Friendly staff. Nice community amenities. My only con would be their handicap accessibility. For one they have no handicap parking near the pool or gym, its on the other side away from it. But i guess they had to pick a place and couldn't have it on both sides? Also, their adult pool (which is the closest pool to walk to) is not accessible for independent handicap use and exercise. There's no stairs or way to enter the pool except by jumping or kneeling in to get in. I saw the chair lift but if you just have problems with your legs you want to be independent and not dependent on an apparatus that draws attention to you and makes you dependent. So you are forced to go to the kiddie pool which makes it difficult to move around and exercise (because of children but it's their pool so you can't be mad) and also the depth cause it only gets so deep and so some of the exercises aren't easy to do (i.e., frog jumps). It wouldn't be so hard I would think to make an accessible way people that are physically challenged could access the adult pool nor to add a couple of handicap spots on the other side of the parking lot.

The equipment is great but the hours seriously need to be longer. Between classes and work I can never make it in. It’s frustrating to have something available but never be able to use it.

The Social Barn is good and the residents are friendly. The neighborhood looks nice, but it is deceiving. Potomac Shores is a growing yet deteriorating area that is getting overrun with criminals visiting from outside the development. Be careful if you are thinking about moving here.

My wife and I purchased our home in 2016 and have been extremely pleased with Potomac Shores as a community. As you read these responses, please look beyond the date of February 20th to gain a better perspective of what this community has to offer. This date marked the time when the developers of Potomac Shores decided not to renew the lease of a local landmark known as Tim's Rivershore. Just like many of the disgruntled reviews you are seeing, many of the homeowners were just as surprised with the news. Unfortunately, those posting are not attacking the developers, but rather the community as a whole as they seek revenge. Many of the members within the community have been patrons of Tim's Rivershore. We have participated in many of the events including live bands, fireworks shows and just going there to eat and drink. It was a local watering hole just as it was for people who do not live in Potomac Shores. Even as their anger is misdirected, I hope you take a chance to visit our community. Our community is rich in diversity, not just of color but also economic backgrounds and walks of life. Many of us are prior military, many of us work right alongside the very people who are writing negative comments. Our community is just like any other community and we bought because of that reason. Our community is welcoming, friendly and an amazing place to live. Our homes are no different then many of the others homes in the surrounding area. We love our community and even those who make our community appear what it is not. We are not just Potomac Shores, but we are Dumfries, we are Woodbridge, we are Prince William County.

Had a real laid back time for the reggae on the lawn event. Surprisingly no mosquitoes for an outdoor event.

Very well equipped and clean. Staff is super friendly and always available to assist. There are free weights, all types of machines, cardio equipment (just added two brand new treadmills), and a large group fitness room. There is also a water bottle refilling station and complimentary hand towels. Highly recommend!

We love our home in Potomac Shores and it’s a great place to live. We found our little community in 2019 and have not regretted our purchase! Great neighbors, location, amenities and the views! There are plenty of opportunities to be involved in fun community events or not, you can take your pick and still be a part of a wonderful community. Neighbors look out for each other, support each other and want the best for Potomac Shores and Dumfries community.

Unlike many of the negative reviewers here, I actually live in the Potomac Shores development - have since mid 2015. This is by far the best neighborhood I've lived in, and I've lived in 7 different states.
We have an active community with lots of activities, both planned and spontaneous. We've made tons of friends here. Hiking trails, two schools (soon to be 3 then 4!), golf course, sports fields, etc. The VRE has been delayed, but that was because of CSX - not the developer. Plans for a marina - it keeps growing. The plan is for almost 3000 homes - all contributing to the Dumfries economy and tax base.
The current row is about people upset with Tim's Rivershore's lease not being renewed. The big corporation against the little guy. Remember that Tim's is a thriving business with 4 other locations. He just hasn't made any improvements to Rivershore in years, and the place has gotten a little ratty. Tim was invited to submit a plan for improving the place (along with others) but his proposal didn't meet the bar set by others.

We have lived here since 2018, and have been very happy with PS and its amenities thus far. More than that, the sense of community among the residents is much more apparent here than any other place I've lived.
Please don't spite your neighbors over a business dispute that has nothing to do with them. Your negative reviews may be detrimental to US, whereas the developer, with its deep pockets, is unlikely to be effected in any substantial way. You're only hurting the little guy here.

Most amazing neighborhood I have ever lived in. Family oriented, social, diverse, just a wonderful place to call home and be part of a generous, friendly community.
