I didn't feel there was any compassion when I took my dog here to have her put to sleep because her regular vet was closed. I walked in crying carrying my 50 pound dog and the first thing they asked is if I wanted to buy a paw print.............what (I'm losing a family member and you want me to purchase a paw print!). I was then asked for payment and told to have a seat in the waiting area, so I had to sit in the waiting area holding my dog, sobbing, where anyone that came in could see us. We also had to carry her out through the waiting room after she had passed, they did offer to carry her out but it was still through the waiting room where others could see her.

I am new to the Dayton Animal Clinic but it already feels like home. The entire staff is knowledgeable, compassionate, and all about the relationship between DAC and their human customers and assorted pet patients.I had to deal with an emotional issue and Dr. Rhonda Herr was very kind and thorough in explaining my options. She let me know there are "no judgments" at their facility. This made my decision easier (and more focused on the welfare of my furry friend).I strongly recommend you become part of this family of intelligent and caring professionals. Pricing is very reasonable and no unnecessary testing is done.

I have had several animals to this clinc for care in which was always satisfied with the care received. However the last few months with our cat has been a different story. Our cat had been self mutilating himself after issues following his neuter( the neuter was done somewhere else.) We took him here and was told to try this and that, okay few weeks goes by and he's still uncomfortable we take him back and they say well let's try this and Dr. Herr begins to explain that they would need to surgically remove the mass to give him relief. 2 days after this appointment he is scheduled for surgery. We paid for the pre antistatic blood work, the surgery etc. Which was approx 400 dollars but we didn't care we wanted our cat taken care of. The day of this "procedure" following it I'm told that he did great he was fine. My husband calls to get an actual update and is told on the phone we already gave one to your wife then she hangs up. We go to pick up our cat, and the procedure was never done. He was shaved and that was it.. when asked about this we was told by another vet that he was told to just wash him up and clean the area with soap..... so we paid 400 dollars for a surgery that didn't happen.. after paying 4 other vet visits for our cat we left that day and our cat had the same issue he did when we brought him there. Until this situation I would have recommended them and have praised this office in the past however this left us with a bad experience and a very expensive one at thatEDIT: SO as you can see as stated they sedated him to "explore the wound" sedation was unnecessary if that were the case. They had "explored" the wound 2 or 3 other times before this. Also our cat is doing much better after receiving a much needed surgery. You all never even tried antibiotics, let it go on to where he actually did give himself an infection. Absurd.

Doctor Barbara was the nicest and most professional vet I have dealt with. I have ten dogs and two cats and I rely on her for all my animal baby health needs. My wife and I always felt that my babies were safe and loved while she dealt with all the bad luck I’ve had.God Bless you Barbara, looking forward to the BARBeque this summer.

Our dog Molly (a Jack Russell) became really ill on Sunday evening and I was up w her all night. Monday morning it was clear we needed help. I called Dayton Animal Clinic, LLC (by accident but also by the grace of God all at the same moment) at 6 am and they called me back as soon as someone walked in the door at 7:30. Molly is a gentle, sweet girl who is very loving, but she does not take to new environments or new people with ease. Dayton Animal employees not only listened to me but heard me, let us use the back entrance, took us through where she would not see any other animals, and loved on Molly to help calm her. Dr Herr did not suggest any unnecessary treatments. She gave Molly a shot and 2 medications and told me what to look for in case we needed to return. They have called twice to check on her and quickly returned a message I left. Hands down best experience with staff and a vet I have EVER had. The cost of the visit and medicines were very reasonable. I would give 10 stars if I could! We have found our forever vet.

Went from my favorite vet to my least favorite. This is my primary vet and my dogs are up to date on everything. I brought my dog in because she had a siezure and found she had hookworms. Was given dewormer for both of my dogs (1 was with me and the other was not) and was convinced to buy Heartgard at the vet for both dogs.. Was suggested I could also purchase online at Chewy. I opted for Chewy and they DENIED my "prescription" saying I need to come in AGAIN as it was a "sickness exam" and not a "wellness exam" yet they were literally trying to sell me the Heartguard for both dogs directly at the desk at checkout. To my knowledge you do need a negative heartworm test but the LEAST they could have done was not charge me for a whole other exam/visit fee after paying $150 to establish the problem. Double charging for another exam for the same issue is just wrong. Not to mention the front desk took over a week to respond to Chewy to deny the prescription. It's tying my money up in the refund process and keeping my pups without medication. Dr. Carter is a an AMAZING veterinarian but my interaction with the front desk is having me find a new vet.If anyone else finds themselves in this position, you can go to Tractor Supply and they can test your animals for heartworms and they will authorize the prescription for Heartgard for about $40 a pet!
