We used Little River Vet for years but have been without a pet for a while. But we now have dog and cat and are so glad Little River (now Pender) is still available for the excellent care we had previously.

I am honestly mind blown right now. After mentioning to the receptionist that I was coming to them based on a referral, somehow in trying to figure out a time to have my cat come in as a new patient, the conversation went from us figuring out the best time, to being put on hold so the receptionist can speak with the vet tech about whether Saturday would be an option, and when she came back on the phone, I was no longer allowed to schedule an appointment and would not be accepted as a new patient. I would love to speak with whomever is in charge if they read this.

My dog was sick and my old Vet couldn’t get her on the schedule for one month. Pender fit me in the next day. Great staff, took care of my dog. Professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Recommend.

Blood tests for Mina the cat today were done quickly and didn't bother Mina much. Dr Downs quickly contacted me with test results as we figure out the next steps for Mina. The same excellent standard of care is provided by Dr Downs and her staff of vet techs. I've been bringing my cats to her for over 20 years. Best decision ever.

The Dr Downs and the staff here is amazing. They work endlessly with limited staff and they make sure your fur babies get all the care, extra love and maybe a few treats they need! Best staff ever!!!

This location is the first vet I took my cat to immediately after I adopted her. She was 2 at the time. I was very concerned as a first-time cat owner since my little Eden started having severe symptoms of an unknown condition. I grew up with indoor and outdoor cats, but I never had experienced anything like this. I got her to the clinic as early as I could. The staff was incredibly rude to me. I didnt have much of a baseline for Edens condition since I had just adopted her and her normal behavior was not known to me. I told them I would do anything to help her not be in pain and to find out what was wrong. After several appointments, a diet of their recommended brand of food (they insisted that I buy this food ONLY), and hundreds of dollars in bills, they finally told me that they did not know what was wrong with her. They said that if the food they gave me didn't correct her symptoms, then it was not diet problem. They then decided to prescribe her very expensive antidiarrehal medication in the form of an oral pill and told me to administer it by dropping it down her throat and insisted on stool samples EVERY VISIT (They said they had to keep taking them because they could not get enough). This caused so much stress for Eden, because she was not used to being handled yet. To say the least, my cat went through a whole lot of discomfort, and I was furious when they dismissed my concern for the treatment not working. I finally decided to take her to another vet. They gave me a diet plan with a different anti-allergenic food. Eden's symptoms went away immediately. I'm happy to say that since then she has had no symptoms, and is a very healthy and happy cat. I wish I knew what I know today about Little River Veterinary Clinic, so I thought this review was long overdue for the community.
