Picked out a metal carport at the end of March '23. Provided photos of where we wanted it installed and were assured the ground was level enough for installation as there was no area outside the supposed 4 inch tolerance for adjustment purposes. Again, we did this before paying the deposit. Past picking things out and paying the deposit, you're not dealing w/ Storage Solutions, you're dealing with Carolina Carports. This, is where everything goes south.Crew arrived April 3. Again, we're told no issue, but that there may be a slight gap between the asphalt and the frame in a few places. We'll use small blocks of wood under those areas just for added stability crew says, and we agree, no problem.4 hours in, crew claims a piece of siding was cut wrong from the factory and they'd have to come back to finish the install. That took another month for anyone to schedule us.First week of May, a different crew comes out and looks and says the first crew installed the carport improperly, cutting the legs unevenly, and doing the same w/ multiple metal siding pieces. No one ever told us they were cutting anything. We're shocked to hear how janky the build was done. Carolina Carports states the original crew needs to come out to fix issues. Yup, another month. Now, Carolina Carports (beware and take heed of their 2.1 star review), the place this company gets these carports/buildings from and arranges installation with, insists this had to be installed all jerry-rigged because the ground wasn't 100% level. Mind, we signed nothing agreeing to the "adjustments" made, as their contractor chose to do that himself. So, a warning to folks out there, if the ground has a even 1 inch of un-even ground, ours at the highest "uneven" part, was not even 2 and half inches,Carolina Carports will tell you your warranty is null and void the minute you ask things be fixed/addressed and their contract is so vague, that regardless of what you've been told during purchase and install, you'll be stuck.Oh, that carport that was started on April 3rd was just pseudo done on June 9th. After numerous arguments, 3 days off work and lots of stress, the contractor for Carolina Carports who handled this whole fiasco, admitted he'd told us things that weren't true (citing that Carolina Carports deducts mistakes from his pay) and now we're basically being left to deal with this mess. We've just paid for it and asked they not return after being threatened by Carolina Carports that if we don't pay in full, even before everything is done and installed properly, they'll hound us into collections. That 2.1 star review they have? It's there because we're not alone in their treatment of us.While Storage Solutions staff is wonderful, if you're getting something made and installed by Carolina Carports, you're at their mercy and their customer service is horrific. Don't go down the rabbit hole we did. Ask who handles what and if the dealer doesn't handle everything- calls, appointments, issues with contractors, warranties, use caution. Don't use a company that works with a company, that then uses "independent" contractors for install, because ultimately, fingers are pointed in all directions when things go wrong and you're left with a subpar, unwarranted product, with a ridiculously long install time and no recourse.
