This was perhaps the best shoe-buying experience ever. I was visiting from out of town and wanted to buy my son a last essential item, a good pair of running shoes, before he launched into self-supporting adulthood. We got plenty of attention, and after trying four pairs, he found one that exceeded his expectations for comfort, performance, and style. As a bonus, he found out about upcoming races and running groups where he could connect and feel less like a stranger in a new town. I know he’ll definitely be back, and who knows — maybe I’ll make the trip from Virginia Beach to get myself a pair next time!

Gabby was incredibly helpful. Even though I was just trying to find that perfect fit and not intending to purchase that day she went above and beyond as if I was there to purchase a million dollars worth of shoes. She is very informed and knowledgeable on so many different types of shoes and educated me on other issues I needed to know about my own feet. She is a tremendous asset to this business and I cannot recommend enough for anyone looking to purchase running shoes to go see Gabby at Lucky Road Run Shop. You will be glad and confident you did!

Unmatched customer service. Can tell that the employees care about the customer and their performance. They give great deals out to school runners. Really encouraging the young to continue to run and provide equipment for those who may not be able to afford it

I have been going to Lucky Road since I began half marathons in 2017. They fit me with my first pair of shoes back then, and will continue to be my "go to" store for running shoes. Chris, and the staff, are very knowledgeable and listen to the issues you may be having. Feet change over time and I have always come out with a good pair of shoes, or two.

In training for the Richmond Half, I’ve had concerns with a persistent blister on my left medial heel but only after 5-6 miles or longer. I discussed with Rachel what I’ve been doing to try to prevent worsening of what was already there. She recommended sticking with the same shoe model but upgrading to their stability version. I’m happy to report that after our 12 miler yesterday in those new shoes, but keeping the rest of my routine normal, I did not notice the blister in any fashion. I know the true test will be in 2 weeks on race day, but this is why I continue to recommend Lucky Road over franchise stores as every visit - at either location I’ve been to - I’ve felt listened to and my concerns recognized & addressed.

Everytime that I’ve been into this store, I’ve have a great experience. The staff are wonderful and knowledgeable. They have always suggested us great shoes for my husband and I. Based on our foot structure, injuries, if we’re standing all day vs running.I ordered a pair of shoes last weekend and went to pick them up yesterday. My mom just came into town and I brought her in with me. My mom is handicapped and has a really hard time putting her shoes on. April is the sweetest woman! She listed to my moms needs with what she needed with a shoe. Everything she recommended for my mom she loved. She even helped her put on every pair of shoes and laced them up for her and took them off until my mom found the perfect pair. She went above and beyond and I really appreciate how caring of a person April is.Highly recommend this shoe store!

Great experience at Lucky Road Run! I was welcomed by Corinne, who listened to my shoe needs and made excellent recommendations! The whole staff were warm and inviting, happy to engage without being pushy, and made me feel comfortable shopping. The store is passionate about their work and the people they serve. Highly recommend!

The staff is patient, kind, caring and knowledgeable. They know feet. They have an excellent assortment of inserts. And are very knowledgeable about which ones will work for your particular feet. Excellent customer service!

Ended up buying more than I went in for ... but was not pressured in any way. The employee was very patient & helpful, and he was very informed regarding local running events. I assume they have a lot of purchases for high school athletes because he was equally aware regarding high school meets and schedules.
