I was in Danville for a couple of days and saw this shop. I am interested in any old genealogical publications and a few other specific items. I procured a few old publications from an old Tennessee genealogy society and had a few other items I wanted to purchase. The publications are available for free now on-line so I had a set price they would be worth to me. I offered this and the old grouchy man who now trolls the place became so infuriated he refused to sell me anything. I went to find the employee who helped me, to let her know I would probably not be back as I had told her earlier because of the old man's abuse, and he refused to sell me anything. He appeared behind her and verbally abused me some more for "running my mouth" - I told him I was merely explaining to her what happened and why I would not be back. Who does this? He had been rude about other things - I had asked about some old Bibles he had in a case - which he said were not for sale. I asked him if he knew the owner's name or surname of the Bible.. (genealogy) and he stated that it was not his responsibility to help people in this way (meaning finding their ancestors)... I just let that go.. but now I see I should have been going.. out of there as fast as possible.
With him at the register- this place won't be around much longer. Shop at your own risk!

Lovely and interesting antique mall but the owner is grouchy , belittling, insulting and tries to bully you into buying things .Follows you around like you are going to steal something and levels insults at you . I had enough of his insults that I didn’t even take the time to look all around . Bought a few things and left . Im being generous with a “2” rating .

My wife and I could not be more pleased with the dining room table and chairs we bought at Lou's and look forward to returning. The owner Robert could not have been more gracious and honest.

This was a great stop in Danville. Friendly owner and both owners. A shout out to Robert and one of the both operators Linda…packed full of treasures and great start for our first trip to Danville..

I find it very puzzling that the reviews are saying the owner Robert is rude and racist as me and my girlfriend are an interracial couple and we had a great experience with Robert and the staff. Since we are from North Carolina and decided to take a trip up to Danville, we stumbled upon Lou’s Antique Mall during a drive around after discovering Langhorne House was closed, all I have to say is I’m glad I visited!

Was treated rudely when I asked about the price of there vhs tapes, minor item yet major disrespect, I will never shop here again and I'll advise everyone else to stay away, they just wanna get over on people

The owner Robert is a racist and rude!! My fiancé and I visited this store about 1 month ago and spent close to $200. We love antique stores and enjoyed visiting last time so we went back today. My fiancé asked to use the bathroom and he said “we are not letting you people use the restroom”.
I went to ask a lady who worked there and she said sure and was showing me the way to the bathroom and as we got to the bathroom Robert was standing there and told the lady I couldn’t use the bathroom. **Important to note that we both used the restroom at our last visit when we asked another lady whom was helping us!!
Will never go back into this establishment. There is no place on Earth for Racism.
