Honestly this review comes as a surprise to myself because the time I was here it was alright... Except talking to other members and realizing we were paying 24 hour gym membership price and getting they're current closing at 11pm schedule. The facility isn't the most up to date. We canceled for many reasons but kept coming until our end date after getting charged an extra month, today the 27th April was our final day as we were told by Jared, Came into the gym and weren't allowed in though it'd be logical to respect the last day til COB... Also they'll always leave it too "corporate this corporate that" to justify themselves.

My family and I have been members for 2 years now and only became members for the swimming pool and all it's “water park features” for our child. Between the months of September and May we go 2-3 times a week to swim. over the two years it has become less and less of a family friendly gym and pool. Prior to water classes they shut off all the kids water zone 15 minutes prior to a class starting regardless of how many kids are playing and swimming in the kid pool. They remain off for the entirety of the class (between 45min-90min). Rude MEMBERS in the water classes tell kids 15 minutes prior to their class starting to get out of the community pool it’s their time for class soon. The family bathrooms/changing areas are never available because non-family members use the bathrooms to change before and after their classes. We have been made to wait up to 30 minutes to change out of wet swimsuits because children of opposite sex over the age of three can’t change in the opposite sex changing room with their parent or guardian. We have been yelled at by staff for doing that for lack of family bathrooms. Overall it is not a family friendly experience. I would recommend spending less money and going to the YMCA down the road that is actually family friendly and offers more kid friendly areas and activities.

Tried to cancel for 6 months. Haven’t lived in the state and was charged $595 when they can see i haven’t used their facilities.

Nice gym, but machines are outdated. And hours are limited on Fridays and weekends.

Non-judgmental and full of amenities! They have a dry sauna (segregated by changeroom), racquetball courts (three of them) and a lap pool, kids pool, and hot tub. Tons of machines and free weights, rooms for yoga and other classes. It's just nice overall.

Machines are usually broken. This location in particular is very cliquey. They have lots of equipment and the staff is friendly, it’s just the worst one as far as the VA locations go.

Absolutely love this gym! My family and I were looking for a gym with racquetball courts and found American Family Fitness, and I am so happy we did! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. There is a very good variety of equipment and all of the equipment I’ve worked with has been in good condition. I haven’t tried any of the classes or personal training yet, but am excited with their offerings. Then, of course, there’s the fact that they have racquetball courts! They also have basketball, pickleball, swim (lanes, wading, kids, and hot tub), dry saunas, and a CrossFit-style HIIT class called Fusion.I’ve been going for the last two weeks and was impressed that even during busy times there’s plenty of equipment (only had to redirect from the leg press while someone else was on it for a few minutes). The atmosphere is also incredibly inviting. I’ve quit/never started at a few gyms because the atmosphere is just off (judgmental, aloof staff, unkempt equipment), but here my family and I feel welcomed and there’s no “gym awkwardness”. I definitely recommend American Family Fitness if you’re looking for a gym!

This gym has it all!! They are very fairly priced, and have several different types of equipment. They have basketball and racquet ball courts and kids pool areas.

I canceled my membership back in June. They said I put it on a freeze, and promptly charged me $145 after the freeze was over. I called and told them there was a mistake me nor and member of my family have entered the facility in over 6 months. I was told there was nothing that could be done. I again went to canceled the membership and was hit again with another $145 charge. They are a money hungry company and should be ashamed of themselves

Back in June 2023 I canceled my membership so I thought. Turns out it was on a freeze. On Christmas of this year I was hit with a $145 dollar charge. I called customer service to see why I was charged. They told me that I was on a freeze not canceled membership. When I explained that was not what I intended. My intentions was to canceled my membership. They pretty much told me too bad. I then made sure I filled out the proper form this time. My cancelation was accepted. Just for them to charge me another $145. I find this predatory and very greedy for such a big company.

Have been coming here for a few months. Came from planet fitness. I pay 5x the planet fitness membership to go into a locker room that is never clean whereas pfit is always being cleaned and cleanliness is a top priority. Now i understand going to a gym that has hundreds of visitors a day may be difficult to keep clean but when i go into the bathroom paying 55 a month the last thing I want is toilet paper all over the floor and a bathroom that looks like it’s a motel 6 bathroom. While certain parts of the gym are definitely better than pfit I firmly believe customer retention is less about the machine more about the atmosphere and when the cleanliness is a bottom priority it’s hard to see that this location is serious about growing and retaining current customer base. I’m happy to be leaving this gym for a gym that is a little more expensive but has a much nicer and cleaner environment. All that said if you can look past the dirtiness I would recommend this gym and that is why I gave a 2/5 instead of a 1/5
