We love all the state parks! We stayed in the chestnut loop. The sites have shale style rocks, so bring a broom to swwp the bottom of your tent lff when packing it up. It has a newer bathhouse. But a heads up that the toilet paper rolls are hung sideways in the women's restroom, making it difficult to get the toilet paper out. ?

This is called a hidden gem for a reason! We are camped at the full-hookups (RV) and the area is basically brand new. New public restrooms / showers are very nice and clean. Hot water. And the grounds and lake are very nice. Great sandy "beach" area and the water is wonderful.
Playground: Very nice, slides, swings, etc.
Restrooms: Clean
Dog-friendliness: I see dogs.

Beautiful natural state park. Well maintained. Cabins are very clean and nice. Hiking trails are well maintained and some are along the water. All of the park rangers were very nice and helpful. Fantastic fishing.

Nice state park. We were only there for 1 night so not able to explore much. This seems like a very kid friendly park with lots of planned activities almost every day. It’s small and quiet. The bathrooms are older but clean

Went camping and fishing and had a great time. We camped out in a tent in Acorn Loop spot 18. The ground for the tent was soft but bumpy. Putting up our tent was easy. The picnic table was convenient. The area was beautiful with a lake view and it was very peaceful. The bath house was about 100 yards away. It was our first time camping in a tent with no electricity or water and we had fun.

We have been going to Bear Creek Lake for YEARS! Our children love to swim in the lake, and we now share this experience with our grandchildren. Nice beach and picnic areas. The cabins are a great place for a girls' weekend - secluded, spacious, yet convenient to home.

That place is horrible, they charge you 7 dollars and the water is dirty and lonely, that place looks like you arrived in a horror movie, the photo is very pretty when you arrive, the place is horrible and dirty, it's not worth going to that place.

Love the lake. Quiet and breezy. Great for fishing and kayaking.
Restrooms: Restroom was open even though concessions, kayak & canoe rentals and swimming doesn't open until Memorial Day.
