This is our second time working with the team at Globe Bath & Kitchen and we couldn’t say better things about them. They first did our guest bathroom prior to the pandemic. Even before signing a contract we had renders and estimates in hand. The project turned out exactly to specs, on budget and time. The major renovation of our entire lower level - kitchen, floors, lighting, and fireplace refacing - was delayed by years due to our family’s schedules, but recently completed. We got the same team as in early 2020. The team was clean, fast, efficient, and treated our community with the utmost respect. Our neighbors noticed and went out of their way to let us know the team was quiet (as possible), clean and didn’t leave gates propped open. The project finished three weeks ahead of time, and about 2% over budget. We did move out to allow the team to work quickly, but still were pleasantly surprised at the outcome. We worked with GBK (Amanuel) in 2020 to completely remodel our kitchen and full bathroom, but after his initial quote and a couple meetings asked to include another full bathroom based on his reasonable prices and our happiness in working with him. We tacked on a number of small items to that first remodel (recent house purchase, so we were making a bunch of small improvements as well as the major improvements), reached out for a small job to fix our fireplace a few months later, and just finished our next (hopefully last) major remodel for our third full bathroom and master bedroom. Amanuel has always been extremely honest, transparent, and works extremely hard to make sure we were well taken care of. His contracting crew led by Victor has done amazing work each time and have always been extremely punctual, communicative, and fantastic to work with. Even with our additions to the job throughout (and at the height of the pandemic with shortages and supply chain issues everywhere), Victor and Amanuel completed our entire kitchen and two full bath project on time and on budget - and each of our other jobs as well.We can't recommend Amanuel and his team enough to anyone considering major or minor renovations to their home.Services: Kitchen remodeling

UPDATE: After my original review, the company contact me and made the case that I should rescind/revise my review because: 1) they no longer use the subcontractor they hired for my project; 2) the project manager did everything he could to remedy the problems; and 3) they did not test for asbestos because they knew there was none in my apartment building. Based on the factual information, I changed my rating on the basis of the following scoring: FOUR stars for the final result; THREE stars for pricing; ONE start for communications and overall experience. I'd reiterate that the project manager was indeed a very nice person and he returned our calls and texts when we needed to fix things. But the lack of communication and respect to our home during the reno process left a long-lasting scar that cannot be remedied easily. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We had a bathroom in our 1bd condo remodeled by BGK in fall 2020 after requesting quotes from six companies, on the basis that a) the designer/project manager, Daniel, was very friendly and easy to work with, and b) the pricing was just about right (not the cheapest). The nightmare began when the subcontractor showed up. We could not communicate with the person in English so we had to use Google Translate - which should have been an immediate red flag. The guy started hacking away the tiles as soon as he arrived in our apartment, without any communication or protection of our furniture, flooring, and belongings. We had to run away from home because of the cloud of dust, only to discover later that everything in the living room and kitchen was covered in dust and had to throw away our couch, books, and other person items that could not be properly cleaned. I should also mention that the condo was built in the 1940s, so it is quite possible that there're asbestos in the walls, but the worker couldn't have cared less. The designer/project manager rarely showed up on the site and on some days, he didn't even know that the subcontractor didn't show up. The actual project took a week longer to finish than initially quoted, then we had a series of issues with low quality materials that took even longer to resolve. This was our first remodeling project and we learned some valuable, albeit expensive, lessons. Overall, I'm happy with the looks of the new bathroom, but wish we didn't have to go through the traumatizing experience the 1940s, so it is quite possible that there're asbestos in the walls, but the worker couldn't have cared less. Easiest, best 5-star rating I've ever given. Look at my profile, I am a normal yelp person for restaurants etc., like yelpers are. Working with Globe Bath & Kitchen (GBK) was phenomenal! Under-budget from the original loose estimate, on schedule, great result -- everything you hope for in interior remodeling. We've already given them repeat business, and at times we look around our house and point out what we'll need GBK to improve.

Working with Daniel was truly a pleasure. He was the first to respond with suggested layouts via C.A.D. drawings and mock ups. His ideas were creative and fit it nicely with what we had envisioned. He was always responsive to any issue I had as the work continued. The crew came every weekday like clockwork, and were professional and friendly. Gabriel, the crew leader, was great to work with and made changes that we asked for quickly and cost effectively. Osmar was on the job nearly every day and was also a pleasure to work with. I would definitely not hesitate to use Global's services again if/when the need arises! We are very happy with how the bathroom turned out!

Perfect! They worked with us from day one. Several changes were requested along the way and they accommodated our requests with a smile. No delays. Showed up when they said they would and finished on schedule. I wish all contractors were as reliable as they were. Best part? The finished bathroom! Just as we envisioned.

This was our second project with Globe, the first being a kitchen remodel a few years ago. That experience was so positive that we talked them in to remodeling our unfinished basement, though their wheelhouse is bathrooms and kitchens (as their name implies). They added a full bathroom and a guestroom/office as well as the larger basement space. Globe's owners are committed to quality work and customer satisfaction. their contractors are genuine craftsmen. Working with them was a communicative and interactive process. They were responsive when unanticipated issues or emergencies came up. We recommend these guys without hesitation.

These guy are superstars. It was our 2nd major project with them, (the first being a kitchen remodel) and we got them to go out of their comfort zone (bathrooms and kitchens) to do our basement. Amanuel is extremely thoughtful, conscientious, and a pleasure to work with from the design process through construction and finish. His contractors are genuine craftsmen with very high standards for quality and workmanship. Still, prices were about middle of the road - not bargain basement but not gourmet. Would recommend them without hesitation.

First things first- you can stop your search for a contractor and reach out to GBK. We had a great experience and three weeks post-project, I walk into my new kitchen every day and fall more in love with it. We hired GBK for a kitchen remodel and to add a bathroom to our 1920s DC townhouse. I was impressed with GBK from our initial consultation, and was happy with their initial estimate. I really liked that we were able to go and choose materials and finalize the design before we signed a contract. Amanuel was always very responsive and I was impressed with Victor, his foreman. The crew was always respectful and explained what they were doing. The project finished on time and on budget. We did discover about a week after the project ended that there was a plumbing issue that no one could have anticipated, but Amanuel stood by his work and the crew fixed it promptly. We did wish there was a little more transparency with regards to pricing- a line by line budget would've been nice- but we were still happy with the price we paid and that we did not go over the budget we signed on. Overall, highly recommend GBK!

From the estimate, design and installation all went well. Damaged cabinet door was replaced quickly. Water leakage problem solved. However, I have 4 boxes of flooring left over so that says to me it was over estimated. It appeared to be enough to do the floor twice. This is my second time using this company and do it again if needed.
