The food here is amazing. The owners are super nice also. We will definitely return time and time again. I had the chicken shwarma, and my wife had the falafel salad. We shared an order of the fries that were seasoned really well. Definitely worth a stop in!

Amazing and very welcoming. The man making our food did it with love and patience! Has so many different fragrances as well, they are reasonable priced and are well worth the money! Would recommend to anyone who loves real ethnic food.

If you want to have some of the best food around come to the Baghdad Mediterranean market. The owners, Safa and Omar, are super sweet and friendly. They have a wide selection of Mediterranean groceries and goods. Now let's move on to the food and man ... hands down the best Shawarma in this area if not in the nova area. We had some Turkish coffee and baklava while waiting, both were delicious. Safa's baklava just melted in my mouth. We brought home some hummus and my kids licked the tub clean. Safa and Omar have worked really hard on creating a cozy atmosphere in their shop and they nailed it perfectly. They offer both indoor dining as well as outdoor dining. From their fresh hot foods to the prepackaged foods this place is a new favorite of mine!

We were thrilled with everything!!I had been following this store for a while on Facebook and have seen several reviews in different local groups but we don’t get out often and I primarily prepare/cook our meals…but when I learned that everything is made without preservatives…I made it a point to stop in today on our way back from medical appointments. The sincerity of the owners/staff is amazing. Refreshing to have such wonderful customer service and experience. We ordered the Falafel special with Zatar fries and a Shawarma Wrap. Then I purchased different samples of their Baklava, have not tried but I’m sure it’s amazing.Portions were enough for us to split…and still had half of the wrap and yummy pickled veggies and fries for another meal.Hubby has already claimed for dinner which is fantastic because I don’t have to cook now.We got several of the other homemade treats, dates, fig cookies, puréed juices, etc.? HIGHLY RECOMMEND ?So friendly, well seasoned, and full of flavor. She even took the time to make up some tasting cups of their homemade sauces for us to try. Just WOW!

I recently had the pleasure of trying Turkish coffee at Baghdad Mediterranean Market for the first time, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience. From the aroma to the taste, every aspect of this traditional drink left me wanting more. The aroma of Turkish coffee is simply enchanting. As soon as the cup is placed in front of you, the strong and fragrant scent fills the air, instantly awakening your senses. It is a beautiful blend of earthiness and sweetness that is impossible to resist. Two choices are given, light or strong and I opted for strong and it did not disappoint. Taking the first sip of Turkish coffee is an experience like no other. The taste is bold and intense, yet smooth and velvety. The thick texture of the coffee coats your palate, allowing you to savor every sip. The flavor profile is complex, with notes of chocolate, nuttiness, and a hint of acidity. It is a coffee that demands your attention and invites you to indulge in its flavors.Overall, I highly recommend trying Turkish coffee to anyone who appreciates the art of coffee-making and enjoys a bold and flavorful cup of joe. It is a drink that transports you to another time and place, offering a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage. So, sit back, relax, and let the magic of Turkish coffee take you on a journey of taste and tradition.Oh and the owners offered me baklava to enjoy with the coffee to give a more of a sweet hint and I will be back for more. There are so many other things I want to try, mainly the falafel sandwich. I bought a very cute coffee cup set and it is so charming. The service was amazing and I love the smell of the different spices as soon as you walk in the door.

Bright & clean market! The service is prompt, friendly, and cheerful. We had excellent Ottoman Coffee & Baklava...and the Shawarma, Falafel, and Za'atar fries that we got for takeout were very flavorful! Thank you so much for being in Fredericksburg....we shall definitely return soon!

My friend and I have been wanting to try this place and today we did. We were not disappointed. I regret not getting photos (next time) but I will say if you love Mediterranean food, go to this place! it's a restaurant /market with 5 small tables but the food is amazing. I had the falafel sandwich on homemade pita bread. it was topped with tzakiki sauce, pickles, pickled onions and was absolutely delicious. We also got an order of fries with thyme and for this we were rewarded with 6 different bottles of different dipping sauces to try. The sauces ranged from a sweet bbq flavor, curry, a white garlic and a few spicy ones. I tried them all and didn't find one that I didn't like. We also did sides of tzakiki and hummus with an order of pita and that in itself was an experience. 4 huge pieces of homemade pita fresh out of the oven. You would think after eating all of this (there are leftovers) we wouldn't want dessert. You would be wrong. Do not leave without trying the baklava, pistachio and walnut - probably the best I've ever had. The prices are very reasonable. Go enjoy some delicious Mediterranean food and great customer service that won't break the bank!

This cafe/ market is such a wonderful addition to Fredericksburg! The owners are such a welcoming and kind family. They have the best baklava I’ve had in the US. The Turkish coffee and Shawarma are also amazing and made to perfection. A must try to experience authentic Middle Eastern taste and hospitality. ? ?

Great shawarma. chicken and beef/lamb, and falafel with the works were all delicious. Owner(?) took the time to prepare a tomato and sauce mix for the falafel for authentic Iraqi touch.

The gentlemen running the place were very nice and helpful. It is a small market with a restaurant and a small seating area.We had falafel for dinner and it was fantastic! It was possibly the best falafel that I ever had. I also loved all the sauces for the food. I didn't have room for dessert, but I plan to come back to try the baklava.

Saying the staff is nice is an understatement; they were INCREDIBLY welcoming and friendly. When I was at the register he offered me a sample of two pieces of falafel and offered to put some sauce on one of them (I completely devoured it all because it was delicious). After that, he gave me a small free water bottle along with free tzatziki sauce.Aside from the kind service, it is clear you can tell that all the food is extremely fresh. It is absolutely delicious and hot. Whenever I come here I always get naan and hummus (which is also made fresh) and you could never go wrong with that, but they manage make it 3x better than store bought.

Absolutely loved my experience at Baghdad Market! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The chicken shawarma was out of this world – perfectly seasoned and tender. The market's collection of Mediterranean spices and goods was a treasure trove for food enthusiasts. Another highlight was the five-star falafel, crispy on the outside and deliciously flavorful on the inside. The staff were incredibly friendly, making the visit even more enjoyable. Will definitely be coming back for more!
