I absolutely love this Safeway! Unfortunately I moved out of the area, but I still stop in on my way into work from time to time b/c it's my favorite grocery store. The store associates are ALWAYS so kind- especially Mary, love seeing her every time! Produce is always fresh, great meat options, shelves always stocked, good pricing, and every employee is always so helpful! I will always stop in any chance I get!

Safeway is usually an enjoyment. Not here - the staff must be on the weekly 'cigarette, vape-n-vanish vacation trip', 'cause they ALL AWOL! What good is the Monopoly shopping game, when you support Safeway, but the prizes you win are not available in any one of their stores? Do I need to camp out in the front lot, like Gamestop-addicts, hoping that the items will be beamed from Jupiter and the Kuiper belt? Safeway looks ransacked. Prices are steep on produce, bakery, meat. Rebel review: step it up

This Safeway pharmacy at Cheshire Station is dreadful. They actually cancelled a shipment and on it contained my husband's heart medicine. They did nothing to remedy the situation and in fact, said if we went to a different pharmacy they would release our order and we would have no problem. I went to 3 different pharmacies to try and fill my husband's medication. The third one was successful but when I went to pay for it, they told me it had to be released from the prior pharmacy. Safeway would not answer their phone. I had to physically drive over there, ask them to release it and then drive back to Lorton where I was filling it. When I asked her to release it, she smugly pushed a button and said 'there, it's done'. No apologies, no kind words were said. It was awful. We do not recommend this pharmacy at all.

Prices are comparable to other area grocery stores. Deli needs to step it up. Dude tried to put my lunch meat on a scale with crumbs all over it. He spoke limited English so I had to explain it to him 3-4 times. Meanwhile, the other 2 clerks in the back are just looking at him and NOT assisting! Get to the check out aisle and no greeting, acknowledgment of my presence, NOTHING! I see why this parking lot is ALWAYS empty! I'll stick with Food Lion and Giant.

Our cashier Ahmad was so professional and attentive! He bagged items efficiently while asking considerately, "Do you want the 16oz soda with you or in one of the bags?" and, "Would you like a separate bag for the bananas or would you prefer them on top in this bag?" The store was clean and attentive to COVID safety, and Ahmad just did an outstanding job.

The worst grocery store I've had to deal with. Called to ask if they had basmati rice. The lady that answered from customer service spoke perfect English. But she couldn't pronounce basmati and thought I was pranking her. She just kept saying yes we have rice. I said ok for the third time and said do u have basmati rice. She started sighing and said we have rice all sorts. OMG. Really! So I hung up. Employees at this location don't even know the knowledge of items. Crazy. Then they get upset at u for there lack of knowledge of items they sell.

Unfortunately I have watched and experience disgusting racial discrimination with the pharmacist Ken. I went in to get my rx filled about a month ago, which I've been a customer for SW Rx for years, however my dr is in Waldorf but I'm now staying with family in VA. Ken gave me issues filling my rx cause in his words "there's a thousand sw between his location and Waldorf"... when I asked if SW fills rx for people that may be traveling" he was dismissive in his response. Well 2 days ago I went to sw(closest one to me) and this time he denied filling my rx in the MIDDLE OF A GLOBAL PANDEMIC!!!! At this point I became so frustrated and called him out for not filling my rx cause I am black... He didn't deny it, just rudely threw his hands up and walked away... I alerted the manger whom was so confused with his actions, but nothing was done. I had to go to a SW that was 10 mins away, which was a huge inconvenience as I have extreme anxiety....so for someone like me, I almost have a nervous breakdown every time I have to come out right now...I was greeted by the pharm tech there with so much respect, she asked if I was in the system (which I am), verified my DOB then said "We'll have this ready in 30 mins". I shopped and was out the door in 30 mins....

Hands down the best grocery store I've ever been to. The employees enjoy being there and do everything in their power to help customers when they need it. It's as clean as it possibly can be for a popular grocery store, and you can see fresh produce being pushed out constantly. Good work guys!

On Monday Dec. 3, 2018 approximately 5:30 we drove to safeway at 4215 Chestshire Station Plaza in Woodbridge, Va to use the western union. Sign says open from 10-7pm. Husband was told that it was down. I asked another employee and was told it was closed at 5:30 because the manager that can open it was gone. Which is a totally different from what DONALD told my husband. I walked back to customer service and asked which one was it, because I drove all the way over here because it said it was open. DONALD was extremely rude and distasteful in his response. "Well its broke" is what he said and started pointing to the sign saying that's what it meant. I said no the sign says its closed but the hours posted are different. So I asked for the managers' name he said Nick, I asked him if he could write it down, he then said "NO YOU WRITE IT DOWN"!! DONALD doesn't belong behind customer service counter with an attitude like that. If safeway offers a service then the service should be available to the public. Not closed or "broken" before the time. It's a waste of my time and gas to drive somewhere just to be lied to. DONALD is one the worst customer service employees I have ever come in contact with, and coming here from a big city that says alot.

Terrible service. I was looking for apple cider vinegar by Braggs. I asked the rep if he could look in the back and see if they had more stock, He replied that they are not suppose to do that because it's the night crews job to pull the inventory from the back. He took me to the manager Donald who couldn't help me either. I asked if he could check inventory and his answer was a plain NO. Didn't even bother to check or anything, He just gave me a simple No as an answer. I was just at this store yesterday and waited over 40 mins in line to spend my hard earned money. $177 in groceries. That's the last time I spend my money at this store. Luckily for me I have a Giant, Weggman's, Harris teeter, Walmart and a food lion and Costco near my home.

Oh Safeway..... it's not always the safe way.... in all honesty the only reason I come here is because they are one of the few places that still sells Very Vanilla Silk Soy milk. For some reason, no other grocer in the area sells it. So that's the good part. The bad part is that they usually only have one or two cashiers at any given time. If you do have to come here, I would come earlier in the morning!!! The chances of the lines being long are slimmer. Now, do not get too excited because even early in the morning that line can still move very slow. The store is always clean and well stocked. They have a bakery, a seafood counter, which usually has shrimp on sale that they will steam for you while they shop. They also have premade meals, sides and salads for this grab and go days. I also noticed they have started to make their own salsa and guacamole, how fitting on National Guacamole Day, lol. If you do come here often, make sure you have a Safeway club card, it's free and helps you get the sale prices you see in store and if you download the app, they have clip-less coupons you can add to your card for the avid couponers.

Long line. Got to the front. Cashier charged three times the price for one item. Pointed it out. She didn't know how to void it, and neither did the manager. Ten min later, got it done. Entered the number correctly (was produce - nothing to scan), then scanned the next two items and bagged them. Unbagged one, and scanned it again. Pointed out that she scanned three times for two items. Manager made his way over after a while, and the ritual continued. Took my cash and left the store. Not returning. Many other supermarkets with competent staff in the area.

The store is clean and well stocked. They have a good selection of a variety of foods. The bakery has great cakes, cupcakes and does a great job decorating for custom items. They have well labeled areas for items that are close to the sell by dates but I've never found anything that was past that date. They work with me when I have a number of coupons without complaining. The biggest downfalls are they don't have someone at the Customer Service desk at all times and they have only 1-4 lines open and therefore you usually spend way too long in line. Employees have always been friendly and respectful.

Regardless of time of day or lack of impending weather, the line mirrors that of a soviet grocery store during a famine.
