I’ve been taking my dogs to Dr. Allison Kramer for 20 years—I followed her from the town branch to Crozet Old Dominion when she opened up that practice. 20 years is a lot of dogs, a lot of visits. And she still remembers every dog, every silly story about them—she loves animals and loves her job. She always takes the time to explain what’s going on, explain my options, the patience she has with this hypochondriac doggo mom is really extraordinary.
And you can tell it’s a great place to work. Everyone who works there is really valued, loves their job—which makes all the difference when choosing care for your beloved pet. There are other good vets in town (ahem, Allison is GREAT) but friendly caring staff, even at the end of the day, even when you call sobbing hysterically, is being treated like family. But here's the best recommendation I can give: my dogs burst through the door, BURST into the lobby--they love going to the vet. That's the highest praise out there:)

I keep being grateful for this place and the amazing animal lovers who work here. Isa and Shelley at the front desk are always warm and helpful. Today, they, along with Heather the vet tech and Dr. Kramer went out of their way to care for my accident-prone dog in the midst of a full day. Thank you, Old Dominion!

We have been patients of Old Dominion Crozet since 2020. Dr Garrett Wood and Dr Kramer and their team are professional and caring. They explain options and follow up to see how our pets are doing. The office staff is very professional both on the phone and in person. We highly recommend this practice!

Old Dominion Crozet has exceptional veterinarians and staff that have constantly cared for my dogs nearly as much as I do. Through completely healthy check-ups, complicated hereditary diseases, and even cancer, the entire office never left me alone to go through the wins and losses. That is profound to me, my husband, and our four dogs that have been patients over the last 7 years. Everyone takes a specific, personalized interest in what we have needed, and I trust them completely.
The staff deferred to my decisions while equipping me with every possible avenue. Every visit, they took my lead, heard me out, evaluated my dogs completely, and never jumped to conclusions. There were no treatments that I was not fully educated about and followed up with every time.
We have been through so much with our dogs, and the knowledge and collaboration with each other and my family has meant so much to us and made all of the difference in their treatment. I now understand what I will expect from all vet offices in the future, now that we have moved, because of the care, service, and wisdom they provided. We were valued, and my dogs were loved. I cannot recommend this vet enough.

Old Dominion is a top notch veterinary clinic. My dog got extremely sick while we were on vacation necessitating a visit to an emergency Veterinary Clinic. Upon hearing from the Emergency Clinic, Old Dominion telephoned us to check on our dog, Gabby. The next day (in spite of meds) Gabby needed to return home and be seen at old Dominion. Our veterinarian,
Dr. Jagger worked us into her very full schedule. She was wonderful- kind and compassionate as well as highly competent. We all love her!!

I wouldn't trust these people to take care of vulnerable animals even if my life depended on it. Today, my husband and I called around to local veterinarian offices to inquiry about getting our cat spayed. My husband called to ask about a ballpark price for an initial vet visit, vaccinations, and to get her spayed. He was not given a straight answer, but instead told they would have to see the cat first. OK, that is fine, but I know this is a lie. I called this morning as well and finally, after a little back and forth, I was given an estimate of $300-$800. Now, I understand that a vets office cannot give exact amounts for procedures, but it seems fishy that this office cannot even give an estimate for a procedure that is conducted regularly. What is even more fishier is that a few months ago, I was inside the Old Dominion Animal Hospital in Crozet and I asked for an estimate for vaccinations, exam, and spay for the same aforementioned cat, and what do you know they were able to price everything out for me without ever seeing the cat.
*EDIT: I think it important to mention that another LOCAL vet was able to tell us the EXACT pricing and walked us through the procedure start to finish with exact medications that they use and the prices for each DOSE. They also went ahead and gave us the pricing for the initial visit and vaccinations.

So thankful we found ODAH Crozet! Dr Jagger is amazing. She and the vet techs are so kind, gentle, and compassionate. They listen and answer questions. Front desk staff is friendly and helpful in person and on phone. Best quality care we've ever received for our pet rabbits.

Dr. Vallely and all of the staff at Old Dominion are amazing! They are always so kind and compassionate with our two cats (one of whom is an absolute beast when she has to go to the vet). One of our cats recently had to undergo a series of MRIs/surgeries at a specialty vet, and Dr. Vallely kept abreast of the issue the whole way through. She regularly called to check up with us after procedures, made sure to order and read copies of all the surgery notes, and really went the extra mile to make sure our little girl was well taken care of. I could not recommend this practice and Dr. Vallely enough!

My husband and I have been thrilled with the care that Dr. Kramer and Dr. Garrett have provide to our two senior ragdoll cats. The team at Old Dominion Animal Hospital, Crozet is the absolute BEST in the Charlotteville/Crozet! They are very good listeners and take the time to explain great care for your fur babies. Cats are typically not easy patients, however the team at Old Dominion do their very best to calm their anxiety of going to what we affectionately call, the spa, :) however they know it is the vet's office. They give an over abundance of love to our fur babies and even a cat massage as they are checking them out. We highly recommend taking your fur baby dog or cat, or other pets that you may have and experience great care by a great team!
