I have been a customer here for years and for years I have been amazed at how rude and indifferent all the the pharmacists and techs are to its customers. The only kind soul is the lady who works the register. Other Costco pharmacies are not like this. It’s unfortunate that our Costco has to have such a miserable department to work with that makes its customers feel so uncared about.

You know used Costco Pharmacy for over 30 years. No issues Also helpful and kind. On occasitions not in stock, but they text when it comes in the next afternoon by 1:00pm. Prices still are such a good deal and the last time was surprised when asked about Good RX they sure. Been my go to place for a long time.

Bait and switch, unfriendly staff. My dog had a Rx that needed to be filled prior to an upcoming surgery. Costco didn’t have enough pills, but since it needed to be started, they did a partial fill. I showed them GoodRx, which listed Costco as the cheapest (which is the only reason I went there for this Rx), went home with the partial fill, and picked up the rest today. They wanted to charge me nearly four times as much as the GoodRx app showed. I showed them the GoodRx again, and I had to go back to prescription drop off for it to be rebilled. The price came down, but still twice what GoodRx said. This has never happened to me before, but the Costco rep said, “these aren’t guaranteed prices, it happens all the time.” It would have been nice if she told me yesterday, then I wouldn’t have had Costco fill it, since Walgreen’s offers it cheaper. But I feel like they knew they could bait me with the partial fill, then gouge me with the higher price. Shame on Costco. Also, the women behind the glass are not helpful, and downright unfriendly. Rolling eyes and snotty attitudes are not appreciated. Costco is becoming less and less appealing to me.

Good prices but rude staff. The way one lady spoke to me was completely uncalled for. I understand they are short staffed but sheesh

The worst pharmacy I've ever dealt with. It's almost like they want there to be a problem, especially if you're trying to fill a prescription for a controlled substance. They've actually lectured me then called my doctor to lecture them about prescribing me medication. Not only did I feel grossly judged, but so did my doctor. Seriously, beware.

I feel like a number here. It's an assembly line. Whether you are dropping off a prescription or picking up you always feel like you are inconveniencing them. They have threatened that because several of our prescriptions are controlled substances that they won't fill any of our prescriptions if we move some to other pharmacies. How is that even legal? So to get a lower price on some we have to fill all of them here. When minor children turn 18 they no longer get membership discounts on medicine even though they are still in high school. I was told they'd have to get their own membership. What 18 year old high school student goes and buys a Costco membership? Some don't even have drivers licenses yet. The worst is that Flu shots are only offered from 11-5 Monday-Friday and if they are able on Saturday. This doesn't make sense as I called other Costco's in the State who all offer them until they close each day. They told me I could make an appointment during that time and I said I don't know how to do that when I work everyday until 5pm. I don't understand how it is acceptable to discriminate against everyone with jobs. Last year we got our flu shots at Costco while we were in Charlottesville and it was a completely different experience. They were friendly and so wonderful. I wish we had that here!

The staff here is absolutely wonderful! Other pharmacies in the area were rude and unhelpful, and the staff at Costco REALLY stepped up and were relentlessly kind and helpful (specifically Kasey and one other lady who I AM SO SORRY, but I did not catch her name! I will update this when I find out.). I have made the switch for all prescription needs in the future.

I haven't had a problem filling prescriptions here and found the staff helpful and polite. I see some reviews say they take forever to fill them but they give me a time usually after 2pm next day but if you ask for earlier they will offer you a new time.

They gave me a hard time over a medication that I was in dire need of. They take forever to fill prescriptions and staff is rude. Lady with clumpy mascara and the other one with thin, brown hair spoke to me rudely when all I wanted was my medicine. My doctor said that she didn’t understand why they would not fill it. It honestly made zero sense, but I’m happy I decided to just have it filled at Walgreens because they were able to do it in 20 minutes.

The stigma surrounding life saving medications is very real here. I work for a clinic in Manassas Park that specializes in Medication Assisted Treatment for OUD, which has been classified by the ADA as a protected disability, and for good reason. Overdose rates, especially during COVID, are at an all time high. I called on behalf of one of the patients who attends this clinic after voluntarily completing a 45 day inpatient treatment program. After having what I perceived to be a productive conversation with Sarah, the pharmacist on staff there, she explained that there was a local doctor who was prescribing a combination of pharmaceuticals that evidence shows has no positive impact on an individual’s recovery. However, when I asked if the patient in question was a patient of that prescriber, she said that he was not. So, in an effort to move the process along and ignore the discriminatory nature of this implication, I explained what the evidence showed and she said she understood and would push the prescription through for him. When he showed up to pick it up, they turned him away because he did not have a valid government issued ID. Now, anyone in the medical field who is also familiar with VA state law knows that valid government issued IDs are only necessary for CII prescriptions. The medication in question was a CIII. So despite having his insurance information, access to his health records, AND an expired ID, they would not release that medication to him. When I called back to find out what the deal was, Dot, another pharmacist on staff, told me that Virginia state law did indeed state that the law said this, but this was pharmacy policy and because “he had never been to this pharmacy before” he had to jump through unreasonable hoops and barriers that evidence shows has a significantly adverse impact on an individual’s recovery. Despite explaining that he had just left a 45 day inpatient program, had an appointment in December with DMV to renew his ID, and the high risk of overdose, they still refused to release the medication. Cold, callous, and completely unreasonable judgment on the part of the staff there. This poor guy is trying to get his life back on track, and they are standing in the way of that. I will not let this go. I will take this to the media and tell them exactly what I was told and it will impact the profits of not only Costco pharmacy, but Costco as a whole. Pharmacy staff should be ashamed of this behavior and their overzealous attitude toward ADA protected disabilities. The pharmacists here evidently do not value their jobs. They are going to end up out of work trying to overcompensate, and the consequences of their actions can, and ultimately will, lead to grave outcomes for their community members. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. “Power is dangerous. It corrupts the best and attracts the worst. Power is only given to those who are prepared to lower themselves to pick it up.“ Authoritarians.

Probably the worst pharmacy I have ever used. Every single time I come in there is an issue with them getting the correct insurance or having the correct meds ready. They will send you a text saying your meds are ready but an hour later your still waiting as they do not have them ready. My work only uses Costco but I'd rather spend more money and go somewhere else. Specifically Erica was super rude and out of line. Calling me names when she didn't think I could hear her to her coworkers. As someone who works in medical customer service I would NEVER treat my patients/customers the way she did.

While I am no longer a member of Costco (their tire center is horrid), I have started using the pharmacy lately for a few scripts that Costco has the best price on.

Average prices compared to other competitors. As member you should get better prices.

After my last experience there, I certainly won't be going back. Having health issues is hard enough without being judged by the people who are supposed to help you. The way this person spoke to me was completely uncalled for, and the worst part was that she made a comment about one of my medications loudly enough to be heard by everyone in line behind me. It was mortifying and completely unprofessional.
