I was there for an art show & wine tasting. The grounds are nice and quaint. However the wine is not my taste. I’m from Germany and was looking for a wine that’s similar to Rhine, Riesling etc. not here. The stile of wine is S. African ? It might suit someone else.

AMAZING! The vineyard hosted an artisan show and the turn out was really great. The owners Stephen and Adrienne were there and very involved. Their manager Liz did a great job organizing the event and everyone in attendance had a great time. If you have not visited the Vineyard please put it on your calendar to go soon!

We always love the wine, and staying at the cabin here. We have visited four times and it’s always been well worth it. Honorable mention to Buck, their endearing rescue dog, who always is running around the vineyard.

Discovering my favorite Virginia winery is akin to finding a hidden gem in the heart of wine country. The inviting atmosphere and scenic vineyard create a perfect backdrop for an unforgettable experience. The wines, a symphony of flavors, showcase the region's terroir with finesse. What sets this winery apart is not just the quality of the vintages but the genuine passion of the staff, making each tasting session a journey into the art and soul of winemaking. Whether you're a seasoned enthusiast or a casual visitor, this winery promises a delightful blend of hospitality and exceptional wines, leaving you with cherished memories.

We were excited to try Delfosse and visited on a Saturday. Waited 20+ minutes to order a bottle of wine at the counter (had two people working but neither addressed us or tried to serve promptly). When we finally got up to the counter to order, we weren't given any history on the winery or the wines themselves. Overall spent way more on a bottle of rose that we could hardly drink.

Lovely winery off the beaten path. We visited Delfosse Vineyards on a Saturday afternoon, and it was decently busy with plenty of tables to sit at. Many of their wines have won medals in competitions, and the Cabernet Franc we tried was delicious. The setting is peaceful and idyllic with no traffic noise (besides from arriving or departing patrons). The fountain on the pond provides a pleasant trickling sound as well. Delfosse Vineyards doesn't have the best view of the surrounding area, but it is peaceful and features great wine. I would recommend giving them a try if you enjoy wine.

An absolutely outstanding experience at Delfosse/Mountain and Vine this weekend. One of the few places left offering a traditional, personal, in depth proper tasting! The wines are extraordinary and the staff is very accommodating. Well worth the trek to get there. Picnics welcome. We appreciated that.

Don't let the long gravel road turn you off, this is a great vineyard with beautiful views and award winning wine. A new hidden favorite for me!

Excellent selection of traditional wines, wonderful views and most gracious staff who answered our endless questions during a tasting and after a glass regarding specifics of aging, bottling and harvest for a couple complete wine nerds (us). We had a glass of their Sav Blanc which was a nice super light wine with plenty of notes on the tropical citrus side of things with a gentle oak roundness that was really well timed. We took home a bottle of the Petit Manseng which is one of the best in varietal for us personally in the many wineries we have visited in the Virginia and North Carolina wine regions. The properties is excellent with a little pond next to the tasting room surrounded by the vineyards above you on the hillsides. A little bridge crossing the pond is a nice viewpoint and a great place to finish the last of your wine before you leave.

They won 3 (2023) gold medals and the Cup so we decided to pay a visit. The route we took to get there was on the backroads of Nelson County, down gravel roads. The winery is in a beautiful setting with rolling hills, a large pond wonderful and welcoming owners. They just got a new Great Pyrenees for patrolling the grounds to protect the crops at night and he is so full of life. 1920 -1970 it was an orchard, then bought by a lumber company, sold to the Delfosses which they turned into a vineyard. The new owners bought it after the previous owners passed away. This vineyard has a few medals to its name. Worth the trip, you won't be disappointed.

Beautiful location, but a long drive down a gravel road to get to, so not so pleasant. Wines were tasty and slightly less expensive for a tasting than comparable wineries in the area. Sommelier was very friendly and knowledgeable.

We had our wedding at Delfosse in November and it was stunning! The ceremony site on the hilltop overlooking the vineyard and tasting room was such an idyllic place to get married. Their team was very helpful and responsive to all of our questions. Even the owner, Mike, spent lots of time getting to know us and guiding us through the process. Everything was set up perfectly and couldn't have gone more smoothly. Delfosse will hold a special place in our hearts forever.

One of the few wineries left in Virginia who actually still does authentic, personal tastings post Covid. Most wineries now offering flights in lieu of proper tastings. I can get a flight of wine anywhere. Tastings are now a rare service offering thankfully continued by Delfosse. We really enjoyed the personal service at this charming, remote, incredibly beautiful winery. This winery is a step back in time in the most lovely ways: all the wines are made from grapes grown on the property, the owner is passionate about his wines and he is enthusiastic about spending time sharing them with you, there are no lines, no crowds. Bring your picnic bring your board games, bring your dog, kick back, spend the afternoon. We felt so welcome and relaxed. We're red wine lovers who were beyond impressed with the Grinning Fox, the Cab Sav, and their meritage. But wow - the whites! The petit manseng, the voignier, and the Deer Rock White - we are converts! Definitely can't wait to come back to this lovely family farm where they make you feel like family, too. The wines are exceptional.
