“I've never reviewed a gas station before but I had to this time. I was passing through the area and needed to fill gas, but my car was frozen over because of an ice storm. The proprietor very kindly came out and helped me get it open!”
“The Dollar General in Woolwine, Virginia is the best in the tri-area and surrounding areas and counties. They really go the extra mile to make sure there customers are satisified and happy! The staff keeps the store clean and organized and they answer any questions you may have while your there. I went to check out and the cashier even said " Hold on mam, i ve got some coupons to save you some money on these items, one second..". She saved me close to ten dollars! “Ok, so this place drips with nostalgia for me. I grew up in a rural mountain town where a roadside gas + market + hardware + feed + grocery + ice cream store served as the local equivalent of a town square. The old store is long gone now but Smith Grocery feels so similar even though it's 40 years and 200 miles away.
My favorite part by far: needed a copper fitting, was resigned to an hour (or more) drive to find one, and needed to stop for gas. Decided to walk through the door to the hardware wing, and lo there it was: copper plumbing. Terry walked through the door a couple minutes later, asked me if I needed help, and proceeded to test the fitting I'd grabbed on a 3/4 pipe and make sure I knew the tape-and-goop trick to bind the threads.
Fast forward about an hour and there's no leak on that copper pipe anymore. I predict many Smith Grocery visits in my future.”
