“Fort Belvoir Commissary is truly exceptional. Their deli selection is top-notch, and the salad bar offers fresh choices. The sushi is a surprising bonus, and what sets them apart is the immaculate cleanliness and well-stocked shelves. It's easily one of the best Commissaries in the world. Highly recommended!”

“A good place to shop in Alexandria.Trader Joe’s is a popular grocery store that offers quality products. The store idea was born in 1958 as a small chain of Southern California convenience stores opened by a drugstore executive named Joe Coulombe. They changed their name in 1967 and as of January 2024, there were around 564 Trader Joe's stores across the United States with several in the DC area. This particular store is located at the corner of Asaph and Pendleton Streets in Alexandria. It has a parking lot that is right out one of the store doors. There are a limited number of parking spaces inside the building but seemed enough on the day that I visited. The store entrance had displays outside in the parking area. The store was well-lit and busy but, for the amount of traffic, it was amazingly clean and well-stocked. It is a small store but seemed to have a good selection of items from fruit to wine with gluten-free as well as other dietary options. Checkout utilized a line and one of the staff members directed you to one of the many open lanes. Prices are higher than some other stores like Publix but for the economy, location, and quality they are reasonable. Overall, it was a pleasant shopping experience in the heart of Alexandria.”

“I have been shopping at Mom's since it first opened. I'm never disappointed. The only challenge I ever encountered was when the store was expanded and I needed to relearn the location of items. Thank you for being such a superb store!”

“Huntsman Square Giant is one if the best grocery stores I’ve frequented! The staff is excellent, from the seafood/meat counters to floral and checkout, and always good for a laugh! The manager, Jason, is a really nice guy and he keeps the store in impeccable shape. The smell of bread baking across the hall at Subway follows you well into the store, and there is a big open area where you can get your steps in on a rainy day, sit down and eat, or check out the comics store. There’s also a Starbucks in the square if you want to grab coffee before you shop. 10/10 shopping experience overall!”

“It's an excellent little grocery store & a mini restaurant which has a fantastic selection of authentic Azerbaijani, Georgian, Turkish, Moldovan and Russian food, including some very hard to find items. For example, they have Georgian Suluguni cheese, Turkish coffee and sweets, a phenomenal assortment of baklava, Russian candy and chocolate, and Moldovan and Georgian wines, such as Saperavi, in gorgeous hadnmade bottles. They have a Georgian chef who cooks the food that they serve. There isn't much space there but it still has a seating area for about a dozen people, and it's very cosy there.”

“I love this store. It may look small but it will have most of what you’re looking for. Always clean and well stocked. The staff is very helpful. Just know that the parking is underground and a little tight.”

“Fantastic food, the flavors had something that added a tanginess, which I haven't tasted at the restaurants in Silver Spring. Highly recommend and for me, worth a drive from MD!”

“I Actually Love This Trader JOE’s ? My First Time Coming To Trader Joe’s Was 7 Months Ago, When I Relocated To The Area. I’ve Loved It Ever Since! The Items Are So Easy To Find, The Workers Are So Friendly & Helpful, & The Cashiers Are Friendly And Efficient! The Parking Lot & The Line Stays Busy - But It Moves Fast!”

“I love Lidl. It reminds me of living overseas in Germany, and I think other shoppers also appreciate the European feel the store has to it. Today Lidl was exploding with pumpkin spice everything in every aisle, signaling the office start to fall. I almost picked up some pumpkin spice Kefir, but I don’t love all the sugar the flavored Kefir’s contain.(UPDATE) Some people don’t love how cold it gets down the meat and cheese aisle, but on this hot Labor Day it was a welcome retreat from the heat. Since the temperature has dropped in the last week it feels a lot colder in the store and I noticed employees wearing fleeces today (9/10)A trip to Lidl generally doesn’t allow me to check off everything on my shopping list, but I can get a majority of what I need here. Also, pay attention to prices because not everything is less expensive at Lidl, which tends to carry more brand name items than Aldi.(UPDATE) I bought the enameled cast iron Dutch Oven in the picture today for $24.99 after the $5 rebate with the Lidl app. Pretty excited. They had lots of colors and different sizes when I went, but I’m sure they’ll go fast.”

“I love the selection of fresh produce and bread, and harder to find spices. I appreciate the service also. My favorites are Ahna and Lily, who are both helpful, friendly, and kind. Will be sure to return again and again.”

I recommend going here first before going to the doctor. The products-and literature available here are the best available. Thank you for providing to the community.”

“Finally. A Thai grocery store that carries what we need and isn’t too far of a drive. This place is by far the cheapest so far and, the staff is really nice. We also bought a massive bag of sticky rice which isn’t pictured.”

“The place is a little uncomfortable to eat what you buy since it is super small but that is compensated by the quality of the food, the chicha is delicious and the golfiao is super... it takes you to the local Venezuelan food, I recommend buying and take it, it's super small in there. Excellent atention.”

“I’m not usually impressed by many grocery stores, but this Wegman’s is pretty awesome. It’s big and has a little, or a lot, of everything. There is a deli with all kinds of food you can purchase and eat in the store. They have an incredible selection of cheeses and beers. The produce selection was very good too. If you’re in the Woodbridge area check it out; you won’t be disappointed!”

“This store always has the necessary groceries that I am shopping for and the prices are reasonable. Only issue is there are no spaces to leave your shopping carts in the parking lot.”

“Decent location but they didn't carry the one item I've never had a problem finding at any other TJ's location that was my whole reason for going to this one. They still have most of the standard TJ's products though.”

“Smaller than Fort Belvior, but well stocked and clean. I’m in between locations, so I will probably utilize this one more because it seemed to be a lot less busy, and it opened earlier.”

“My first time here. Amazing place. All the brand name items along with their generic items. Excellent bakery, deli, seaford section. I went with my brother who is retired military. You have to be on active duty or retired military to shop at the commissary and the Exchange.”

“A bit on the smaller side but I had several specific items I needed, and going in as a non Asian I was able to easily find and procure everything I needed. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious!”

“Thank God, we have this store around here, we can find a lot of stuff from back home! The whole family loves this please , the owner and they were couple other people that worked there that were quite friendly. However, they hired a new girl that first of all knows nothing about the store, or products, or what they offer, sell their, second she is not friendly, talkative, or god forbid you ask where anything is….. she just stairs like you are talking a foreign language. Despite that we love this store and we try to avoid going there when she is there.”

“My family and I come here a lot and they have the freshest groceries, EXCELLENT Customer Service and all your desi needs in a one stop shop. This establishment really makes you feel at home. The uncle with the glasses is so nice and so kind hearted, the butcher is so patient and does a clean job with the meat. Great place!”

“I went to check out the market and discovered that it was also a very reasonably priced takeout/cafe. My $14.63 got me two vegetable lumpia ($1.19 each), a two item combo of crispy pork and a beef stew ($9), and a slice of sapin sapin ($3.25) for dessert. A great place to try Filipino food.”

“Come here for your West African ingredients, from canned foods, through Kenkey to bread and pastries. They stock a variety of items for your typical cuisine. Apparently they also provide remittance services and sell international call cards. I had to pass through to get my Kenkey (Fante and ga) before I travelled back home.”

“Overall this location has some solid organic finds in produce for a good price. Great price on pasture raised eggs. The price for organic meat is decent too - on par with Costco and BJs for organic produce. This location is cleaner and better than some other Aldis.”

Aldi's commitment to providing budget-friendly options while maintaining high standards is truly commendable. The store's layout is efficient, creating a streamlined shopping experience. The smaller selection of products compared to larger supermarkets actually makes the decision-making process easier. The checkout process is swift, thanks to their no-frills approach. “Found this market / restaurant and got their Awaze Tibs. Let me just say it’s like mommas cooking. Make sure you get the 100% Tiff ethiopian injera. Better than the watered down wheat based injera.”
