I used RepairPal to pick a booking & price guaranteed shop.
Booking was not honored. Price was not honored. Booking was verified by the shop, but the shop later said they didn't receive a request. They generated their own estimate that was 50% higher than Citgo. They brought it down when I said I'll check other shops. I still left.
Every person says something different that I'm not sure who's telling the truth. Even the same person will say something different at different moments that I just can't trust anyone.
I went to Citgo across the road where I got one price and consistent info about my car throughout the entire process that was done at a price slightly lower than the final price this Shell offered when I was leaving.

On my way home to Capitol Hill DC from Micro Center in Fairfax, the rear tire on the passenger side of my 2007 Chrysler Crossfire went flat. I was able to pull into the Shell station in Merrifield, where Mike and his staff immediately took charge. They showed me that the flat tire had a large gash in its sidewall and could not be repaired. They also advised that both rear tires were original equipment and had begun to rot out and that both should be replaced. They performed the necessary work expertly and rapidly, and their bill was reasonable. They also pointed out that I would soon need new pads on the rear brakes. I recommend them withiut reservation.

Very disappointed in the service i got from my fellow Muslim brother Mike. He was very rude and not transparent at all about pricing. Would not think about taking my vehicle back here ever again

Avoid this place like the plague if you are coming in for a state safety inspection. They came up with a bogus rejection reason for the suspension on my vehicle which my mechanic said was perfectly fine. They then quoted me $800+ to fix it which my mechanic did for half the price. The inspectors here are likely kicking back jobs to make more money at this Shell with these bogus rejection reasons.

I've had a great experience getting a safety check from Merrifield Shell for the past two years in a row. Friendly, efficient service, even during their busy times. They flagged an item to watch (front brakes), but made no attempt at an upsell at all. I will definitely come here again!

Very slow service even during the weekday.Monday: It took 1.5 hours for my state inspection to be done, from the moment the car was on the lift to the moment I got my keys back.Wednesday: I had repairs done to my front rotors. I dropped my car off at 6:30am, it didn't get on a lift until 1:00pm, my car wasn't ready until 5:00pm; that's 10.5 hours.Every time estimate they gave me was way off. No discount for amount of time lost which amounted to 12 hours total.I don't know if they're understaffed, overworked or both, but that took way too long. I could have gone to Mr. Tire or Ted Britt Ford and neither would have taken as long as Shell did.I won't be going back.

BEWARE - SCAM ARTISTS at MERRIFIELD SHELL!!!! Merrifield Shell failed my safety inspection siting a leaking power steering pressure hose and broken engine mounts. Quote for repair was $1030.00. Took my car to W.B. Motors (where I should have gone in the first place) and they found a minor leak in the pressure hose due to a loose clamp and engine mounts were absolutely fine. Cost $37.50. Went back to Shell Merrifield to report the findings and the mechanic was rude and belligerent. He pointed the the W.B. Motors invoice and said 'look here. the hose was leaking' as a full defense. No mention of the bogus claim of broken engine mounts. Not dealing in good faith and looking to scam work from someone they assumed would not double check their diagnosis.

My front was making a squeaking noise. I brought my car to this location and they advised me that I needed new breaks. They gave me an option to go back with after market or factory. I chose factory and spent a few hundred dollars more. I get the car home and the breaks was squeaking, I go back there and they said that I also needed new rotors. So I agree to have the rotors replaced with factory parts once again. A day later I pick my Pacifica up and no sooner I get home and the breaks are squeaking once again.... I go back there holding my cool and they advised me that they made a mistake and the back breaks needed to be replaced. I pay for that. I get home and the car is still squeaking!!! I call up upset and he said that at this point I needed new rotors in the back. I pay for the rotors now on the back. I get the car back and the breaks was still squeaking! Mike the manager there told me that they were short handed and that helped put the equipment on and that he would change everything under warranty and HE would personally put the equipment on. I allowed this and when I got the car back the car was still squeaking when I applied the breaks. I bring the car to another service station and they looked it over and they told me that who enter out the breaks in in the front and back that they was misaligned and the metal was rubbing up against the rotors! They gave me pictures and a paper invoice showing that. I bring the car back there again and I show the pictures to Mike and the statement and they at that point agreed to bring the car to a dealership and have them do the job. They did the job and my wife and I was driving there to pick up the vehicle. The dealership I called when in route and they told me that the car was already picked up from shell. Over 30 minutes ago.i ask the dealership if they used factory parts and they said that they did not. That if they did the word MOPAR would be all over the equipment I turn around and it was not. My wife and I go to the station. I went to shell to wait for my car outside and I told them what I found out. 30 minutes I wait outside and finally the car pulls up. They tried to take my car into their bay and I refused to allow them to go into the bay with my car. Mike started to yell at me and he took my key. He refused to give it back and I sat in my car and I refused to let them take the car into the bay. I call the police. While waiting I search the car and there was no parts in the car even though the dealership advised me that the pick up guy out the parts in the back. The only thing that was in the back is grease all over, and in the front door. The driver removed the parts out of my car before he made it back to the station as he found out I was waiting there. He either threw the parts away or returned them back to the store where they pry ought them. If this is the case then they committed fraud, unethical and dishonest place. I am now going to attempt to open a fraud case against this location. I also am going to dispute the charges on my credit card. I will never bring my car back to this rip off company ever again! Lesson learned. Not happy at all and I also filed an insurance claim against the station for the grease all over my car. Also the spare tire storage clip is broken from them. While outside the manager Mike was not only cussing me but made the comment that he will not allow white privileged attitude. I recorded the entire confrontation outside and I will be putting the video on YouTube, as well as tick toc and any other public social media I can think of. What a Nightmare!

I recently took my car for inspection at a different location and was informed that there were several repairs needed, totaling up to $240. I authorized the repairs, but was later asked to approve an additional repair that would a least be an additional $100 diagnostic and bringing total up to $340 and I still don’t have a firm estimate. I declined and brought my car to Shell car repair location where it passed with flying colors and only needed one repair that cost $185. As it turned out, the previously indicated need for a serpentine belt was unnecessary and the belt could last a few more years. Overall, I was very satisfied with the service and personal attention received.Very honest and they saved the day for me.

I stopped on the gas station to add the air to the tires, that was my first time doing it in the U.S. The tire compressor was new for me and didn’t really know how to use it - the men who was working that time showed me how to do it and did it for me. He didn’t have to do that, but he did and was really nice. I really appreciate that. Thank you.

This place will scam you during the safety inspection, probably with the wipers. If they're willing to cheat with something so petty, I can only imagine the gouging they do for actual repairs.

Don't wait your time here. Scam artists. The manager was trying to tack on more money when I went in for an inspection.
