This gym sucks. Equipment is broken for months. Go elsewhere unless you get a really cheap deal.

Decent gym. However, it's halfway broken at the moment.
Steam room - not working. Sauna - not working. Jacuzzi - not working. Swimming pool - not working.
I asked the management at least 10 times. Recently, I started hearing annoyance in their voice suggesting I should stop asking "it's gonna take a while".
Mind you that all the above mentioned facilities are out of service for over two months.
Don't get me started about the disgusting showers or broken exercise machines.
On the bright side: they have a decent selection of machines. 4 squat racks. Multiple bench presses. And the membership is fairly affordable. All these gain them the two stars.
If the equipment and facilities get fixed I'd be happy to rate them 4-5 stars.

New ownership, same problems.. dirty and broken equipment. The locker room is all torn apart. The plumbing here seems to be a massive issue, with something always broken.

Just go to Gold's Gym right around the corner.
Seriously. As XSport, this gym was barely passable. Now that it's LA Fitness, the overcrowdedness isn't any better, and they are the most outlandish customer service to deal with. Brandon (I think that's his name, could be Ed) is aggressively rude. When I tried to have my membership cancelled (as I only purchased it a week before LA took over), Brandon openly mocked the idea of doing so. Later, when I came to dispute a charge I thought was a double bill, he quite literally taunted the fact I disliked LA Fitness and don't use the membership I'm currently locked into ("well, that's not MY to money waste..." as though he's not he's the reason I have that money wasted in the first place).
I will actively dissuade others to join this gym.

I cancelled my membership at XSport months ago and according to the now LA fitness team my XSport account was somehow "reactivated" when they cutover to the new systems.
They deactivated it again a 2nd time but I had to pay the accrued months after I cancelled to make sure I didn't have an outstanding balance. I have receipt confirmations of the first cancellation, but they insisted they could not do anything and a refund was not possible. New system or not, reactivating confirmed deactivated accounts and then having accounts accrue a balance without any notice to customers and no steps to resolve and rectify the error was a big oversight on their part.

I have a lot of love for the gym itself, but it's run by unprofessional egotists who actively try to ruin the fitness experience of their members.

The only thing keeping me here is the price and location. There are quite a few machines that have fallen into disrepair either by being unusable or having unreadable weight stacks. I also don’t understand how all these years later, this gym still doesn’t have a water bottle refilling station. It’s sad. I mean, *most* of the machines work. That’s why it’s a 3 and not a 1.

The king street Alexandria location is horrible , you can smell the nastiness from the garage entrance. I was actually assaulted by one of the managers with curly hair, light skin , with glasses( no name tag and refused to tell me has name ) and looks like his on steroid rage . The most unprofessional location that I’ve ever experienced, actually this is the most unprofessional bunch at the Alexandria .This is all facts I was last there May 4th Saturday at around 5pm . Assaulted by ripping my metal key chain and ripping my right hand , I called 911 but they said it’s a civil matter ! Does anyone like to be treated like this his ? . It turns out they made a mistake , how can I be okay with “ sorry you don’t owe us anything it was a mistake “ how ? Would you accept that and let it go ? I’m still waiting for corporate to respond , I filled 4 complaints starting from May 4th , The first day I signed up was April 27 at this location , it’s like xsport is just not wanting to even acknowledge the pain and suffering I experienced in there business and not one reply not even one response apologies for the staff ?! Not even simple accountability what’s so ever , what a shame . I’m not going to stop , I will contact local news . Xsport definitely dropped the ball , I was just looking for a simple acknowledgment.’

I really enjoyed the classes at this gym and the prices are competitive compared to other gyms, but it’s more than you should be paying for the constantly overcrowded floor and poor management.
Some of the staff are very kind, but the management is terrible. I have had multiple negative interactions with Brandon, specifically. I am disappointed by the lack of professionalism and the aggressive sales tactics (body shaming, financial pressuring, guilt) I’ve experienced through my interactions here. I have not seen management take accountability for the mistakes they have made regarding negligent handling of my account and the financial consequences I have suffered because of it.
I continued to come to this gym because I enjoyed the Zumba classes offered and had lots of peers who went there as well, but I would not recommend it to anyone who can afford otherwise.
Again, some of the staff are helpful and the class instructors are incredible. Hoping the recent switch to LA Fitness will include some adjustments to management.

The worst gym I ever been too every machine seemed out dated and broken AC doesn’t work gym feels like a sauna. Had to wait 30 minutes for one machine because the others were broken One workout took me an hour more than usual. So called changes are “coming”

Went down hill quick. Most the equipment is junk now and has become an LA Fitness. The only positive review is from a paid contributor who has only 4 star ratings. Personally I’m leaving the gym to go to Golds Gym.
