My mother was being transferred from Inova Fairfax, luckily we got to the facility before she left the hospital. When we first entered the receptionist was laying across the chairs in the lobby with her shoes off yelling into her cellphone, she finally ask to help us. She told me she was in the first room on right. I walked neither patient was my mom. When I went to ask the receptionist again she wanted to argue with me that that was my mom. She told use to go see the Supervisor, as we walked down the hall a gentleman was sitting in a wheelchair with his pants down and fecal matter on both hands. The supervisor did not know anything about my mother coming and couldn’t answer any questions. The facility was dirty and stunk as we left every staff member we saw was on their phones. I would not let anyone I cared about stay 5 minutes in this place.

Parent was there for 8 months and she experienced the worst care. It took forever for an aide to come and when they did had an attitude My mother was miserable her entire stay and was not treated fair by most of the staff. It was like bothering them to do what they were supposed to do. At times it would be almost 2 hours to get changed and ringing the call bell was useless. Hope no one has to go through my depressing last days. The fowlswetthere.as.for help was like you were nowhere g them. The worst decision I ever made an Parent not happy during her stay

Reposting issues with this rehab center I originally posted in yelp approximately early part of September.Iliff NursingDO NOT USE THIS FACILITY. My 86 old mother was taken here for inpatient rehab after a week in the hospital for gall bladder surgery. This place is NOT safe for your loved ones! Do NOT trust them, they have NO integrity. I guarantee they’ll come up with an excuse or an apology for what happened. Please don’t buy into that, because it’s all a lie. Here’s what happened: A patient with dementia walked in my mom’s room half-naked late one night, absolutely terrifying her. He would not leave. She couldn’t move because of surgery incisions, and was trapped. She frantically pushed the call button, thankfully after a few minutes someone came into her room and escorted the partially dressed man out of my mom’s room. The next day I spoke with the social worker who was aware of the incident, she assured us that the man was transferred to another facility, that this has never happened before and that this will never happen again. I asked if they could provide a sitter for my mom as an added layer of security/protection. She said that my mom didn’t qualify for a sitter because they only give sitters to patients that needed to be watched (e.g to prevent falls, prevent self-harm, etc). So we had to hire a licensed sitter. The sitter started at 10 pm through 6am. My family and I worried about retaliation given how upset we all were and the fact that we brought it to their attention. They retaliated. My mom was non-ambulatory and couldn’t go to the bathroom on her own, so she was in diapers. The morning after we reported the incident, the shift change the nurse realized no one had changed her diapers and my mom had a bowel movement at 8pm the night before. She sat in her feces all night. My mom said that she desperately called the nurse all night yet no one came until the nurse came in at 7am. Apparently, the morning shift was very angry that this happened. My mom ended up with severe diaper rash, which is very painful, in addition to the pain of her surgical incisions. On Saturday 9/2/2023 the same demented man walked into my mom’s room before the 10pm sitter arrived. He was again half-naked. This time, he leaned over her bed and said “you’re an American you’re coming with me.” My 86 year-old mother pushed the button for the nurse and was screaming for help. It took nurses longer to arrive, they took the man out of the room, but now my mom was so shaken and traumatized (this now the second time it happened and she cannot move to evade him, again she was trapped in her bed), we had to call 911. We transported her to the hospital for heart attack symptoms, it turned out to be a panic attack. Instead of bringing her back to the facility after the hospital, I took her home. Even though I work long hours and I have no nursing skills (changing diapers, bathing her, etc), I couldn’t let her go back there. Please don’t think this is just a one-time experience, your loved ones are at risk in this facility, you are putting them in harms way when you drop them off. I am reporting them to the state, to Joint Commission, and to other certifying agencies. My family and I may also take legal action. If I could give this place a negative rating I would.◦

Amazing place! My grandma, has been in the facility for a little while now. The staff has taken extremely good care of her! They went above and beyond for her and us. The staff there are very kind and caring and the food is always good. This is so important to our family! None of us ever want to have to put our loved ones in a nursing home, but we can't always give them the best care at home. I appreciate the staff at August HealthcareThank you ❤️

My mother-in-law lived here for her final 6 months, and I am so very grateful to the entire team at Iliff. Every staff member was kind and attentive, from the cleaning person to the nurses and all the support staff and management too. When I visited, I had space to spend time with her in the garden or by the windows in the common area. When I would arrive or leave, she stayed near the nurse window in her wheelchair or was in bed. I asked her during visits if she was happy and she always said yes. Each staff person at Iliff greeted her by name with a smile and a hello.Caring for people with dementia, long term illnesses, and life altering injuries is an incredibly tough and often thankless job. I could see the staff at Iliff genuinely care about the residents and do their best to provide for them everything they can. Every Iliff staff member has my utmost respect. It is not a happy time to have a loved one in a situation that requires a long-term care facility. If you're reading these reviews, you are in a hard place and my heart goes out to you.

This place is horrible, the staff doesn't care and seem to be vengeful if you care to visit your loved ones everyday as if they have to put in effort to act professional infront of you. My father hasn't been cared for properly here, often left ignored despite some simple requests. He's in the later stages of his life and requires help getting dressed and his nurses left him naked in his wheelchair on more than one occasion. Had I not visited, they wouldn't have helped him. The nurses don't care and have attitudes when you ask them for help. My father recently was told he had 72 hours until his discharge, and even the front office wouldn't help us with the process. Horrible place for people to be treated this way. Don't send your lived ones here.

This place is a hot mess. Please don't even consider this facility for your loved ones. Heck, I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place. The staff is uncaring and unprofessional and the food isn't edible. My dad, who is mentally sharp as a tack, was placed in a room with a severely impaired gentleman, who talked, sang and at times yelled most of the day. When his roommate got Covid and subsequently my dad, the roommate was moved and a note was inadvertantly left in my dad's wheelchair stating, "Room change for 48 hours only so we can capture Covid money individually." And that's just the beginning, there are more stories of neglect, staff rudeness and failure of department heads to own their responsibilities. Save yourself and your loved one a lot of stress, anxiety and heartache and bypass this facility entirely.

HORRIBLE living conditions, HORRIBLE meals, HORRIBLE communication, HORRIBLE effort ... I am NOT exaggerating. After visiting an Aunt here, I told my children to seriously just pull the plug on me ... DO NOT allow me to be placed here or ANY place like here. I can go on but I'm going to just keep praying for ALL who have no choice/no voice in their care.
