I have been selling scrap metal in two different states for the past 30 years. I've never seen a place operate like this one before, it's like they're impersonating a business. Never gone there before yesterday I pulled up in the scales were broken so I asked the lady when will the scales be open she said probably not for another hour so I said OK if I come back the next day well I'd been good to go and she said yes we opened 8:00 but the money won't be here until 9:00. So I asked her if I had multiple loads if I could bring my scrap at 8:00 and the end of the day cash out and she said yes. So I got home and started thinking I never asked her how much the price was so when she answered the phone I told her I was just the person down there who she was talking to and she acted like she had never heard from me before she gave me the price for the metal and at the end of the conversation she told me that they don't accept scrap every day that after call ahead. So this morning I called ahead and she told me they're not accepting scrap I truly believe they knew last night they weren't accepting scrap who does that? They should be shut down for impersonating a business.

If I could give it less, I would. Finally after a year of Jimmy the fraud and their and yes I said it and will be proving it soon in court filing tomorrow Friday June 28th. Tonight I'm also lodging a complaint of defrauding and willfully cutting customers' rightfull payments due.
Jimmy deliberately and with malicious intent valued Scrap Metal as Tin a far lower customer prices metal.
Then he wants to take your product, not allow the customers be present when dumpster is weighed.
Luckily ABC and other reputable, honest Salvage and Recycling Companies.
He believes he's special because he has certain friends in high power, or what he thinks is high power. Jimmy you're doing people and most of all in Our Own Community.
I am also forwarding my complaint to the State Corporation Commission to Our Own Prince Edward County Commonwealths Attorney. If you've screwed and not only me but others even those who trust you because they're not paying attention you're robbing them.
Honestly if there was a law that could keep people like this from operating a business
It might seem like nothing but whereas Tin is $7 per 100lbs Scrap more Iron and Steels that's going for $9.00 per 100lbs
And Ralph Polley, that's what I thought too, but if you ever call him on something you're P.O.S.
And he's been telling that same damned lie for the past 20 years of he wanted to expand he could. You could have gone to ABC Recycling, better prices, better layout and Great staff. ? And they know if the have the part you actually need.

It sounds like J&J is under new ownership…Dan is THE MAN. Super friendly, helpful, and I found him incredibly fair with his pricing on what I needed. I will definitely return in the future for anything else I need.The lot is extremely congested and not easily accessible right now, I was told to stick to the front portion as the back areas are deemed unsafe…but Dan said he’s working on getting it straightened out. He has his work cut out for him, I look forward to seeing it after he’s been able to make some headway.Overall, had a great experience here.

Great little scrap metal yard . The don't take random scrap metal any longer but the do pay well for any precious metals like cooper brass and alluminum! I like it... No complaints other than they don't take misc. Scrap metal the next closest scrap yard taking random scrap is in Cumberland or Lynchburg.. it would be more convenient to go take care of everything all at once place

Fast and friendly. Get cash for your scrap and get the parts you need for your vehicle, handsfree! Just tell them the part you need and they professionally remove the part and test it for a fraction new. And get needed miscellaneous metal. Today I got 18x18 5/16 Diamond Plate $3!

Is there a way to give negative stars? The owner verbally accosted my elderly mother for wanting his office staff to wear a mask. Told her "if you're scared, you should've stayed home". Regardless of your political views and whether you believe in science or not, it seems like it's not too much to ask for a little decency, which the owner obviously lacks. Strongly encourage everyone to avoid this place
