This is often the Safeway that I go to on the way to work to pick up a snack or on the way home to grab something for dinner. I went yesterday 12/13/24 and picked up some fruit and everything in the store looked great. Everything was faced super well and the store was clean, there was hardly anyone there but the store had just opened so to be expected. I forgot to get cash out the ATM and thought it nothing cause I will just come back tomorrow before work and get it then. Well 12/14/24 at the same time of day before work I go to get the cash and the doors are locked. I check the store hours, see people inside and found an open door. After the ATM I informed a worker named Theresa there that the doors are locked and was ready to just move on with my day. I worked retail for awhile and sometimes stuff like that happens if you’re having a hectic morning. Theresa starts talking about who am I? Why does it matter if it’s a little late and she’s the only one in the store. I would NEVER tell any of my staff to say any of that ESPECIALLY that they are the only ones in the store. I walked away but the doors to exit were locked and Theresa said those doors don’t open until 7. These were the same ones that I had just used the day before and there was no sign indicating the difference. I tell her “there’s no sign I didn’t know” and once again berated with comments as I walk to the other doors. Now, she’s saying to other people now coming as she finishes unlocking the doors that I am something or other cause I’m not buying anything. I’ll be shopping at the giant just a bit down the street.

I usually do grocery pick up. They are so nice and they pick out great quality items. They communicate well when they are out of something. This location does seem to be out of things a lot, but it's close to home so we make it work.

Why is this location always out of cigarettes and understaffed…always an issue, and the only grocery store within walking distance. Seems more concerned with security than it does selling product to those who are buying. Pretty bad.

The lady helping me on the register delivered poor customer service didn’t say hi grab my card when I have wic and proceed to ignore me while I had a question horrible

They put discounts on shelf items but when at check out , the discount never shows up. That's why Safeway is the most terrible place to do grocery. Avoid it!

The best Safeway I have ever visted in Northern Virginia. The selection of meat, vegetables, gourmet food was amazing. The staff is very friendly and nice.

Workers let homeless man rummage through the produce. He eats whatever he wants with his dirty paws and nobody says a thing.There also was a homeless lady throwing rubbing alcohol up in the air at the intersection and cracked out of her mind.If you want to spend top dollar to feel like you are shopping at skid row this is the spot.

It's okay but there's a guy there who hangs out near the exit and keeps begging for change. he scares me and my family and I won't return until he leaves

This store (Lee Highway/ West Falls Church Shopping Center) has made it their business to overcharge the customer at every turn. I purchased a medium size container of seafood salad at the deli counter. I told the clerk I wanted a pound. The price read $8.49/lb. The deli scale tag read $8.99/lb. I caught the error as I was standing at the counter and the clerk turned to a different scale, weighed it and this scale printed the correct price. Two other times, I caught the error as I was at checkout. Other items that are priced wrong in the past have been wine, produce, meat, etc. My advice is to always use the self checkout and pay extra attention to items you know that are weighted or on “sale.”
