“I can only review their beer as it is what I buy from here. The beer here has a great selection of local and national craft along with some imports. All top notch and all very fresh..I don’t have to check the dates! I always get the mystery bags as they allow me to try new beer I might not pick for myself. Great local store!”

“We stopped in here because we were passing by and I was out of whiskey at home. For a small place, they have a great selection and the staff was really friendly and eager to help. Chuka was a delight to chat with and told us they do some tastings on Thursdays from 5 to 8 so we will definitely be back to check that out!”

The community here, led by Max and his dedicated team, is incredibly welcoming — it's like being part of a family. Sharing the exquisite Salton Wines from Brazil with such enthusiastic customers on a lively Tuesday evening was a delight. The shop's pet-friendly environment adds to the charm, making it feel like a slice of wine country right here in DC. “The perfect local market deli spot for fresh sandwiches, salads, and all the snacks. They also have a large selection of awesome beers and unique wines. Grab & go or relax inside or outside with the seating available - and you can enjoy a glass of wine or beer! They even do incredible catering - sandwich platters, brownie & cookies, and extravagant charcuterie boards. Great staff, great vibes.”
“This just became my new favorite sandwich spot…I would rate it 6 stars if I could! I got the Stadium sandwich on a sub roll and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Fresh bread, fresh ingredients, and super friendly employees make this a lovely gem in the Navy Yard area. Highly recommend!”
“A. Litteri is a classic -- small but mighty! They have a great assortment of fresh pastas, a tasty selection of Italian cheeses, and lots of fun condiments and such. (They also have what's supposed to be a terrific wine selection, but we haven't sampled that.) We even found fresh apple pie there for Pi Day. Nice, helpful people, too!”

“I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Amos who is currently employed at Calvert Woodley Fine Wines & Spirits. Amos provides excellent customer service with his polite and patient demeanor. He excels at matching a client’s budget with a choice of wine and champagne appropriate to the occasion. My daughter, Airlie, and her husband, Nicholas, from Chamonix, France, as well as her mother-in-law, were extremely impressed with his knowledge of champagne from the region, while still offering competitive price ranges. Hands down, Amos is my go-to person for a variety of social occasions!”

“I may have found my wine and cheese place.
John and Dani there are super knowledgeable - something I didn't expect stepping in. They let me sample some of the most amazing cheeses and even sample some wine. It's amazing to see their passion for the finer things in life while being so down to earth and helpful.
They packaged and labeled each cheese individually and described the overwhelming differences between the champagnes.
I got a great bottle of champagne there for a good price. Needless to say, I'll be back soon.”

“We cannot speak highly enough of the incredible team at Grand Cata. We are members of the wine club, and when planning our wedding knew we wanted to use our favorite neighborhood wine shop as our beer/wine/liquor caterer.
Their selection of beer, wine, and liquor was extensive (and delicious!!) and curated with care. Whether we were looking for a specific Gin or seeking recommendations for crowd-pleasing options, their expertise shone through. They took the time to understand our preferences and budget, ensuring that every bottle we selected was perfect for our celebration.
The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, from arranging a cocktail tasting to coordinating delivery and pickup. Their attention to detail was impeccable, and it truly felt like they were invested in making our wedding day unforgettable. “This family run business by the Basdin family has been around for decades. The liquor store started as a French wine store but has expanded and specialized into California and other areas.
Great selection of wines. The staff have been there for decades, specialize in diverse areas, and are immensely helpful. My personal preference over the otherwise excellent Woodley Park Liquors. Online ordering and pickup are a breeze.”
