This place has taken care of our little love bird for the past few years and prioritizes seeing & caring for her, particularly if it's an emergency. I would recommend this place if you have an exotic pet, the doctors are kind, knowledgeable and responsive.

The doctor was excellent! Very though and personable. The technicians did a wonderful job grooming my parrots' nails and beak, as usual. I wouldn't trust anyone else but Pender with my feathered kids, and it's great they have Sunday availability! I highly recommend Pender for birds and other exotics.

Wonderful experience by kind caring experts. From the first moment scheduling an appointment on the phone to the lovely informative experience with the patient vet, I highly recommend this provider. My daughter was distraught at the sickness of her beloved guinea pig and the vet was beyond kind to her which is what mattered to me most. Thank you !

I called and was seen the same morning at their exotic emergency department. I loved that I could tell that the staff and veterinarians loved animals and I trusted that they would do everything they could to patch up my girl. She was in and out in 3 hours and I was sent home with a lot of medication and thorough instructions. Highly recommend!!

Pender Veterinary Clinic’s Exotic Animal care is exceptional. My daughter and grandchildren’s bunny, Mister Black Spot (a white lion head with distinctive black markings) was give a thorough examination and received a vaccination quickly and skillfully. The Veterinarians are knowledgeable and careful to explain and the staff are gentle with the patients and their families.

We had a feral momma get hit by a car, and, though she tragically didn't make it, she had a baby kitten (maybe 9-12 days old) that Pender saved. The staff there was incredibly helpful, kind, and ultimately saved a tiny life that will hopefully be someone's forever fuzzy buddy.

Dr. Ravee Padte and team were amazing throughout our emergency visit. He was very thoughtful, kind, thorough, and helpful with my dog while she was in their care and for aftercare.

For almost 30 years, I have been taking my dogs to Pender for care. Dr. Yong has been taking care of my youngest for the last 3 years - he is very attentive and courteous. Always ensures all questions are answered.

I recently brought my 12-year-old Puggle, Elee, to this vet after noticing concerning symptoms and worsening cataracts. After a check-up, they diagnosed her with diabetes, telling me she was in too poor of a condition to benefit from insulin treatments. They strongly advised euthanasia, explaining the treatments would be costly and that most people regret putting their pet through them.
I noticed the lack of professionalism right away as they were chatting and giggling outside the room I was sobbing in.
While it was an extremely difficult decision, I trusted their advice and said goodbye to my best friend. A week later, I received a bill of $968, which had never been discussed with me beforehand. Upon requesting an itemized breakdown, I discovered I had been charged double for the euthanasia. They told me it was an “error” and they took the extra charge off but If I hadn’t asked for the bill they would have taken my money.
This experience has been incredibly painful, and I can’t help but feel taken advantage of. The lack of transparency around costs and the lack of care shown afterward make me question if a second opinion might have been a better option for my beloved Elee. This was a traumatic experience, and I expected far more compassion and professionalism during such a sensitive time.
