Did they close? The last time I was there, there were rotten vegetables and it smelled like something died in there. I don't know what happened but this place is disgraceful. Now to hear the cashier was racist is even worse.

White gentleman saw me at the door. Looked at his dog barking and didn't say anything to me. I asked can I come in he shook his head no. I asked what time they open he turned his back and pretended not to hear me while the dog barked. Sad. But you have put negative energy in the 7niverse that has to return back to you.

The watermelon out front was amazing!!!I got charged almost $20 for the dinner plate and a soda. If your kids want to join the Navy, this place is the perfect spot that replicates galley food. Cold a** chicken, burnt mashed potatoes, canned green beans (also cold).... and gravey that tastes like boiled shoe laces. I really want to know who gave this place 5 stars? Seriously.

This place needs to be shut down for the look of vegetables alone! We were excited when they first opened but have had horrible meals of nasty burgers and uncooked chicken !! I can't believe people eat there ! I've often thought about calling the health department on them.

Best ever ribs and fried chicken. My family likes the banana pudding. You can pick up some groceries and garden vegetables in the summer. Dan, the owner, is just as nice as he can be Suzanne

I've bought steamed ship here several times in the last year. Always well done. Eaten here for lunch 3 times or so. Good food in a country store atmosphere, not fancy at all. Personable folks, nice to eat in a place not full of TV ‘s or noise. If you are looking for “ slick†or plastic , this ain't your spot.

I'm shocked when I walk into this store located next to the Post Office. This place needs to be monitored by the health department. The vegetables are disgusting!! Good on shelves are outdated. Shameful !!!

Sort of a good old Homestyle feeling here

Frustrating that you can't use a credit card unless you buy $5 of things. Love the unique selection of sodas. Fresh produce elevated it from a normal general store.

There is nothing much in Doswell but Kings Dominion and during the off-season, the place is slower than molasses in International Falls. I am sure they do the best they can with limited space and probably limited cash flow. If there's something you gotta have NOW and can't get down to Ashland, it's worth a look-see.

Better than an average convenience store with its deli and fresh local produce. Slightly pricey, however, and no option to use a credit card/debit card unless you spend $5.00. Not a high price point, of course, but frustrating if all you want is a beverage or two.

We were there about a month ago and the lunch (hot cooked foods) are delicious. There is a selection of usually 3 meats with several side dishes and a roll. You can select your drink from the cooler. Everything was very good.

A local restaranteur, Dan Turner, who owns Turner's Restaurant in Ashland, Va. just down the road, has re-done this little old market, to carry a few grocery items, and there are a few seats for dining. I have not had any of the deli items yet, but my husband planned a dinner at his parents, and asked Dan to fix dinner. Great for me! Husband said to surprise us, and it was great: rottisserie chicken, meat loaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, greens, amazing spoon bread, and the most incredible rolls. I do love home cooking, especially someone else's! Everything was delicious, in heavy foil pans, to re-heat as needed, but we ate right away, so everything was still hot. My husband asked for enough to serve 10-12 but this would have gone a lot further, and we're big eaters. The price was extremely reasonable, too. I couldn't have cooked it for the price, I don't think. The rolls are to die for. I can't wait to try the deli items. Finally, a nice place in Doswell....yeah!
