If I were to use just one word to sum up I would say Disappointing. However an explanation is necessary. We drove 25 miles specifically to eat at the Floyd Soup Shop. Our selection was two wraps, one chicken salad and one ham and cheese. In addition we each had a serving of the day's soup, broccoli bacon cheddar soup. First, the soup. It was a total miss. It was watery, microscopic bacon and very little cheddar. The broccoli had really small bits of florets and an abundance of broccoli stems that were shredded and stalky and flavorless. I really like broccoli cheddar soup but this one missed the mark, a 1 out of 5. The wraps were better. My wife had the chicken salad wrap and said it was good, a 4 out of 5. My wrap was the ham and cheese. It was OK, a 3 out of 5. Both wraps were generous portions in a large wrap cut in half. A suggestion would be to use half the size wrap with the same amount of meat for a better bite. Overall, our visit was disappointing and I was unsure of whether to give it a 2 or a 3. To be generous I am rating it a 3. It is unlikely we will visit again.

So happy to find this spot while staying in the area to receive myofascial release therapy. Healthy, fresh and nutritious is hard to find in rural areas and offering more than just soup, this shop is a gem. We tried 6 different soups and all were hearty, flavorful and certainly had kick.

Every visit to the soup shop is a grand symphony of flavors, a testament to their ability to turn seemingly simple dishes into extraordinary experiences.Let's start with their creamy asparagus soup. I’m trying to eat unprocessed food as my 62 year old body is protesting the decades of abuse and soup is the only way I like most vegetables so I was really hoping I’d like the Floyd Soup Shop. Well, I love it! Their soup and shop is perfection. I tried the wheat berry salad and black bean soup while sitting on their porch enjoying their love signs and beautiful garden. Thank you Susan for creating such a lovely place and for helping me get healthy ✌️❤️?Vegetarian options: Vegan, healthy

My partner and I (and our dog) stopped here more or less by accident, and I'm so glad we did. As we pulled into the drive, I wasn't even sure it was actually a place to eat. It just looks like a house with a lot of parking in the driveway. Then I saw the outdoor patio seating and a man came out to greet us. It turns out that they have a number of wraps and salads in their refrigerator that they will plate for you along with some salad greens. There is also a hot soup option, which we did not partake in (pork taco soup, the day we were there). They got us water for our dog, and the service was just wonderful - the owners are two incredibly friendly people that I would pop in to say hi to in the future even if I didn't buy anything. They also have a number of local crafts and foods from farmers and craft shops in the area. Soaps, hot sauces, locally roasted coffee, and more. I told the owner, Susan, that I could drop a lot of money on impulse shopping despite how small the store actually was. Oh - and they've got some incredible looking baked deserts. I didn't try any because of my dietary choices, but damn they looked amazing.Kid-friendliness: Definitely kid (and dog) friendly.

Such a great place to get a delicious meal and shop for local products. The soups are amazing! They also make hummus and salad dressings and sell high quality meats from local farms, not to mention lots of other great products to stock your pantry. Easy drive from Salem/Roanoke or Christiansburg/Blacksburg areas.
