$48 for a civ on a Sunday. $30 for 18 holes and $18 for a cart. Should be free judging by how awful the greens are! The course DOES NOT justify the cost. Dogwood Trace from here on out - so much better!!!

I’ve probably played this course 50 times over the past 23 years, and while there are many things I like about it; 3 different 9-hole courses and open layout, to name a couple, the one thing they’ve never been able to get right are their greens. After playing yesterday, I finally decided to post a review, in hopes of someone finally addressing the glaring issue that’s significantly impacting the playing experience.
First, it’s worth noting that almost all of the employee’s are wonderful, and I especially like the old school Marshalls that take their job seriously and understand the importance of proactively managing golfers to enhance everyone’s golfing experience.
Now, on to the heart of my review… Fort Gregg-Adams invested in Bentgrass greens, so the potential for excellence is there! These are the same greens that other top-notch course in the area have; Hermitage CC and The Highlands, to name two. I mention this to point out the aforementioned courses share a hardiness zone with The Cardinal. The only difference is the superintendent’s attention to the greens and desire for excellence, or lack thereof. Seriously, for at least the last year, the greens were so thick I felt like I was playing at Pebble Beach in 1963, when Nicklaus played Snead on the Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf! I’d estimate the stimp, albeit inconsistent, was ~ 6 or 7. Yes, it was THAT bad, and actually made the round beyond frustrating, to put it mildly.
Again, my main concern, and reason for posting this isn’t to complain just to complain. To the contrary, the bent grass investment was already made, and the only thing keeping The Cardinal from being great is the lack of attention, and apparently a lack of either knowledge or desire to achieve excellence. Granted, there were many diseased spots on the green, and that certainly needs to be addressed as well, but for the most part the entire issue could be resolved if they simply rolled the greens and focused on keeping them ~ 10 on the Stimpmeter.
Keeping all the greens waaaaaayyyy too tall just to keep from killing the grass isn’t the answer. That works for lawns, but not golf course greens.

I am a big fan of the rotating course layout. Having multiple sets of 9 holes to play a round of 18 keeps things fresh.

I had the pleasure of playing a round at Fort Gregg-Adams Golf Course, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. The clubhouse provides a comfortable and inviting space to relax after a round, with a great selection of food and beverages.One aspect that stood out to me was the pace of play. Despite the course's popularity, the rounds moved smoothly, and I never felt rushed or held up.Whether you're a seasoned golfer or a casual player looking for a scenic and enjoyable day on the course, Fort Gregg-Adams Golf Course is definitely worth a visit. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning for another round soon!

I have been playing at the Cardinal Golf course for about two years. It is nice having three 9-hole courses to play from and it is affordable. Each course has its own challenges and a mixture of easy and difficult holes. The conditions of the fairways and greens vary from fairly good to not-so-good. Many sections of the cart paths are suffering from root impingement and the on-course restrooms are often inoperable. The staff, from the front desk to the starters and marshals have always been helpful and friendly.
