What an experience! Made an appointment because of special credit circumstances. Needed a car that ran and was inexpensive. Got a video from salesman Jamie Fox showing me some cars that fit those criteria. I rent a car and drive 1.5 hours to Culpeper. Jamie's not there to meet with me. Professional, right? Another salesman, Robert Martinez tries to help me. Explain my situation to him, show him the video of the cars I was interested in. Robert goes to 'check' on them, comes back to tell me that one of their wholesale clients was in that morning and bought most of those cars. One I was really interested in was not on the lot, but also not marked sold. Odd.Robert recommended that I complete a credit application, which he assured me would not be run until more inventory became available. He also suggested that I come back in a few days as they were in the middle of a big sales event and knew he'd have something for me to select from. I AGAIN explained that I DIDN'T have a car or a way to just stop by in a couple days.By the time I got home I got a notification from Credit Karma that Koons had processed the credit application and cost me a hard inquiry to my credit score. A flat out lie! A day or so later I get an email from Jamie thanking me for my visit and hoping that he was able to answer all my questions. I never even saw the man! When I responded to the email (clearly auto generated) I got NO RESPONSE. What a surprise. I then get a series of text messages from Robert and another salesman asking if I'm still interested/looking for a car. When I responded about my negative experience, NO RESPONSE!If you shop at Koons, proceed with caution. I don't feel like they're the least bit reputable or honest in any of their actions or dealings with customers.PS. one star, only because review would not post without it.

I got this flyer in the mail and as you can see, the scratch off etc matched. I called in because it seemed too good to be true. They said "you're a winner and will walk out with your cash prize!" I'm a single mom and was so excited to be able to pay some bills. I spent almost two hours of my day driving out there to get a $2 bill because apparently, no matter what the flyer says or what they say on the other end of the phone, you don't actually win what it says you win. It's extremely misleading even when you think you've done your due diligence. If they're this shady just to get you in the door, imagine how skeevy they will be to make an actual sale.

This dealership is a joke! Went there with my own money to purchase and they still were giving me the run around. They wanted me to finance through them, but I had my own payment. They did a rush wash job which looked terrible..they lied and told me I could sign and take the car and pay the remaining balance in 3 weeks, but then turn around and say no we need the money today in full or the car stays. These ppl are a scam, my first and last time doing business with them. I took the car to get it looked at by an Audi dealership service dept. and they said that the brake pads are low just enough to pass inspection, the rear struts are busted/leaking..and the motor mount is leaking smh. Never again!

Bought a car from them 2 months ago only put 4600 miles on it within those miles the maintenance wrench an the check engine light came on 5 to 6 times 3 out of those times they only cleared the code an sent me on my way then as I reach my home town the check engine light came back on when I went to trade it in on a vehicle they couldn't help me in anyway today so in my opinion I believe that they are within violation of virginia lemon law because I took back to the dealership 3 to 5 times for the engine light all they did is clear the code an put a new inspection sticker on it I will NEVER go to koons again for any sort of vehicle!

My dad received a card for a scratch-off lottery from Koons. Knowing it was most likely a bait tactic to get people to the dealership to be sweet-talked into buying a car, he scratched it off anyways, and it was a winning number for $1000. He called the dealership asking about the catch, and they said that there was none and that he did indeed win the prize money listed on the flyer, which was $1000. He asked how long he would need to be at the dealership, and they said it would be very quick. We decided to drive there and see what was up, and someone was waiting at the door for us. He noticed the paper we were carrying and commented on us being there for the car sale. We noted that we had winning numbers and that they confirmed them over the phone. He said that we will see about that, and that everyone wins something before having us take a seat. After asking for some information, he mentioned that they would need to check the board to see if our confirmation number won, and said that we would get to draw a little pack (which ended up containing two dollars). My father mentioned that it said $1000 on the scratch-off, and he immediately became confrontational, saying that was not really what it said and that it would be a scam, and they are not trying to scam us. He then accused us of trying to scam him out of $1000. He pointed to where it said on the card that the confirmation number does not determine the order of prize drawings, saying that they put it on the front there so that everyone can see that it is not really $1000. However, the two numbers (one on the little electronic thing and another on the scratch-off) matched the number for $1000, the paper said it was a $1000 prize, and even the person on the phone confirmed that we had received a $1000 prize. It also appears that if the statement written on the card was true, then we should have received a $1000 prize. This is absolutely a scam. It would have been one thing if they had at least apologized and tried to sweet-talk us into buying a car from them (which we were seriously considering), but as soon as we started asking questions, the man immediately accused us of trying to scam him and got so confrontational we were concerned that he might start throwing fists. Koons is truly a shame unto Culpeper but is still an excellent lesson to other businesses on how not to earn customers.

Fantastic everything! I was so pleased with David Stowe's attention to detail and high level of customer servic. He was efficient as well so I was not there all day. I was driving away in beautiful Jeep Cherokee in my less than two hours.. I am delighted with the amount of the payment as well. David really listens to his customers and works hard to put their needs first

They sell cars that will break down after only 3 months, see an extended warranty and it magically doesn't cover transmissions. Waste of time and money. Go elsewhere

They'll sell you anything just to make a profit. My car has major issues and I haven't even had it for 1 month. They're unorganized and the maintenance is slow. Please take your time when shopping for a car and stay away from this dealership!!

I went to the dealership and was approved for my car in April. I was in a open chapter 13 and awaiting approval from the court for my purchase. I was able to pick up the car the next following week. Due to the car just coming in the sensors needed to be repaired. I followed up with the dealership many times. What got me was several weeks later I received a text from the sales person Mr. Dotson telling me now I need a cosigner. I am wait a minute I was approved with no cosigner in April. I was told by the manager the bank denied my loan because there was a change in my bankruptcy. How can the bank cancel my loan when they approved me prior? I am completely pissed and I had to turn back in the car. I was threaten if I didn't return the car they would call the cops and report it stolen. How can they report a car stolen when I was approved and signed the contract? When I had the car the tire sensors kept going off. Then they looked at it a nail was in the tire. The repair shop patched the tire. The next day the tire went completely flat. I ended up purchasing a used tire. My overall experience was terrible and I wouldn't give this place five stars. Please beware when you pull up and my advise stay away. You can get a better deal elsewhere and I did in Richmond, VA.

Koons review Beware The "Play the king of cars" game/flyer is a total scam. I was told "if anyone can read the would know" My game card showed I got 3 silver cars and when looking at the prize picture to the right (I won $5000) I followed all their instructions and called the # I was told "congratulations you are a winner" I said thank you what did I win, the $5000 it appears to show on my game card?? "All we can tell you is you are A guaranteed cash prize winner, and take your ticket in to dealership to receive your cash prize" The next morning I drove 45 miles. A lady saw me pulling in and she waited/hovered behind my car. We went in where I found just as I thought. GAME FLYER IS A TOTAL SCAM. MY FLYER BASICALLY SHOWS THAT I WON $ $5000 CASH... IN REALITY I RECEIVED $10 after reaching my hand in and pulling out a little envelope with $10 in it And SHE SEEMED VERY SURPRISED THAT THERE WAS ANYTHING HIGHER THAN $1 in it. ALSO AFTER THE SCAM AND PRESSURE SALE ATTEMPT: They seem to be trying to sell these cars at 2 to 3 times higher than I think you can get them for. Hey salesman, my game flyer shows I won $5000 you bait and switch it into $10 not even enough to cover my gas. And then charging extremely high prices for those vehicles. CAN I BUY 2 LOL....... Oh yeah Please don't send me a fake response saying "We are so sorry you feel that way" Or "If you have/had a problem please contact our G.M." I WAS A FRIEND OF MR JOE KOONS WHO WAS A GREAT PERSON AND HE WOULD BE SICK IF HE EXPERIENCED AND OR SAW WHAT I DID TODAY. I will share this all over social media to help save anyone else from going through this scam. Thank you

Wow! I just bought a car with Josh Cooper, such a friendly young man. I wasn't sure what kind of car I wanted. But Josh pointed me in the right direction. I 100% recommend anyone looking to buy a car at Koon's to ask for Josh, he will get you squared away. Thank you again Josh!

Eddie helped us get a jeep last spring. I shot him over some details and expected it to take a little time to find it. Days. He found what we were looking for in days. Not weeks or months like I’d expected. Super happy and glad to have worked with him.

I spoke with David, the first time on 9/24/21 about a car I was interested in, first question I asked was about price, he didn't tell me one, but asked when I would be there to see it, finally he told me he believed it was under 10k but nothing exact. I spoke with D on and off over the phone and though text almost daily about the car, on the 28th I asked if the car was ready to be sold and how long it would take to do everything and to sign the papers and if I could take the car that day and have my bank overnight them a check for it his exact words where " ok no time at all. you will be in and out, what time tomorrow?" making it seem as though the car was completely ready to be sold and that nothing I asked was an issue at all. On 9/30 D offered to have a driver come and pick me up and bring me 1.5 hours away to their dealership to buy this car, I accepted, and the driver was wonderful and the only good experience I have had with this dealership.I got there, we sat down and he got some info from me to start what I thought was process of paperwork for the car I wanted, when he came back he tried talking me into more expensive cars, but finally took me to look at a scratched up, dirty, horrible sounding car that had failed inspection and had a broken seatbelt and 55k more miles than I was told on it. He tried to sell me a bmw because I have one so he I guess assumed I'd buy another, I refused to make such a big purchase without putting any thought into it so they didn't make a sale. As stated I told him I was paying with a check from my bank but they still ran my credit through at least 4 different places without telling me first bringing my score down. Then when D realized I would not be buying anything except what I came there for we talked about him calling when it was ready, he then left and said sorry we can't give you a ride back home, it was too late and left me stranded in a place I didn't know with nothing within walking distance open and no transportation! The general manager who may or may not but claims to be the owner also is a liar and has covered up and backs his employees who put someone in a position that could have been incredibly dangerous and cost me close to $300 and 7-8 hours of my life to make it back home, but he thinks that $100 is fine to cover my expenses and time, which says to me that he doesn't think other peoples time or money is worth much at all.

Bought car from dealership went fine like any normal purchase honestly. Fast forward a year and go to refinance the car - it has structural damage that was disclosed to us at time of purchase in writing as required by law. Just don't trust this place for your car purchase go somewhere else.
