We went here a week ago, and it was SO hot. Like it had to be in the 80s, minimally. The cashier mentioned there was a burning smell coming from the HVAC system, so they turned it off. I don't know how they were managing to work in those conditions. The employees were chatting with each other instead of paying attention to the customers, but given the circumstances, I can't say I blame them.

If you are a bookstore, I would expect you to carry more than 3 tiny sections of fiction. I would also expect to see books that cover all viewpoints. A bookstore is supposed to cover all areas to help open minds and educate people. That is no longer the case at BAM. I will not be going back.

Always love spending time in the store, but it was way too hot in there today, I was miserable. Would have spent more money had the environment not been so inhospitable.

So I stopped in the store to get my kids some books and my 6 year old asked me if I could get him a coin collecting kit. So I purchased that and several other items that came out to be $104.21. I then asked the cashier if I could get a few dollars in quarters so I can put them in the sleeves. The young person at the register was very nice and said he couldn't but he will get his manager and see if she could. The manager came out and said she could not help me she was not aloud to give change. I just spent 104.21 and you can't give me a few dollars in quarters when I tried to hand her a $5. She said no. I will not be shopping here again I have never been told I could not have some change when I have spent money at a store before. Terrible service from the manager

Up front, I love BAM and prefer it to B&N. BAM offers used books and buy back, which makes finding affordable books worthwhile.
A downside for this location, though, is that they open late at 10 am. I came here at 8:50 to work and realized they don't open till 10, but Barnes and Nobles around the corner opens at 9 am, which sent me to Barnes and Nobles. I work for a few hours and usually buy a book. This has happened a few times when I forget that BAM opens later. I've also met others outside the door looking at the hours around 9 am.
Past that, love this location and book store. Always clean, with a great selection and good used book section.

I have never been in a Books-A-Million until today and I have been shopping around Fredericksburg for years. When I walked in i immediately got coffee and Gwynn was the sweetest barista. From there I started to look around leaving obviously with Fourth Wing merch and spicy books and let me just say I love that they literally have a “spicy” section unlike Barnes & Noble who just mix the books around. Gwynn also helped me check out and sign me up for my membership she was so nice, professional and just a great overall person and so fun to talk to. I like it when an employee alone goes that extra mile to the point where I would literally just go back so I can talk to them again!

Great space, great book selections. Coupons and discounts aren't easily redeemed and don't expect a bag.

I am a major book worm and literally have memberships to all book stores. The staff at the store is amazing but the STORE ITSELF has the most basic selection I’ve ever seen. I have gone in the past two months waiting for them to restock my favorite manga’s with no luck. So I thought going online to order it would be a cinch but it was not. The wrong address was entered in so I wanted to update the information but because they already processed my payment it would not allow it, which is crazy because I have things delivered from other countries and don’t have this many issues with their websites. I then receive an email from their help desk which was not helpful because i was requested to provide my correct address and the hyperlink sent in the email takes me to the employee help desk log in. So I have no way of getting the books I ordered or processing a return so I’m out money and merchandise. I’m very unhappy and will not be returning to this store nor will I be renewing my membership.

I lost my receipt to fill out the survey for the wonderful cashier that checked me out. Kelly is fantastic and has such great energy. She was very polite and efficient and can't wait to visit this location. 10/10 customer service in my opinion.
