A good price-performance ratio. That's why I booked but also because this hotel is pet friendly. Surprise at the counter: A $75 fee for the dog! Their website mentions the possibility of additional fees, but $75 is very expensive! The website should mention this.Rooms: Propre et bien entretenue.

We've enjoyed staying at the Hyatt Place in Fredericksburg many times in the past, even staying there almost a month when we moved a few years ago.Imagine our surprise to find a $283.25 smoking charge levied to our account after checking out from a recent stay. We don't smoke, have never smoked, most definitely did not smoke in our room. I called the hotel management, certain this was an oversight and they would put it to rights, and even sharing my theory as to what happened (one of their renovation crew asked to enter our room as we were checking out, and I asked management to check their security footage to confirm someone from their staff entered my room after I checked out, but before the housekeeping crew would have entered). I spoke with Calvin Dobson in management, and he promised to look into it. We exchanged a couple of calls and one email, where he promised to look into my theory, but he has now not returned my latest call, leaving the charge on my credit card to pay and leaving me no choice but to contact Hyatt corporate with these details and my own credit card company to dispute, which I will be doing. Still, this has cost my own time and attention, not to mention the trust of a hotel location I'd enjoyed visiting in the past.I'm not sure if this is a one-time oversight of their own staff entering and exiting guests' rooms during this construction period, or if this is a scam Hyatt hotels are allowed to charge unauthorized fees and services since they have guests' credit card information on file, but whether the explanation is innocent or nefarious, the resulting charge to me is fraudulent. I did not smoke in their room, they provided no evidence to me of smoke in their room (no cigarette butts or ash trays would have been found since none were used) other than the housekeeper's word against mine.I suggest you avoid this location, particularly in the next few years as they do their construction, since their unregulated staff can't be trusted. The hotel is past its best at the moment, but I hope with new renovations and new management, others will have a happier experience than I have in future.

Took us over 15 minutes to find someone who worked there to check in. We tried calling the hotel multiple times and no one answered. Finally another guest informed us the lady who works the front desk was in the kitchen so found her there. First room had a horrible cigarette smell the second room had visibly dirty towels with hair on them, the sheets were turned inside out and smelled used. When we asked for new sheets we were informed we could come downstairs get them and change them ourselves…. Or get a third room. We opted to change the sheets ourselves since we were in a time crunch to meet with friends for dinner and didn’t want to play room roulette again. Like what? I’ve never had an issue like this at a hotel. Too bad because the hotel seemed nice in pictures.

This was my second time at this Hyatt when we take our son to school. First time, no problems. Very pleasant stay. Second time. just the opposite. Terrible experience from beginning to now over a week later. Four of us were taking my son to school. I booked TWO rooms months earlier using Hyatt's phone app., not a third party. When we arrived, we were told there was only ONE room booked. Thinking maybe I made a mistake, I found the original email confirmation from Hyatt that said I booked TWO rooms. Connie, woman at the desk, swore there was only one room for me and that there was ABSOLUTELY no other rooms available. Hotel was completely booked. So, other two family members had to scramble to find another hotel room somewhere. Connie was the one who called another local hotel. Our family had to be separated to two different hotels. When I checked out the next morning, I noticed TWO charges on my bank app. I asked why, since we were given only one room. Different woman at desk ensured me that I was only charged for ONE room. It's now been almost 10 days later, and I still have been charged two rooms. My phone bill bounced because money budgeted to pay other bills has been wrongly removed from my account. I have called Hyatt MULTIPLE times to be told that they would check into it and call me back. I was told that there was actually two rooms booked for us and no one can explain why I was told there was only one. But, that's after the fact and we only stayed in ONE. I should have NEVER been charged for two. For the FOURTH time today, no one has called me back. If an error was made, fine. Just acknowledge it, refund my money, and move on. I am not sure the reason for the refusal to take ownership. So frustrating to know this is how Hyatt would deal with this problem.

Stayed twice in the last week - Connie was a rock star each time, super helpful and welcoming. After a long drive each time, she was really amazing in checking us into the hotel and making sure we knew about the amenities. When so many hotels are available within a similar price point, it's people like Connie that help make the decision easier. Hotel is conveniently located and has everything needed within walking distance.

Great hotel! The rooms were clean, and the courtyard was great for sitting and enjoying time with friends that were also staying at the same hotel. Connie was at the front desk when we checked in and we loved her! Very friendly and informative. The hotel does have a bar which is oepn until 11pm and breakfast is also included in the morning. There is a grocery store and a liquor store in front of the hotel which is also very convenient.

Amazing staff! Large (very clean) rooms! Loved everything about this stay (2 days). Make sure you tell the front desk to not have housekeeping come (if you’re sleeping in) she may ignore the DND sign ?.

Been here twice already. A week each visit, months in between. Was just as great the second time! I don't have any notes since nothing stood out to me aside from the great service! Questions and requests are taken with care, and I've never experienced a single hiccup. Very clean. Productive atmosphere. Perfect for a work trip, or just a break from your typical study space. The laundry area is on the 3rd floor! Made use out of that.Appreciated the desk space. The ability to change the temperature was a plus. Window shades work as they should. Neat bathrooms. Couches were nice for lounging or laptop/tablet work. The air feels nice, especially compared to most places to stay at. Can hook up your gaming console to the Television to play games or open up your streaming service of choice. Very clean. I've never noticed almost anything, it was pleasant each time. Laundry space on the 3rd floor. Very good deal.Nearby activities: Takes a short drive to get into Old Town! Great nightlife and tons of events. Interesting shops to visit. Must see for anyone new to the area!Walkability: Strip mall with restaurants, a gym, grocery, and more!Food & drinks: Great service, even at later hours! If you're lost on how something works, just ask anyone and you'll be met with grace.

How things have changed. I originally posted shortly after this place opened a decade ago. Tonight, we go to check into our double queen room and they have no clean rooms available - at 9pm! We are not the only ones choosing to wait. 90 minutes later, as we wait, they offer somebody who just walked in aking with a rollout, while leeching is and 2 or 3 other families waiting. Cleaning crew issues are not our issues. Call in other crews of you need to. After this, it's doubtful we'll ever be back. Ridiculous.

MUST STAY!!! Beautiful clean rooms, peaceful, quiet, sleek! All your needs are here! Connie, the front desk/ bar face was a pleasant experience! She checked me in, served me all while multitasking the front desk and other guests. She made me feel at home and was there to listen when I wanted a quick shoulder to lean on. I would recommend a higher position for her if I may. CONNIE, thank you for being a vibrant, wonderful, sweet end to my long day!
