took my guinea pig there back in february when her normal vet couldn’t figure out what was wrong with her and she was losing weight fast. going to an exotics vet is so important if you have a guinea pig or other small animal. my other vet was good but she just wasn’t knowledgeable enough on guinea pigs. i learned my lesson and now will only trust an exotics vet with my babies. thank you stahl for finding and treating my piggie’s ovarian cyst and giving me more time with her when i was scared i would lose her. they really are the best!

Great care and improvements made over the course of the 2 years I have come here. Boarding and tech staff are A1 and vets are knowledgeable. All staff have been very courteous and patient with me as I navigate the care of my pet.

We have brought our bunnies here several times for routine care and surgery. We have seen several doctors all of whom have been very thorough and personable. The technicians are all exceptional and I am consistently impressed with their knowledge and handling of our boys. The front desk staff are pleasant and everything is well run and makes the overall experience well worth the over an hour drive.

We took our rabbit here for an emergency visit without appointment. They were quick to see us and presented all options for treatment in an empathetic manner. The office is large and clean and the staff were very friendly.

We've been using Stahl's since 2021. They took care of us when we had to put our little hedgehog down (wobbly hedgehog syndrome) and we have been taking our rabbits to them as well. We always see different vets and different techs, but they are all very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional.

They fit us in on short notice and were very kind and understanding when we put our rat to sleep.

We visited SEAVS for the first time today. Dr. Schleinkofer and the technician were wonderful. The office was inviting with a mindful wait time. I will definitely take my bunny there again.

Nadjia & Dr. Noah were so helpful and caring with us when we brought our nearly acquired Russian tortoise Shelby (so to be Nikolai). Thank you for trimming his beak and giving us helpful husbandry information. Total for visit was 130$ (150$ after the vitamins). Great prices!!! We can tell everyone really cares about the animals! Thank you again!

Employees don’t know what they’re doing. Money hungry and doesn’t really care for your pets. Stahl is just hiring anyone at this point and it’s a mess in there. Go find another animal clinic.

This place is just terrible. They only care about their pockets and not about your animals. I wish someone else will open another Exotic animal hospital in Fairfax County. My sister used to take her pet there and she says it was the worse experience at the veterinarian office ever. Reading the reviews, I can see others have experienced the same thing.

I, like many others, would give this place a 0 rating. Today my bird died after I administered a tiny dose, less than recommended by Vet, of Tramadol. As soon as I gave my starling the tiniest dose possible by syringe as directed by the Vet, my bird went into severe convulsions and died. I administered CPR but to no avail. The Tramadol is poison. I have done further research and learned that other birds and pets have died or had adverse reactions. I hesitated two weeks before giving the med as I was afraid it could cause harm. I wish I had followed my intuition. Two weeks after my appt at Stahl my bird was making major progress, from not eating to gaining a normal appetite. However, he seemed to have a slight issue with his right foot the past two days, nothing too major, but I thought I would give him some of the prescribed med, after all a vet should know best what they are prescribing. The vet, Dr. Noah, had not warned me of any possible adverse affects. The med was like poison and murdered my baby in less than a minute. I am in deep mourning. My beloved starling was getting better for the most part from what I would describe as prolonged malnutrition. The diagnosis was inconclusive after the blood work showed possible kidney or liver issues, but nothing was confirmed. As my bird was dehydrated and on an imbalanced diet, the blood work needed to be repeated in order to get a clearer understanding of the underlying issues. Again, my bird was making progress. I have deep remorse and have great regret for following Dr. Noah's instructions on administering the poison which includes warnings about giving to pets that may have kidney or liver issues, which again was not confirmed. Everything about my experience at Stahl felt like an opportunity to suck as much money out of me as possible while being left clueless as to what is going on. Frankly, if you don't know then don't prescribe heavy narcotics. My remorse is beyond consolable. A part of me died today. I feel guilty for not knowing better, for trusting in a Vet who seemed inexperienced with Starlings and how to proceed. I called Stahl today and informed the front desk what happened and requested a call back from Dr. Noah. I was never contacted which just proves they don't really care. It's all about the money. So many animals have died in their care which is why I was terrified to leave my bird in their care. I hate they don't let you in the examination room which means they can do whatever they want and you will never know. My warning to everyone, do your own research, don't just start pumping your pets with drugs that have lethal side effects. Don't use Tramadol. Always get a second opinion, if possible. Use your intuition by monitoring your pets symptoms. One size does not fit all. Animals are hypersensitive to these chemicals we call medication and more often than not they are being harmed or even murdered. My heart is shattered. I can't go back in time now and undo this damage done. I can only warn others. I feel like Stahl doesn't care about our pets just our wallets. And the expertise is majorly lacking. Too bad they are one of the only vets in the are who deal with exotics.

The only place I trust with my parrots. A vet can't be an expert in every animal because they are so different and SEAVS specializes in exotics. I've been going there almost 15 years and have been happy with everybody, both the vets and the techs.

Everyone I came in contact with was very friendly, kind, courteous, and helpful. Definitely recommend it for anyone who owns a reptile or bird. Our parakeet, Alicia, was treated with care and tenderness. It is such a relief to know they're here and available for our beloved pets. Thank you so much.
