I always love going in here! Just entering, I immediately feel myself relaxing. Always a great place to buy gifts. They also had a promotion last year, where they let you fill a container with any soap/refill liquid of your choice. I STILL have the almond castille soap! The honey jars are great even when the tasty honey is long gone. I wish I had more money...I'd spend it here haha

I love this place, probably the nicest store in Clifton.Has an exceptional inventory of sustainable living items thats just big enough to meet my needs at a given time. I've visited here on at least 4 different occasions and had pleasant interactions with the owners.Through my visits i got an insulated waterbottle, double sided safety razor, bamboo toothbrush, virginia grown peanuts, and barebone scissors.I have been happy with all of said items so far.I still pick up items from the store for day to day needs, like soap, dishcloths, and a nice handmade comb.

This is my favorite store and it is actually more than just a store. I love the refills and sustainable products. Every item is carefully researched and chosen with such care and might even have a story behind it. The staff is wonderful and I learn so much from them. I buy soaps, cleaning supplies, household items, personal care products, coffee, gifts ……basically it’s the only store I need.

The Virginia Merchantile is a lovely, local store. Their products are interesting and environmentally friendly. The owner and the folks who work there are helpful and knowledgeable, not to mention their bags are beautifully tied and decorated. As a customer, I feel highly valued and I sincerely appreciate this great shopping experience.

This place is adorable and has absolutely gorgeous unique specialty items that would make a great gift or a treat to yourself. They have local jams and honey, organic soaps and candles and much much more for self-care and for your home. If you have little children or a stroller I imagine you might struggle a little bit because everything in here is very delicate and close together. I'm betting that a small child would be accidentally grabbing and knocking things over. Just a warning so you aren't caught off guard! :)

We visited a nearby store and noticed this store opened nearby in tiny Clifton, VA. We entered a lovely modern shop with a friendly, knowledgeable proprietor. The shop specializes in locally made Virginia products and organic and sustainable wares. I first picked up 2 jars of lically sourced jams for $5 each, peach and plum. I then noticed some dark chocolate with a chili kick. I got hooked on that sweet and spicy combo in Texas. The chocolate I chose was very very dark chocolate and not much sweetness. On the counter were some Dallas Caramels for $1 each. I bought 2, one with the chipotle kick and one marshmallow. Both melted quickly in my mouth almost before I could truly enjoy them. They were delicious bites of sweetness. I also chose skme cookie bites that I thought might be like energy bites. Instead they were a rather dry cookie but enjoyable as well.We did not purchase any of a large varoety of home decor items, like Swedish cloths and organic soaps. For unusual gifts, foods and decor, sustainable products and locally made items, this is a beautiful little shop and worth a visit!

I love this beautiful store, recently opened in April. It's filled with a great selection of aesthetically pleasing functional items with an emphasis on reducing waste and spotlighting locally sourced goods. You can even bring in your own containers to be tared and filled with liquid hand soap. I plan to make this a regular destination for gifts and household needs. We were greeted warmly and enjoyed learning about some of the goods' sources from the clerk of the morning, Robin. Ample parking in a lot on the side of the shopping center, near the store's entrance at the back.
