Horrible customer service, I just moved to Virginia from Georgia, I got the 3 day pass online to tryout the gym I was denied access because I don’t have a local ID yet and I JUST GOT TO THE AREA!!! Safe to say when I do get my ID this is NOT A GYM I’d come back to!!!!! Literally explained to the guy I just moved here and only been here a few days

Charged me cancelation fees and the next month's fee. You can only cancel in person, not online, nor on the phone.
They didn't care that I was leaving for the military.

I got my gym membership through golds because of its convenience in locations both to my house and work. They offered me a deal that was just as good as other gyms, so I took them up on it because of that. I was also offered a "personal training session" by the desk worker at the time I signed up, only realizing once he started mumbling prices that it cost more money, so be mindful that the workers here WILL try to soft sell you on extra services. I got him to admit the pricing and declined, but stayed because of the location and convenience.
Another reason I stayed at this location was the fact that this specific location listed they had a women's only room, which was pointed out to me by the desk clerk when I signed up. I often feel discomfort working out in an area with men - this isn't to say all men are creeps, I just found over the past few weeks that the women's room was more comfortable, and I could have less pressure this way. Today when I visited, I was surprised to see a man in that area, and after more than a couple creepy interactions, I went to the desk and asked about the room. I was then informed that the room is no longer a women's only room, which is not what the site advertised.
If you are looking for a no-frills gym experience, this location is fine, but I've found the location on Ox Road (even without the women's only area) is more spaced out, comfortable temp, and in nicer condition. I will likely be moving my "home" location there after this experience. Don't advertise what you won't enforce.

I’ve always used this as my gym home when away from home, and appreciate the flexibility they have for reasonable guest pass fees. Love that Gold’s consistently can provide options for traveling members!

This gym has gone downhill since the pandemic. Many people have left due to Golds increasing their membership and doing so without telling them.. they don’t realize the increase until they look at their banking or credit card statements. They don’t have as many group fitness classes because they can’t get instructor’s.They changed out the yoga room , rarely used ,with a few weights and punching bag. They only have 1 Fitness trainer who is actually great! Everyone else has left..says a lot . I remember months ago the hot water tap in the women’s bathroom was flowing steadily.. I talked to the manager and staff to let them know .. it’s took them days to get it fixed.. another cost passed onto the members. Then there is the inability to get the A/C working correctly.. ongoing issue especially for the group excercise room. Some of the front staff put the heat up to 74-75 because they are cold.. ugh… how about curtailing this to save money instead of jacking up memberships? There isn’t decent circulation in the facility and the fans they do have don’t oscillate. 3 fans for entire gym, 2 of which are in the group exercise room. The equipment is old and when stuff breaks they remove and don’t replace. They have 3 TV stations which are always turned to sports. Fairfax station is a bit better but it’s showing signs of the same especially the being charged more without notice... not sure what type of business plan this is but I and many others are looking into Onelife gym. Apparently they are less expensive and offer better facilities, plus most of the golds gym instructors teach there( better pay better treatment) Golds used to have the best instructors.. but they didn’t keep in touch with them during the pandemic so many signed up with other gyms. There are a few excellent instructors left.Again poor business plan!

Pretty clean, abundance of training devices. Hot water showers. Personal trainers on demand. Overall experience 5 stars.

If you want a fancy, luxurious gym with a spectacular locker room, pool and spa , this is not the gym for you. If you want a clean workout space with good classes and an abundance of well maintained equipment, this is your place.

Women’s sauna is inconsistently on. Definitely look forward to using it and it’s a disappointment when it’s off randomly.

Aleeza helped my brother with the membership. She’s prompt and knowledgeable. Doesn’t sound pushy when it comes to memberships but listens with an open mind. I’ll refer my friends and family because of my pleasant experience!

Solid gym with good enough equipment. A little lacking when it comes to barbell choice and squat rack availability so if you're a power lifter or Olympic lifter, this won't be a top choice. If you're looking for a variety of machines and a generous free weight/bench press area, this won't disappoint. Staff has been friendly though I've only encountered the opening employees. Bathrooms/locker rooms are nice and clean, sauna works, sanitation stations are consistently stocked. All around solid do-all gym option close to the highway, great for commuters.
