Never go this place, he rips off. I used to go to U-Haul get propane $4.60 per gallon, this guy charges $18 for gallon.

Reviews are accurate - owner is rude and refuses to sell by weight or volume (pound or gallon). $35 to fill an empty tank, or a random amount to fill a partial tank. He goes by “portion of fill” but refuses to use a scale, so it’s just him deciding what to charge you for a partial fill. My tank was at least half full, just wanted a top up, he filled it first then said “ok that’s $27”. If an empty 20lb fill is $35, a half fill should be half of that. When I asked how he determined how much he’d filled, he just said “it’s done by portion of fill and that’s what our legal says and that’s all I can tell you”. Won’t be back.

I wanted to support a local business but this place is a Total Rip Off.They have a gauge right there to measure how much propane they are giving you, but the grumpy owner refuses to use it. If you want one gallon or 5 gallons, they charge you the exact same price to refill a tank, which as several people point out, defeats the entire purpose of going to a propane refill center. It's like going to the gas station and paying a flat fee for a full tank of gas in your car no matter what is left in your tank - complete nonsense. On top of that, their per-gallon charge is well well above regular prices in the area. You are definitely better off going somewhere else (U-haul, Tractor Supply, etc.) unless you love to throw money away.Did I mention the guy there is the grumpiest person I've ever seen run a customer service business?? Sorry, am I bothering you by coming to your establishment? Usually I love to find an actual local business to go to, but this place is pure robbery. What a shame...

Excellent customer service! Read a few comments regarding his prices, but he is a small business and provides 100 times better customer support than the other big brand companies. I'll keep shopping here!

Veteran owned business, who knows his stuff. Station is a throwback to non-corporate individual owned businesses. I enjoy getting a full tank of propane as opposed to swapping out tanks, which are 5 pounds light of being full (Blue Rhino).

The attendance person at this store is really rude, I was there at 7:10 am trying to get some propane tank fittings and gauges and when I asked about it, he said some bad words and told me to get it at Home Depot

Great place to go to pay twice as much for propane than virtually every other retailer charges. Never again.

Quickly the salesman grabbed the propane tank from me and stared refilling. He said $35. It was a rip off. He changed me more than $8 for each gallon of propane. There is no price posting in that place. Be careful.

I highly recommend this place! Vietnam veteran owned and top-quality immediate service! I can't say enough good things about fairfax propane Jim immediately solved a propane hose issue for me that I'd messed with for days I had ordered a hose online w connectors I needed --they looked good but they did not work when I actually tried them I Had taken hose to another place in the area with no successful solution. No one does this these days Jim stopped the work he was doing when I came in this morning, tested to verify cause of problem, and then rebuilt my online-purchased hose w a good quick connect fitting Tested It for me and took my $20 ("unfortunately this is going to be expensive. It's a top quality fitting," he'd said--ha! I would've paid more than that just to get my problem fixed or find the right hose, but nobody has the particular hose configuration I needed) I will tell you, don't be put off by the appearance of Fairfax propane store front If you need something propane related done quality and even custom, he is your man. He also fills propane tanks :-) In business 40 years Right across the road from the nice new Harley dealership
