This place has gone downhill over the last few years. So my review years ago went from a 4 to a 1 unfortunately. Always out of stuff (pet snacks that even the nearby supermarkets have in stock), and closing hours seem to be whatever they feel like it. Despite their official hours, they were closed for no apparent reason last Friday at 630. Just a sign saying they were closed, with no explaination listed. The latest incident wasn't the only time this happened. I'll drive further out to PetSmart, this place seems to be poorly managed over the last few years.

The “Manager” Andrew needs more accurate training on how to provide Customer Service. He has a very condescending tone and needs to have contact information available for customers who are seeking assistance, and not assume I should look on Google myself for information. Andrew likes to talk over people, which shows his inability to address any concerns. When asked for his Superior or whom he reports too, he wasn’t able to provide that information either. Times get tough and I under we may not all love our job, and you could tell that communication by his verbal cues i.e huffing and puffing. Please address whatever concerns Andrew may have as to why he doesn’t feel the need to provide exceptional Customer Service.

Love this Petco❣️ They always have Honest Kitchen & other items needed available for my senior furbaby! ?And the Little Lady?cashier is always so pleasant and personable.?02/11/2023 1:45pm-ishHad to make a return. Done with no issues or problems at all. The young cashier was very personable. Still my favorite Petco❣️

Not only did the fish we buy die immediately and I mean extremely quick (within the bag, no shock while temperature acclimation) , but when we came to just exchange for some new ones, the poor cashier couldn't get any assistance to us, and when she requested the manager to us since there were others in line, we waited for awhile and still no help. That poor cashier is the only reason that place is running. I didn't see any other employee or the manager for over a half hour. Really kinda sucked.

False advertisement. Petco website says you do not need an appointment for nail trimming however there was sign on the door that said no walk ins and when I asked the young lady at the front desk if it pertains to nail trimming she said yes. I could understand if they were overwhelmed with grooming multiple dogs but the store was empty.

I’ve always used the Petco in burke for my dog’s grooming services, but we moved to the area about a year ago and I decided to to try this Petco. So far only Florencia is able to leave Rascal looking fabulous. She’s very informative and sweet! I know Rascal can be a handful when it comes to his grooming but Florencia definitely knows what she’s doing & has the patience! Book with Florencia she’s the best!!!

I have been coming here for my food and grooming for years but this recent trip was an anomaly. The store manager, Andrew, was rude when I asked if something they had was in stock. His response was condescending and unclear. When I asked for clarification, he gave me a fake “F.U.” Smile and repeated the same unclear response. Everyone has a bad day, and maybe Andrew is just having a rough day, but that should never be taken out on the customers. I went to Pet Smart to get what I needed.

The store in Dale City is disgusting. I just moved from a place with an excellent Petco, and I’ve been disappointed every time I walk into this store. There’s the smell of urine before you even get to the door, inside there’s nothing but urine and fecal stains on the floor and boxes piled everywhere. Staff is nice, but in those conditions I don’t know how.

Discrimination against my pet with idiopathic epilepsy. We have been going to various PetCo groomers in the area over the past 5 years with no issue. Every time we report our dog has epilepsy and the only concern from the groomer is if he is medicated and stable. He has not had an episode in over a year now but the groomers and manager at 4167 Cheshire Station Plaza, Dale City, VA 22193 refused service claiming it was company policy(clarified it was not simply store policy).Note all information was provided during the online booking process and this conversation had to happen in store after bringing him all the way to the store for his appointment.

Friday, October 27 they closed the store over an entire HOUR early before 7:00. We REALLY need to hire a better team here. They’re always closing early due to whatever random reason. It’s becoming a habit. Change your hours online or hire a better team please. It’s hard to go to a place that randomly chooses their own hours whenever they feel like it.

In looking at some of these reviews, I can tell that I am not alone. Yesterday I went to Petco to buy crickets for my bearded dragon. I have had this bearded dragon for three years now and I’ve gotten crickets from all over including PETCO. During this time I have always asked the store associates not to put carton in the bag because it makes it unnecessarily difficult for me to retrieve the crickets from the cricket keeper when it’s time to feed my Beardie if they are also hiding under the carton but there is a manager at this store that flat out refuses to sell you the crickets without the carton. When he’s not outright arguing with you and being disrespectful, he’s lecturing you on “store policy” which I’m pretty sure does not exist. This man literally shoves crickets into a plastic bag by the dozens to be reptile food for a living and he’s lecturing me about what he considers “ethical”. I returned my crickets and dog treats because he placed carton in the bag after being told not to repeatedly and just got my crickets at PETsmart where they bagged the crickets like I asked them to. However I wanted to do my due diligence. I called corporate and asked them if Petco had a policy where customers were REQUIRED to take carton in their bag of crickets even after they have made it very clear that they do not want them and he said no policy like this exists. Unbelievable! I will be waiting for an official response from corporate about my complaint but until then I’ll be getting my crickets elsewhere.
