This is the kind of old-fashioned hardware store that used to be everywhere, but then sadly got pushed out by the big box stores.
I live near a Lowe's and absolutely dread going there. Terrible customer service.
Crozet Hardware has lots of selection and great customer service!! I'm so glad I found this place - it's definitely worth the longer drive from my home to Crozet.

I can get all the basic stuff I need without driving to Charlottesville or Waynesboro. I especially like their bulk seeds, I've had good luck with them.

This place is classic and has been in the same spot in Crozet for decades. If they don’t have it, you probably don’t need it. It smells right and looks right. The folks who work there are knowledgeable and happy to help you find the piece of PVC, the bolt, the right electrical connection, the seeds or big spay that’s right for you. Even if you aren’t in the middle of a project, it’s worth dropping by just for the experience. And grab a case knife or a Gerber machete on the way out.

Was a little disappointed in the service. I remember coming in here for last 20 years and great customer service. Not people eye rolling their eyes because they don't understand what your looking for. Trying to give you what they want, not what you are asking for then roll their eyes and give you attitude like your an inconvenience. If I am wrong with what I want it's on me and I will be inconvenienced bringing it back, not you! So keep your bad manners and attitude in check..

I have been a customer for decades. I am done. I was sold an incorrect part. The dark haired employee had not cross checked the part reference guide. This error did not have to have a bad outcome. Instead of apologizing he double downed and he and his co worker said they always cross check. I was there. He did not. I indicated I felt mislead/ripped off. No sincere response. I returned days later and handed the employee the part. I had no use for it. No offer for any refund. I told him he had lost a customer. His sarcastic response indicated to me he didn't care. Unfortunate. Buying local is not worth it when customer service and prices are not great.

If you're a fan of old time hardware stores, this is a must stop! It reminds me of the ones I grew up with 70 years ago when you could go in and find anything at a reasonable price and knowledgeable staff! It's a great place to go buy stuff, but what's an even better place to go just hang out!

Old fashioned hardware store. A gem in the middle of crozet. Very helpful and friendly people work there and are always very knowledgeable with any questions or advice on finding help for any project. I would highly recommend this store and though it may cost a little more it is well worth it. Service and store like this are very hard to find these days.
