This is an excellent locally owned business. They have a strong gift selection (candles, records, uniquely sourced items) and neat food items. It gives a nice general store vibe to downtown Fairfax with friendly staff.

No longer live in the area but this is always a top stop on my list when I am. Great owners who run the place, always introducing new items. Great coffee selection from Bones and BRCC, huge jerky selection, lots of snacks, lots of local goods (chocolates, candles, BBQ spices). Good quality treat selection for your favorite puppy dog. Vinyl records and cassette tapes. For a small shop they have a large selection of stuff. Can't imagine anyone leaving empty-handed!

We love this shop! We've purchased online for years but finally made the trip for the first time today. It's beautifully decorated and will certainly put you in the Christmas spirit if you need a boost this time of year. We loved the variety of products and saw so many unique items that you just can't find anywhere these days. The welcome we received from the gracious shopkeeps added to the great experience we had. I have yet to step a foot in the store, only because I live on the West Coast. But I order online all the time and their selection of Jerkey is top notch. And even though it is a small store their selection of music is better then my local record store.

Hours listed online do not match actual store hours. I drove here ready to overpay the portly business owner for poorly manufactured unoriginal t-shirts, overpriced pretzels, and bottled soda, but found the ship closed. Where else can i pay $25 for a $10 candle? Alas, thank goodness I wasn't looking for a pizza crusade at 1130am on a Tuesday.

What a quirky little place this is, staffed by the chillest and kindest folks in the biz. This is my go-to for gifts for my husband. Hot honey and fun sauces? Check. Locally-roasted coffee? Check. Weird candies he hasn't thought about since the 80s? Check (in spades). We're lucky to have this fun shop in Old Town.

This is a great place for unique snacks, candy, drinks and even a selection of hand picked vinyl. Friendly small business in downtown Fairfax. So good I drive 50 mins to visit.

One of the most unique shops in all of Northern Virginia. Come for your country music records but stay for the best smelling candles, coffee, and unique pouches of jerky! They do fantastic events (like Christmas in June) with the best customer service. Make it a priority stop if heading through Old Town Fairfax!

Best store in Northern Virginia! They've got a huge selection of beef jerky. Their candles are amazing. All the nostalgia based candy you could ask for! And they even have great selection of vinyl music! And don't forget to grab an ice cold Cheerwine!

What's not to love about Commonwealth Dry Goods? Ownership is fantastic, friendly and helpful. The selection of good is outstanding, featuring a wide variety of candles, records, spices, peanuts, and sweet treats. Every item is a winner, because ownership won't sell anything they themselves wouldn't want to buy. Highly recommend.
