This was a fun family style winery. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The wines are locally produced on site. They have games on Friday evening, playing Trivial Pursuit. This is a team event and loads of fun. Pack some sandwiches and come for a fun time. They do have for purchase cheese and crackers.
From a family-owned apple orchard to a vineyard, the Higgs family has been cultivating this land for generations. The tasting room is built from an old apple packing shed that was on this site from the 1890's. Barren Ridge is a modern winery featuring award winning wines in the European style and has one of the best views of the Shenandoah Valley! Come out and relax, sip some wine, and take a moment out of time.
