I had a very good experience with Hi-Tech Transmission. I was referred by my mechanic. They explained everything thoroughly with what needed replacing and were respectful to me even though I did not have much knowledge on car repairs. They fixed my car in a good time frame and my car has not had transmission issues since and it has been a couple years now. Very happy with their service and would take my car there again if need be.

I waited to post a review until how the replacement manual transmission held up and i have to say i am disappointed,
The replacement manual transmission felt like a junkyard transmission thats been sitting for a long time with nothing done to improve or refurbish or rebuilt it, other than a coat of paint and a decal of the company/supplier it was supplied from "which btw.. doesnt offer this transmission anymore last time i checked" the gears randomly grind, shifter is hard to pop out of gear with clutch pedal on floor, shifter never returned to center in neutral position because it sticks halfway left side, and 20k miles later..its developed a worn noisy gear/bearing noise despite good 2.3 qts of quality 75w90 fluid and my car feels like it is dragging due to the worn internals , plus they notified me of a glazed hotspotted flywheel but never bothered to do or offer a service to rectify it "replace, resurface or light machine skimming the flywheel clutch surface" at a local machine shop which i would have happily paid for and now my stage 1 clutch thats only over a year old is slipping , 2 weeks of rental car costing me over $700 and this is what i get...i know transmission shops primarily and commonly do rebuilts on automatics from disassembly, case hot tanking, and reassembly with r&r parts but i feel manuals are poster child,

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE! I was sent here by my regular mechanic when he discovered issues with my drive train that he could not address. After dropping off my car, they called and gave me the news that I had several thousands of dollars of repairs needed on the drive train. My car is paid off so I thought it would be worth it to repair rather than buying a new vehicle. After picking up my car, I noticed that the odometer was blinking and my parking sensor was unavailable. I did some research and decided to take it to the dealer to see if it was a computer issue they could fix. They told me that the drive train module had short circuited. I told them I had very recently had work done to the drive train and asked the dealer if it was related. They said they thought it was and to take it back to Hi Tech Transmissions so they could remedy the damage since it was most likely related to the work they did. I took it to Hi Tech and they claimed that it was not related and told me the additional repair to fix it would be $1200! I told them that I did NOT want this repair because my dealer had quoted me a smaller amount to do that work. I sent a relative to pick up the car. When he got there, they asked him about the repair, and thinking he was helping me out, he said yes and put down a deposit. He is not the car owner, not my spouse, and in no way had the authority to override my decision (but he is a man and I am a woman so perhaps they thought he knew better than me). When I called them to reverse the charge on the deposit that was on my relative's credit card, they agreed but said that we would have to pay a restocking fee of $90 because they had ordered the part. I was upset and argued this because they made the mistake of ordering it when I had already clearly said no to the repair. Not to mention, after the work they did originally, my brakes (which they also worked on) are so squeaky I can't drive with my window open because of the sound. I don't even want to take it back to them to fix because I am afraid they will try to charge me for this even though it is absolutely because of the work they did to car. This place has been nothing but a headache! Just take your car somewhere else!

Mike’s shop was recommended to me by other local mechanic (which speaks to their reputation in itself). Had been having issues with vibration/shuddering with my truck and had spent hundreds of dollars at a dealership service center with what they had misdiagnosed as tire/balance/alignment issues. Mike and his team were quickly able to diagnose the issue and offered am affordable fix rather than upselling a full transmission replacement. My truck hasn’t run this well in years. Thank you Mike and team for your honesty and great work. I’d recommend them to anyone needing transmission services on their vehicle.

Gary was so helpful. I am a widow, and live in Louisiana . My daughter is in Virginia. I was referred to him. I’m helpless over here lol, to get it fixed here . He is awesome and made me feel so much better and gave me a very fair price. I knew I didn’t have to worry after that. That’s a blessing to me.

We were on a long-awaited road trip, our first major road trip, when suddenly... on the Friday before Memorial Day... check engine light and slow acceleration.
I called a half dozen repair shops until finally one agreed to diagnose the check engine codes right before the Holiday. They told me we had a serious transmission problem and recommended Hi-Tech. Since I'm from out of town, I went for it!
Hi-Tech was professional, friendly, clear in their communication and delivered on their commitment to get the transmission fixed ASAP. Gary was easy to work with and Tony was helpful.
Thanks Hi-Tech for getting us back on the road! Life is good!

This shop is honest and upfront. No charge to check my car. Honda didn't even have a record of the appointment I made. Hi tech gave me answers within 24 hrs .
