If I could give a negative 1 star, I would. I was directed to this store from my vacuum manufacturer. I did not buy from this particular store and I think that the owner was angry that I was bringing a vacuum in for him to repair that I didn't buy from him directly. He was extremely rude and would not even give me any kind of estimated date when I could expect my vacuum to be repaired. He made a snide comment about if I kept asking him when the vacuum would be ready that I could just take my vacuum with me. Well you know what? I did just that and I called the vacuum manufacturer and told them to never send anyone to this awful, awful man. I have lived in northern Virginia for almost 40 years and I have never been treated as rudely as I was today. I have no idea how he stays in business.

Went in to repair/replace Miele vacuum head. (this was the replacement head he provided to us two months earlier). Provided zero help and was rude, dismissive and did not want to hear what issues were occurring. Was downright hostile towards my wife and I to the point where we feared for our safety. Please do not go here.

I dropped off two machines. One that would not sew in reverse anymore and the other with horrible timing I can only assume since thread just bunched up underneath. Machines where inexpensive models that I was a little embarrassed to request repairs, but the owner assured me these were inexpensive but still good machines. Turn around time was couple days and both machines were good to go. I would definitely use again.

I just took my vacuum cleaner to this shop, He checked it and called me back 1 hour later to tell me that the motor was dead.He did not charge me any money for that service. Great shop!!

I give them more than one star only because they had a fast turn around. Otherwise, I have not been able to sew a single stitch with my sewing machine since I got it fixed. I offered to send photos or videos to show what is happening. The shop owner refused to receive these and refused to give me a refund. So at the end of the day, I spent $70 for nothing. Don’t waste your time.

This shop solved my two big sewing wants/needs. I called to see if they carried any serger/overlock machines and they happened to have a secondhand machine in stock. (This being my first serger, I didn't want to spend a ton.) I also needed a tune-up for my late grandmother's sewing machine. When I dropped it off, I arranged with the owner, Rashid, to come back and meet with his repairman, Sigfredo, to demo the serger. They had it set up and ready to roll when I arrived. Sigfredo patiently answered my questions about the machine and showed me a few ways to run it. (The manual was missing but we found it online.) Once I saw how beautifully it stitched knit fabric, I was sold! I had a lovely chat with Rashid during the whole transaction. Maybe I'm starved of human interactions due to COVID, but it was really wonderful to have a friendly, personable shopping experience here. I probably could've bought the same machine from eBay, but I got to try it, first, and it felt good to spend money locally. I feel like I met Rashid's whole family, from all he told me about his kids!Admittedly, I had been apprehensive about leaving my heirloom machine in the care of strangers. It's a sturdy hunk of metal but holds a lot of sentimental value. Of course, I had nothing to worry about. They took great care of it--Sigfredo fixed its pesky tension problem and now it runs like a dream. I just ordered a bunch of fabric...time to get cranking on sewing clothes for all my friends having COVID babies!

I can’t same enough good things about my experience. Mr. Ahmed said my wife’s sewing machine would be repaired within a week and it was. It is like a new and at the price quoted.

I had a wonderful experience with my mother’s over 60-year-old Domestic sewing machine. Another business said that it was not fixable, even if I paid $200. They said they couldn’t even get electricity to it and charged me $45. Americana had to address a number of issues but completed the repairs within a couple of days for their regular fee. Will never use any place else. So great to still be able to use Mom’s machine!

I highly recommend this place. Took my basic viking sewing machine in for a service/tune up. It was completed quickly and I am over the moon happy with the way my machine in sewing. Phenomenal job and more than fair pricing. I learned a lot about vacuums while I was there as well and will return when our family is ready for that purchase.
