Such a fun family place! While there's a slight walk involved, good to burn a few calories! A local favorite. I'm glad Peterson's Ice Cream is in the town of Clifton. This is a place all I know have enjoyed. Due to its location it's slightly expensive, but you're getting quality too. They have regular ice cream, with multiple flavors. Yet my Achilles heel is their tasty soft serve. A fantastic treat. Dig the train out front, as trains are quite active on the nearby tracks. This has been around for some time. Yes it can get busy, but the employees are friendly and efficient. I think they deserve an extra kudos, and their organization system is an impressive one. If you're in the area please visit this ice cream shop. They are special to my whole family, and we will be back again!

A very cute ice-cream shop, we love the blueberry flavors, tried so many times, highly recommended when in clifton town. They close during the winter so make sure to check their operation time :)

Peterson's is a staple in downtown Clifton. It is a great treat when the weather is warm. They currently have limited hours through the fall season. Parking is very limited, usually along the street, or across at the Villagio parking lot. You order from a window at the back, and pickup at the window at the front. Seating is very limited as well, with a few tables and chairs at the back, and bench seating at the front. Prices are high for ice cream, but you do get plenty of ice cream. Kid's portion is enough for me, and a regular would be plenty for sharing.

Superb ice cream! We visited on Clifton Day and had a minimal wait. I sampled a banana Carmel flavor, but ultimately chose a sea salt caramel with chocolate/Graham cracker pieces. My stepdaughter had cookies n cream and loved it. One scoop is $6, 2 scoops $9. Service was fast and friendly. There are places to sit on both sides of the building.

Quaint venue in the charming location of Clifton. I had the pineapple sorbet which is probably the best I've ever had and the perfect relief on a very hot evening. We were disappointed that the hotdogs they used to serve are no more

Perhaps I went in with too high an expectation. I had heard all the fan fair, I had seen all the reviews. And so I set myself up for failure. I didn't know if they had dairy free anything, so I truly didn't know if I would even have anything I COULD eat. So imagine the joy when after asking the very young in appearance individual working the ordering counter (on the far side of the pick up counter for those of you who haven't been - and far I say, for those of you who use mobility assistance like me, watch the ground on the way in, it will catch you worse than cobblestones) if they had anything dairy free. Now her first response was no, and then she immediately said she should check. Then I was relying on what the floppy haired boy in the back had to say and the conference of 16-19 year olds decided that her response should be that the sorbets were decidedly not vegan and therefor non dairy. Not being a stickler for correcting vocabulary this day, I took a chance on the Lemon sorbet. My better half ordered the strawberry ice cream (important distinction there.). What arrived at the order window was the lemon sorbet and (what we later found out to be) a strawberry sorbet. Regardless, we had taken the sorbets to the back patio, the first table we looked at appeared like we might need tetanus boosters if we had used it, and found a suitable table in the corner. Otherwise your options are patio tables in the mid-area near the ordering station and these further tables past the fence. No napkins on the tables, those are only available on the pick up counter. I took one bite of my lemon sorbet and it was so packed with citric acid that I felt like my mouth had been burned. I tried again, thinking that I just got a weird first bite and it was the same. You know that pucker face that people make when they have had sour candy? That was the face I was making. I couldn't eat the sorbet, so hubby mixed it with his sorbet (being the martyr who won't tell people when they haven't given him what he wanted) and got something he deemed palatable. He said that the strawberry was really good (see previous sentence on martyrdom, so actual feelings unclear.). My guess is that the ice creams, malts and shakes are where it is at. Not the sorbets.

It's homemade ice cream. Lots of variety in both the prices and the flavors.A little wait to get your order, but it's not that bad. Order on the backside of the building, and get your order on the front side. Signage is lacking.

The ice cream is amazing here! Definitely a must if you are in the area. If we didn’t see the amount of people walking off with ice cream, we wouldn’t have encountered such an amazing spot. I got the coffee flavor. The name is something different on the menu but it has buts of coffee bean in it and it seriously balances out the ice cream! ?

Who hasn't walked through Clifton and stopped by Petersons for ice cream. It's the perfect day, ice cream and a walk to end a perfect day
