Shopped here weekly since the pandemic began because it has to be one of the least popular stores in the area, which is a positive when trying to social distance. I continued to shop here because it's easy to get in and out and the store has all that I need. The store is run down and tired, but that has never been an issue for me.
But I've decided I need to start going elsewhere because consistently this store only has one cashier on the weekend. Morning, afternoon, doesn't matter. One cashier. At least once there were zero.
I used to often go to the self check out, there are about 6 registers and never has a line, but recently a man named Chad has been policing self checkout and not allowing anyone with more than a few items to come through. Even if there are multiple self check outs open and 3 people waiting for the single cashier, you have to wait in the line too. Really annoying to wait 10 minutes when I can get my cart checked out myself in just a few minutes. If you plan to do your weekly full shop and like to be efficient, don't go here.

To an outstanding employee named Chad. There was a discrepancy on the price of an on sale item and he didn't even question me on it or had a manager check. I was telling the truth and without hesitation he took my word for it and discounted the item telling me the whole time not to worry and he believes me. A wonderful example of customer service!

Pharmacy has been so good to us for many years. Grateful for their time and attention. Excellent location. Certainly room for improvement, but the store size makes it easy to get in and out.

It keeps getting worse. Wilted lettuce most of the time. I could not get the product on sale that I wanted and they refused to give me a raincheck. They asked me to come back the following day because they were going to restock it, supposedly. It did not happen. After the third time I went there, they gave me the raincheck, just because it was the last day of the sale. As another customer said, it's a shame that such rundown supermarket exists in this area. It should be a place with fresh produce and helpful staff. Unfortunately. It's the opposite.To the owner: you don't have to respond to my review. I already know your answer. You'll pass on my review to the management team....

I have been going to this pharmacy for a little over a year now as a backup pharmacy to get my high dose, very uncommon, very hard-to-get medication for headaches. Pharmacists Srivani (Rx manager), Alex, and Shannon have all been extremely helpful to me, and they are always very pleasant to work with. They always pick up the phone almost immediately and they are very quick to fill my medication even if their drug shipment arrived minutes ago. I am very thankful to have them as pharmacists.

The only place I am able to find watercress! Lots of Vitamins K. Much needed today in a healthy diet. Plus your customer service is amazing. And we get a discount for rewards. I'm definitely going to recommend your store. Whether you are local or you're just passing through stop on by and get the things you need. Thank you for the great experience

I’m so sad this is the closest grocery store to me house lol.. never have I consistently brought home produce in multiple shopping trips to have it be close to expiring or pretty much expired. As in, potatoes with sprouts that have gone green and onion and garlic that have sprouted as well. Everything is just bad from this store. With the prices we pay, it’s such a shame to spend it on food you can’t even eat without cutting off all the bad parts. For such a well to do area, it’s honestly unacceptable. I unfortunately will have to travel further to find a store that actually has produce that isn’t rotting. Who would have thought ?

Checking online to discover where, near me, I could buy wild rice in bulk, I learned that the Fairfax Safeway on Willard Way offered it, and went to buy some today. After searching in vain throughout the store, I tried to question an employee who was stocking shelves. He didn't speak enough English to do anything more for me than indicate he didn't speak enough English. Next, I approached a female employee who recommended an aisle I'd already checked, only to find that it didn't sell bulk ANYthing. She tried to inquire of another employee, but didn't seem to understand what "wild rice in bulk" is, and asked that colleague about "a bulk of wild rice." I then approached THAT employee, only to have her turn her back on me and commence assisting another customer who'd arrived later than I, while I was still in the middle of uttering my first sentence. Atrocious experience!

You never have any type of hand wipes or sanitizer at the door. I am a senior and now have the flu from shopping at this store!Get with the program and have some respect for your patrons! Hand wipes & sanitizer please!!

I saw this happen often during the pandemic and thought they were done doing this, but the few times that I go to Safeway, I still see this kind of thing -- food heavily discounted to get you to grab them all up, only to find out that they are all way past their expiration or best-by dates. In this case, soup from Feb 2023 being sold in October 2023. I feel bad for people who grab this up and never check, wondering why their food tastes "off".
