustworthy and upfront. Their staff is always so kind and helpful. They literally go out of their way to take care of you and educate you and never once have I felt like they were trying to upsell me or add on services. They tell me exactly what I need and nothing more. This week I had a check engine light pop on and when I called they immediately got me set up for an appointment, took their time to explain what the codes were and what the problem was, made sure I understood and had me fixed and back out the door in under an hour! All while I waited in their comfortable and cozy waiting room. I can't recommend them enough!! Do yourself a favor and call them!

I take all four of my vehicles to Progressive auto care. They’re busy for a reason. Everybody on staff is incredibly knowledgeable about all of my cars and truck. From a big diesel 3500 Ram to a 25 year old Mercedes, these folks instill confidence that you will walk out knowing you’ve brought your car to the right shop. Progressive even goes out of there way to save you money when a more unscrupulous repair shop, or dealer might take advantage if an opportunity arose. As a returning customer, I have come in a couple of times with no appointment and they have accommodated me. Not saying that’s standard, but it’s good business, by good people. You can bring your vehicle to Progressive auto with no worries.
