Been coming here since I was a kid in the 80s. Like walking back in time but the food is 100 times better than I remember. Still owned and operated by the McNamera family, this family owned store has all the charm of historic Clifton. Burgers are excellent… I tried the Katie and reminded my of Nashville. Will be back!!

A classic little store filled with everyone's favorite quick treats! We grabbed a bite at the main street bar and had to stop at the store on the way out. So many fun classic candies to a great selection of classic drinks to go with it. My husband grew up here and had to have his yoohoo and beef jerky from the historic beef jerky jar! Was great to see the history in the town thriving and keeping the charm.

Enjoyed a delicious lunch on the patio. Their Rueben sandwich is excellent, as are the fries and that incredible dip! But that day, the flies outside were biting!?!?! Great service. Great food! Do something about the flies.

Wonderful food! Clifton is an inviting place to spend an afternoon. The General Store is a fun bar/restaurant with a casual atmosphere and wonderful service. If you haven't experienced Clifton check it out. It's a small town with a big heart only 15 minutes from the Fairfax County Parkway and Braddock Road exit.

We stopped for sandwiches and I saw one of the staff sneeze into her hand which is ok (it happens) and she did the right thing by washing her hands immediately. This where things go weird. I asked if she was making the sandwiches due to health concerns over corona virus. I was told no and we ordered two sandwiches. The young lady at the cash register began texting and looking back into the kitchen area and laughing and then glancing back at me. This texting, glancing at me and laughing went on and on. It seemed that they were mocking me over what I consider a very legitimate health concern in this day and age. While I am trying to support local restaurants during this time, I did not eat my sandwich but my fiancé did. She is now ill. Not sure if there is a relation here but obviously all the nonsense that went on causes me concern just. I can't see myself ever going back to this establishment. Very unprofessional

I grew up in this town and have been going to the Clifton General store since I was 10 years old. I used to ride my dirt bike and get beef jerky put on my tab with the owner! Now it has a nice bar inside with amazing food, if you are visiting Clifton Town you have to stop into the pub for a beer and some food. This place is amazing.. thanks for everything!

Main Street Pub. Fun outdoor dining. Staff is pleasant and accommodating. The Reuben was excellent, as was the buffalo chicken wrap. Nice location, but as usual with downtown Clifton, parking is a problem, but the food is worth it.

First breakfast is awesome! but when a ham egg and cheese on rye jumps from just under $5 to just under $10, there's a problem. Last week I stopped and and got a grilled ham and swiss on rye. When I got home (1.5 mi) it was stone cold - that's not grilled. I went in today and ordered a grilled ham and swiss on rye and asked that it be grilled. nothing more, no sides. Just under $10. When I got to the car, it was cold, and I brought it back and said "the bread was toasted, but I specifically asked that it be grilled". I was told grilling was a special order and would cost me $5 more. So a grilled ham and swiss is $15.00?? Sorry, bit of a rip. I'll stick to breakfast but will not go back. I can spend that across the street and have a beer!
