Poulston’s is the best appliance shop around. We purchased our dishwasher, fridge, washer & dryer from them and have been very happy. I appreciate the local business & especially that they will do service calls on the appliances they sell. Our fridge had an issue yesterday. I called them yesterday afternoon, they ordered parts and came out to fix today. Top notch service! Thank you!

Went there to buy a range and the female salesperson acted like I worked for her. Sales training is badly needed. I will purchase somewhere where they respect the buyer. I wouldn't buy there if it were the last store on earth.

Don't expect to receive a Nice greeting when you enter the store unless you are of a certain Persuasion just go in there get your part and leave Remember it's still Farmville And that Confederate flag, Courtesy of The farmer's daughter Nursery located by 307 and 460 ,doesn't Fly off of 460 Farmville exit to fan the animals and it's Descendants are still who they are. So you can't get everything from Lowe's or home depot Or AmazonUnfortunately..

Very poor experience! Brand new refrigerator with moisture and icing at the top of the freezer door. Was told they were not having any such complaints. Receive another new refrigerator in it's place .same exact problem at the same location on the top of the freezer door. I reported the problem immediately however it seems to be my problem now. I guess I need to go to another store and purchase a new one and lose my $1,200 I pay for this one.

Have purchased from this company for 25 years- washer, dryer, stove, overhead microwave and dishwasher. Over that time have had to replace the dishwasher and stove. Others still doing well. Excellent shopping experience and delivery. Repairman is excellent and knowledgeable.

Needed to purchase a washer, salesman was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the product. Looked at prices online at other sellers and their price was $20 less. Plus they deliver and install, and service what they sell. I have dealt with them previously over the years and have always been satisfied.

I had their service tech come out to work on our refrigerator/freezer. The freezer was not working, and we lost all our food in it. Tech came out, worked on it for about an hour or so and told us it should be ok, but to wait 24 hours before we restock. Paid the bill, and off he went. Approximately 30 hours later I went grocery shopping, and bought a few frozen foods (About $50 worth), as the freezer seemed to be working properly. 2 days later I wake up, and there is water on the floor in front of the unit. I checked, and damn if the freezer was not HOT again. All that food spoiled. We called the tech back, and all the while he was working on it he was telling us that it was HIS fault it happened again. He explained that the foam insulation around the freezer was falling apart, and clogged the drain AGAIN, thus preventing the freezer from going thru it's cycles. He worked on it for about 2 hours this time, and assured us problem was definatly solved, apologizing over and over again. This time I waited 4 FULL days before buying more frozen foods. Well, on the morning of the 4th day, the owner calls me AT WORK and wants to know why I didn't pay the service man. Well, for one, he NEVER asked for payment, stating that it was his fault it re-occured., And secondly, if I pay someone one day to fix something, and witin 2 days I have the same problem, I shouldn't have to pay AGAIN--I already did. The guy botched the job the first time, so I'm not paying again for something that wasn't done right. 10 minutes later this clown is at my place of work, demanding payment!!! I told him to take it thru the courts, I was NOT going to pay. He then turned to my boss and demanded that HE take what I owed out of my next paycheck and he would come by and pick it up. Plus he wanted a $25 late fee added to the bill. Well, my boss at the time said he could NOT touch a dime of my pay without a court summons, and he was not going to do it. Not only did I not pay that bill, I told him that if he were to be the last appliance store on the face of the earth I would not set foot in his store to even check the time of day. This was over 20 years ago. How this guy is still in business is beyond me!!!

There was an older salesman that waited on my mother today. Having purchased items from them Poulston TV & Appliance in Farmville, VA, in the past, I referred my mother to them to replace her kitchen range. My son and I even came because it is a smalltown business with limited Covid exposure potential. Also, I thought they would take great care of her. When questioned about the updated safety mechanism on the stove, he refused to answer the question in a manner in which was understandable, requiring my mother to have to rephrase her question multiple times only to get the same answer, not even rewording and ruder each time. Unless you have the opportunity to purchase appliances frequently, new safety measures get added. If a customer has a question about the updated safety mechanism, the salesman should try to explain it. Maybe the customer needs the answer reworded but stating the same answer twice does nothing. When asked about a vented range hood, the gentlemen stated they were low in stock but showed her an open box. He pulled the open box from behind the counter but did not even offer to pull it out or show an image of the item. When asking about possible delivery, my mother was told, "Everybody wants everything delivered, even a microwave. Nobody wants to get a truck and do it themselves anymore." I'm sorry, every woman can manipulate an appliance by themselves into their home? It was to my understanding that if you purchase a product, like a kitchen range, and your store offers delivery, it isn't unfair or unusual for a customer to request it.Instead, this man humiliated her. I was shocked, embarrassed, and disappointed. I was applauded for his rudeness. He continued to belittle her versus answering her questions. Not once did I see him make eye contact with her. I am so glad my son was with us. Otherwise, I may not have been as polite and quiet. I will never shop there again.
