My son attended this school in 2016 and to date I contribute our experience with the loss of practicing Christianity in my life. Very backwards discipline, lack of patience and compassion. Anyone who suspends 6 year olds from instructional time (school days) based solely on the fact of normal 6 year old engagement challenges should no longer we allowed to teach any children. My son is an amazing teen now, well respectful kid, and they mapped him out to be troubled. He still to this day remembers the trauma he endured at this school.

Though the sermon is different every Sunday, the message is the same: Glorify God and Evangelize the World. If you're ever in the area and want a place where you can hear the saving gospel message of Jesus Christ presented in a clear and direct way, or want to join a church where the community is loving and uplifting, be sure to visit Fairfax Baptist Temple!Sunday Morning Service starts at 10:00 AMSunday Evening Service starts at 5:00 PMWednesday Evening Service starts at 7:00 PM

Before I begin I just want to say that different experiences may vary. I am still a student, but I went to this place in 3rd and 4th grade, and I am in 8th now. As a result, I got diagnosed with anxiety and still suffer from panic attacks today, and even battled suicidal thoughts due to this school's people and teachings. I went into the 5th grade with such low confidence, that I refused not to present a project in front of my class, and my faith in Christ got weaker by the day. I am not writing to criticize, but only to inform. I hope one day these people understand what they are indoctrinating in students is horrible, and are held accountable for their actions as well as repent and choose to love others, and that future students receive the love that I never did at this school.

As a prior student many years ago, I agree with a previous reviewer. This church/school has left me with some serious scars. Until I became an adult, I didn’t realize the extent of emotional bullying and brainwashing that goes on here. I’m sure my parents thought in the beginning that they were doing the right thing by taking my sister and I out of public schools. What they didn’t know was that FBTA was not an accredited school, therefore the only college I could get into was a religious collage (like Bob Jones) or a community college. I was treated horribly by the staff and students because I was not a member of the church. But what I realize now is that this church (the Calverts) hid behind their religion and intimidated members into emptying their pockets and their brains into the offering plates every Sunday. Young people are manipulated and taught that if you are not a member of FBT or another Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Church you will go straight to hell when you die. What a horrible thing to teach a child, that all your neighbors, friends and family are on a straight path to eternal hell. Not to mention the unhealthy 6 inch rule that turns young people with normal feelings into monsters of the devil. Be prepared to send your children to therapy for the rest of their lives if you subject them to this cult!!

I Love This Church? These Are The Most Caring Human Beings. I Walked Into The Church For The First Time 4 Years ago . I Was Dressed Like A Homeless Person. But I Was Accepted As A Family Member. I Was At The Bottom And This Church Prayed And Prayed And God Helped Me. And So Did The Church. When I Was Homeless And Gave Up On Life They Helped Get Back On My Feet. They Never Gave Up. They Never Left Me. God and The Church Were Always By My Side . And Nothing Is Impossible. A Kid Raised In The Streets Drugs/Gangs/Violence Changed Because Of God. This Church Never Threw Me Out Because Of My Past Or How I Looked Instead They Took Me In And Showed Me Love And Kindness.I Love Fairfax Baptist Temple❤❤????

So, my family found this church via online reviews about a year ago and I loved the church. As a military family, we sometimes have issues finding a new church that will fit well for our family of 5, and we thought we had found a home. The sermons seemed good and based in bible with a built up children's program. However, we started to detect issues. Boys and girls are separated for activities which was disconcerting to my oldest. Then, the ministers indicated that I would not be able to participate or help in the classrooms for my own children if I wasn't a full fledged member. Membership is a spiritual decision and shouldn't be forced. Finally, the first week of Awana this year they turned my girls away at the door (My girls attended all year last year) because we were not members. First of all, I am a 7 year leader with Awana at three separate churches and Awana is a missions program. If you exclude children from this program, it is no longer Awana; it is something else. As my 7 yr was crying at being told that they wouldn't take her, we decided that we wouldn't be back. I would strongly advise not attending this church. There are other churches and it took 2 Sundays to find a better church that is actually led by the spiritual leanings of the word and Jesus' message to bring the children unto him.

Extremely legalistic, fanatically KJV only obsessed, far RIGHT WING and very militaristic. One service they had a military color guard in the service. In this house we teach our kids to worship God and God alone, not the United States military or our country. Reminds me of what the Nazis were doing in churches across Europe in 1939. If music from the caveman period is your thing, this might be just the church for you assuming you can handle uppity people, and sermons that regularly pervert the actual meaning of a scriptural text for sake of their agenda. Anyone that reads the Bible much or has studied it will not be able to stay here. I'm sorry we called this church for over two years and hope this posting helps someone else avoid the same mistake. Take your time and find a healthy, well balanced church with a plurality of elders instead of a pastor who thinks it's his place to RULE over other believers.
