Avoid at all costs. Hateful, lazy carrier serving Sunburst rd. Don't expect USPS to resolve the issue either. Just use UPS or FedEx.

They were perfectly helpful and I don't understand the bad reviews. They helped my friend mail her boyfriend a birthday present in minutes

Theresa is awful. She is the only one working whenever I go in. She's repeatedly rude to me and I see her treating other customers the same way.

A quick stop to drop off postcards. Yes, the post office is closed at 7:30 PM but there's a big parking area with a lane next to the mailbox so I was able to send off the cards that I bought at the D-Day Memorial yesterday. From the outside, the post office is clean and tidy with no litter in the parking lot. [Review 15083 overall, 585 of 2021, number 1299 in Virginia.]

I'm not sure of the employees name, but I suspect it may be the same employee mentioned in one of the other reviews--an older lady, with an atmosphere of attitude. She also rejected my package, advising me it was "media mail" and was inappropriately labeled. Confused (I was mailing the package for my husband and didn't label it myself), and busy for the rest of the day, I had to hire a baby sitter the next day and went to the Odd Fellows location where they very nicely asked how they could help me. They examined the package, said it was clearly not marked media mail, then said there was nothing wrong with it at all and was ready to ship. So, my package was a day late, and I wasted 2 hours of my time on a busy work day. Just a heads up, I have also heard terrible things about the Rivermont location if you want to ship more than one package every year. Just laziness and incompetence. I would skip any location but Odd Fellows if I were you.

I walked into this post office to mail 3 packages and I clearly stated that I was mailing them as "media" mail. The employee named "Theresa" began putting in my info and then asked if there was anything liquid, fragile or perishable inside and I said "No." (Keep in mind "media" mail is classified as books, cassettes or DVDs.) Then she asked "What's inside the envelope?" At this point she comes off as a bit invasive because I have already stated my packages were "media" mail, so I said "Excuse me?" She again asked me "What's inside the package?" I told her, "A book," unsure of which package she had because I mail books AND DVDs out on the regular at that office. After the transaction I had my receipt printed out then left. I thought about how she didn't throw the envelopes in the bin like normal and something told me to go back inside. She was gone. This woman had went into the back and cut open my package and then bandaged up the rip with tape.....and THEN threw it into the bin to be mailed out. Naturally, I was pissed at this level of unprofessionalism because I do not mail out correspondence in a disheveled manner. I asked her why she CUT OPEN my mail and her response was, "You placed doubt in my mind and I had the right to open it!" The envelopes were all FLAT in appearance and I could not figure out WHAT she thought was inside the packages. I asked for the manager and she said there was no manager there and I would have to go to the Odd Fellows Road location. I called that office about ten times in the course of 4 hours and NO ONE EVER ANSWERED THE PHONE. Disgusting. I was late to my appointment (about 5 blocks away) as a result of this incident and when I told the lady who was interviewing me why I was late, I told her. She knew exactly who I was speaking of and said that she too, has a problem with that same employee. Then another co-worker of hers who overheard the conversation chimed in that SHE ALSO knew the individual to be nasty and described her perfectly. It's very evident this woman is not liked and has a BAD reputation. DISGUSTING.

Rude employee. Went in to get a stamp for oversized envelope. She threw the stamp on upside down. I asked if it needed to be right side up? And her reply was "well you can peel it off and put it right side up yourself if you want to. NEXT!"

Post Office Located on 12th and the corner of Clay Street, it is a stones throw from the Lynchburg city Courthouse (thus the name). This place is sparkly and new looking with a tiny parking lot. Folks working here are efficient and get you on your way in short order. Can be crowded at lunch time during the week but positively dead on Saturdays. You know what they sell and how they operate, so no need to go into all of that. Give them a shot if in the area.
