We stopped here on a whim driving up 81. Janis met us outside her shop with a warm welcome as we pulled up. She is very passionate and knowledgeable about her craft. My fiance bought a whole bag of her hand spun alpaca yarn and a few other gifts.

This place is must see for any animal lover or family with kids. You can take a short tour and feed the alpacas and we got to pet a baby that was a little over a week old. The animals all are very well taken care of. There is a cute little store on sight that has some on site made clothing (scarfs, hat, gloves) and some authentic hand made items from Peru. Yes alpaca based clothing is expensive but you absolutely get what you pay for. If you’ve ever heard the praise from folks who have used good quality merino wool soft goods, some say Alpaca stuff is a step up from merino wool.

The lady who introduced us to her "babies", the young Alpacas, was amazing. These animals are adorable. I wanted to adopt all of them.

Thank you Janis and John for an amazing stay. We had a great time talking with you and learning about your beautiful alpacas. It was a very unique experience and not one that can be found at a campground. This was an incredible Harvest Host stop.

This is my opinion and should be taken as such. This was a harvest host stop for us and we loved it. Janice and John were super friendly and very proud of their establishment. We got a tour and got to feed some alpacas. The views were amazing also.❤️

Cool place to spend a night. Not a ton to do in the immediate area. Get some alpaca socks, they’re comfy.

Awesome alpaca farm, owners John and Janis are so helpful and outgoing and full of inspiration. This is our second alpaca purchase and it just keeps on getting better. We highly recommend visiting or purchasing from Ridge Valley Alpaca s.

If you are ever in Fairfield, VA, this is a must see. Janice Conlon met us in the parking area and was so open and friendly. She explained all the various pens with the Alpacas, how they are cared for and the sheering process. It was all very interesting and the newest baby was so cute. She was so patient and answered all our question. Her little gift shop had great Alpaca items from socks, sweaters, shoe liners, gloves, hats, etc. We had a great time there and came away with unique gifts. Was so worth going there.

What a lovely alpaca farm. Janice was wonderful and a wealth of information about alpacas. My husband and I sat on front porch watching a beautiful sunset…it was so relaxing. Also, Janice’s shop was really nice. We would absolutely come again.

A must see farm! Janice was very friendly and knowledgeable about her alpacas. We were able to feed and pet them. They are so much softer than I had imagined. Such sweet animals. We bought a few interesting gifts in her store that you could not find elsewhere. Perfect for those "hard to buy for" people! A lot of the items are made from the fiber of her alpacas. The views on her farm are simply beautiful.

Great alpaca farm in Virginia. They had a variety of goods in their store made with alpaca fiber. Some were made from the fiber of their own alpacas and some imported from Peru. Many different mittens, hats, scarves, shawls, stuffed animals, sweaters, and socks. Janice, one of the owners, also does some of her own weaving and dying of the fibers. The alpacas were adorable and friendly and there were 5 baby alpacas! You can tell they are very well taken care of. The owners offer a wealth of information and love to share it with others.
