We had a horrible experience onsite picking up our van in Falls Church. I'd reserved it online two months earlier, pickup in Falls Church, one way trip, drop off in Boston. A nice guy called and confirmed two days prior to pick up. I have the email confirmation. The two people onsite were rude and basically tried to say we couldn't rent a van for a one way trip out of the DC area. We ended up with a 10' truck we didn't need or want. Which we couldn't get out of first gear. Turns out they didn't want to admit that they didn't have a van for us to use. They insisted on two personal references(??) to vouch for us, even though I'd uploaded my drivers license into their system as requested. It was an awful, time-consuming and frustrating process. On a positive note, after I called to complain about the situation and how poorly we were treated, i got a call from Bill, a manager. He apologized, confirmed the employees did not follow protocol, and found us a van in Springfield.

It wasn't a U-haul place. We went to 2 placesvthat day listed as U-haul places that weren't. One was a mechanic and the second was a check cashing/ Western Union (?) It was a waste of time, gas, and energy.

3 of us were in the store waiting for service, and no one was there. One of us (who weren't together) went to the attached custom hitch installation business, and the u-haul worker was there doing that. It took him 5 minutes, after he was told we were waiting, for him to come in the store. The 3 of us were astounded.

I intended to rent the van for only one day, but while moving, (which was the purpose for the rental,) I fell and hurt my knee. Because of the emergency, I was unable to drive for a bit. This resulted in me being late. The agent called and started screaming at me that I was supposed to return the van. I explained what happened, apologized, and assured her that it would be back before she opened the next day. I assured her that I knew I would be responsible for paying the extra day. When she hung up, I thought we had an understanding that I simply had an emergency and would be returning it that night. Until, that is, I got an email that the van had been reported stolen. I got an call from a district U-Haul trying to retrieve the vehicle. When I explained to that gentleman what happened, he was understanding. It was returned that night, as promised.UHaul is a very important business for those who can't afford or don't want to waste the money on movers. The company Uhaul, overall, is a good company (based on my experience). I will likely use Uhaul again, but I will definitely NEVER use that location.

The truck I got had almost 160,000 miles and it drove rough. It felt borderline unsafe and I questioned whether it was mechanically sound. Steering, braking, accelerator were rough. It was also all banged up. But it did the job of moving stuff. Gas mileage was also terrible, less than 10 mpg. UHaul should retire the older trucks sooner or warn people what they're getting into. This is the opposite of a rental car, in terms of cleanliness and quality and newness. And the staff at this location weren't friendly or helpful, only minimally so. The truck wasn't expensive, relatively, but still overpriced for what it was.

Went for propane. Rip off, they wanted $89. Go to Home Depot for $23. Rude staff, zero customer service attitude.

The assistant was fantastic and helpful. The location is not the best. Uhaul was asking for verification of passport, work call, etc when checking out and it wasn't included in any email instructions. The assistant was able to say that was stupid and got me on my way.

Never rent U-Haul at this stop, it's much more expensive than others ($1.19 vs. $0.69 per mile for cargo and similar for other types of vehicle)

I already had the ball for the hitch because I had a hitch installed on my truck before in Florida. We had a hitch installed on our jeep and this Uhaul did a good job took about 4 hours maybe then they called to come pick up. Price was: 414.90 and I saved like $30 or more because I had the ball hitch already. Thank you for a good install Uhaul.

Uhaul did not even realize we rented blankets. Asked for them, and they did not provide the proper amount and failed to mention that we had to fold the blankets upon return. Beware for the $25 hidden fee that you will be hit with, despite them not informing you of such a fee

Read some of the reviews after I left the store. The staff here definitely does NOT give off a city of falls church vibe. Maybe more of an upper Marlboro vibe. Pretty rude and took forever to "help" customers. Quotations around help because one of the woman was just berating a gentleman who was having difficulty with his screen not telling him to insert his card. Meaning she probably didn't click next on her screen. It was pretty busy when I arrived and I asked one of the staff where I should park due to the 15 minute customer parking being taken. He said they don't have customer parking?? Guess he never read the signs. So he then suggests anywhere. I pull over behind the building with enough distance from the truck rentals. I start walking towards the store and they tell me I can't park there. So I ask where I can park?! They said they didn't know. Also, the place reeks of weed. The general U-Haul prices are good but if you can go to a different location I highly suggest you do.

Staff were somewhat unprofessional; gave me a truck that had stuff in it still; had to wait about 30 min to finally get a truck that was ready to go.

This place is a carbon copy of Chapelle's show "Pop Copy" episode. If you've never seen this episode, go watch it now before going here to get an understanding of what you are getting yourself into. The staff here is awful. I reserved a trailer weeks in advance and had my entire move planned around this reservation. The morning of my move, I show up and they don't have the technician there to install the trailer to my Jeep and couldn't help me, basically just told me that I was SOL and there was nothing they could do to help, and they didnt care to try either. They literally just told me to "try another Uhaul location", even though my reservation was with them, so I drove around for 2 hours from Uhaul to Uhaul location seeing if anybody could help me, and they all basically laughed at me for trying to come in without a reservation and get a trailer the same day, even though that's what this location suggested I do. 2 other locations asked what location I made my reservation at and when I told them this one, they all kind of laughed and said they werent surprised. The employees here couldn't have cared less that they inconvenienced me as much as they did, which this was a pretty severe inconvenience. Not to mention, I had already paid for the rental and when I mentioned that to one of the employees there he said "just call in next week and we'll refund you". Of course, that wasn't as easy as he made it sound. I called and was put on hold for 20 minutes before the line got disconnected, called back and the same thing happened again. The third time I called back when she answered and said "please hold please" I cut her off and asked her not to put me on hold because I have been waiting for an hour at this point and keep getting disconnected. She took that quite literally and instead of putting me on hold she actually just HUNG UP on me. I decided it wasn't worth the headache and gave up, so I ended up paying for the reservation that I never used PLUS I had to make another reservation for a few days later on top of that (through another location obviously). DO NOT GO HERE- use another Uhaul location
