This shelter does amazing work. I got my furever pup from here and any questions or concerns I had along the way/adoption questions were all answered very fast. I also volunteer here and I always see the staff doing the absolute best they can for all the animals there. I’d highly recommend rescuing an animal from here :))

After searching for a dog online for over a month from various places, my family and I found a few dogs we liked at Homeward Trails Animal Rescue. We submitted an application, and they responded quickly, inviting us to visit their center that weekend to meet the dogs. During our visit, we met some of the dogs that were at the center and ultimately chose Milo (previously named Hammer). We signed the adoption agreement that same day and brought him home the next day. The entire process was smooth and efficient. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, offering advice, explaining available resources, and answering all of our questions. Milo had been neutered just a few days before we adopted him, and they provided us with guidance on how to care for him during his recovery, along with some medication and food. We are thrilled with the whole experience and absolutely adore our new family member, Milo!

My wife and I have both adopted dogs and volunteered our time at HTAR. The staff clearly love the animals and are doing great work here. Adopting an animal always carries some risk but HTAR works with you as much as possible to set both you and the animals up for success.

We adopted our dog, Benji, from Homeward Trails about 1 year ago. We had a great experience with them. They were friendly, knowledgable, and transparent throughout the whole adoption process. A great rescue organization and would definitely recommend coming here to adopt. We absolutely love our dog and are forever grateful!

That place is very expensive I don't recommend it for Hispanics where we eat that doesn't have to be like that

Homeward trails is an amazing organization that brought me my soul dog, Shirley during Covid lockdown in 2020. Forever grateful and I’ll continue recommending friends & family to homeward trails.

They work so hard for the furbabies. You can tell they really care about what they do.

I do not usually give reviews but this organization is very unprofessional, or at least the coordinators I have dealt with. Lois is probably the worst of them all. She is very rude and unprofessional. I’ve seen reviews of her here and I was convinced I am not the only one. She treats people like we don’t know how to take care a dog and she probably gets a pleasure from it. She wants to be superior and she likes to tell people what to do. I adopted Bonnie/Brandy a month ago and I just surrendered her because I experienced behavioral issues. She’s blaming me because Bonnie and I didn’t work out. Now I want to get another dog, then Lani came into picture. She’s telling me that she’s concerned that I am not able to add another mouth to feed in my family because I have a lot going on in my life. Wow, very judgmental. I probably earned way higher than her and she’s judging my financial situation. This organization needs to train their staff on customer service and manners. I will make sure this reaches the CEO or something.

Sue Bell was extremely rude when we simply reached out to inquire about rescuing an abandoned dog that came into our lives. Her “help” was simply telling us to take her to the shelter. Thank you Sue Bell for that brilliant advice.
