Update again: two full hours in, two whole cars in the parking lot (as in it is not busy whatsoever) and my dog is literally crying and my heart is breaking. I hate this place but have nowhere else to go. I'm disgusted. DO NOT COME HERE

Went in for an emergency, checked in and waited for over an hour. Spoke to more customers in the waiting room than to employees. Ended up leaving without being seen.

Often times they take your pet back and leave you waiting in the lobby. The vet does the $77 medical exam and says nothing to you nor do they let you know the health of the animal. This place is VERY hit or miss. **Major issues were looked over my cat DIED upon the second medical exam. My boyfriend took our cat in for a check up and within 3 weeks we had to call and book another medical exam just to be told she actually had a severe heart murmur that they did not hear, no other further examinations were conducted during the first exam. Such as to look into why her weight drastically decreased within a couple of months (we explained every symptom to them) along with symptoms including choking and continuous vomiting. They said during the first appointment our cat was good to go and it was just hair balls. The second appointment they put her down for another $700. My dog was taken in prior to this issue with my cat for a splint. They wrapped his front leg so tightly that the bandage lacerated the top portion of his leg through the meat. When I called about this they were closed so we rushed to the ER because it smelled horrible. Town and Country asked me to book yet another $77 medical exam and expected me to pay for what they caused. They have missed tapeworms in 2 of our animals. Called to book an appointment with another vet to get them treated and come to find out.. they don't test fecal for tapeworms.. I called Town and Country clinic specifically for tapeworms (I 100% said tapeworms) seeing as how I saw them in our animals fecal. Well, tapeworms tend to not show up in fecal and are diagnosed if visibly seen. So the constant testing of fecal for at least $50 was pointless. Just be aware of patterns with this establishment. I've noticed some malpractice as well as incompetence and mindlessness in the staff. Unorganized. Mind you I was a medic. This clinic is wack. They lie to get around all of this too it's insanity.

awful pricing. charged me me over $730 to do blood work, run a Lyme disease test, a few other things.... all to tell me no sure answer of what was wrong with my dog. told me that she had been in contact with a dog who has Lyme disease, but then told me she did, and sent us home with no medication or anything... but I took her to a vet closer to me and they did the exact same stuff, and told me she does has Lyme disease, gave her medication, were excellent with their pricing, service, and they are some of the nicest people. I paid $155 at this vet to do the same thing and thats with the medications, they helped me tremendously and my dog. i will never be back to town and country vets, they are out for money and it's robbery. they were nice people, but they take forever and they are way overpriced. it's a last resort for me.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. My son just moved away to college and has always grown up around pets. He was missing that so a friend had a litter of kittens and he took one in. Unfortunately the little fella kept getting sick. Something happening with his immune system but unsure what. He got really sick, really quick over a weekend and on Sunday my son took him to this clinic hoping for help. He barely made it through the door before he was hit with needing a $1000 deposit up front. He asked if he could please just talk to the vet to see if kitty could even be saved. The vet was very short, didn't want to answer questions, no compassion for a pet owner who is upset and unsure. So when he decided to just take his baby home he was then scolded for not "just putting him to sleep" a decision he couldn't make in 30 seconds like they wanted. Also hit him with $105 for 5 min of their time they spent making him feel worse than before he got there. I've worked in healthcare over 20 years and owned pets longer than that. This one was a first for me! Never experienced such cold and callous service and believe me it won't ever happen again

In 2021, my cat stopped eating, was lethargic, and vomiting up bile. I took him to T&C, they did x-rays, found nothing. I ended up having to take him within the next day because his condition worsened even more, and it turns out he had a blockage in his intestines. As they told me that he would need "exploratory surgery" to find the blockage, that my less than 1 year old cat might have dead tissue in his intestines depending on the possible damage and implying he might be dying, they asked me for $4,000 over the phone. I had no choice but to say yes, because I wanted to save my cat. I couldn't stop crying that my cat might die as I waited almost two hours for news. Thankfully, the surgery was a success and he did not have any lasting damage from the blockage. However... I'm STILL struggling to pay off that particular credit card two years later because of high interest and because I'm a college student, and I would not recommend this clinic in the slightest.

Worst vet experience ever. We were referred by our regular vet to get emergency surgery for our kitten. They did $2,000 worth of tests etc. (some of the tests had nothing to do with why we were there and they said we had to get them for the vet to even see us). They didn't mention the surgery or there being any additional costs. The next day they said the kitten was fading and needed the surgery we were referred by our vet to get (why we were there) and it'd be an additional $2,000. I told them I thought that was ludicrous and I wanted to pick up my kitten and all my paperwork to take it to another vet. They basically said there was no time to switch vets if we wanted the kitten to live. Then they wouldn't talk to me, because I was upset with the vet charging $4,000 when my reg vet said the cost would be around $1,000. Their staff are incredibly rude as well. Do not recommend.

This is the first time I have really felt the need to write a review because of how dissatisfied I was with a place of service. I have taken my cat to this vet twice now for the same thing. When I brought him in the first time to treat his over grooming, he was diagnosed with anxiety and given medication to treat it. The medication he was prescribed caused his condition to worsen. I brought him back a week later and was told that he doesn't have anxiety but instead could have a couple things. The vet said that we should treat him for multiple conditions without know exactly what is wrong with him and see if that works. The vet also wanted to run test that had been done recently and they wanted to test him for diseases that he was tested for when he was a kitten. The bill was around $1,700 and when I asked them to explain some of the things on there they couldn't. I told them that I want medicine to treat him for allergies since that's what I thought was wrong with him from the beginning. I asked them for the pills and the topical cream that they had listed on the estimate. When I went to check out they said that they don't know what pills or topical cream I am talking about and I ended up leaving with a liquid oral medicine and shampoo. Not to mention I was there for a total of 3 hours and was only able to speak to the vet for maybe a total of 15 minutes. They also had my cat in a cage in the back for 2 and a half hours and when I asked them to bring me my cat they said they would but never did until I was ready to check out. THE MAIN POINT: Don't bring your animals here unless you want subpar treatment and a wrong diagnosis. And if you do go here, clear your schedule for the day because you are going the be there for a while.

We took our dog to Town and Country for an emergency visit. Our experience was excellent. We did have to wait a little but they are an emergency facility and it is understandable that there is some wait time. That said, the vet was very caring and addressed our dog's health issue with great expertise. Dr Nick Canevari repaired a previous surgery from another vet. He has monitored our dog's recovery, which we are grateful. We would recommend this facility to anyone. The staff is kind as well as other vets we made contact with through this ordeal. We live in Salem and have a great local vet. If we needed any service our vet wasn't able to provide we will, without hesitation, come to T & C.

When you get billed before the pet is seen and ready to walk out the door, and there is a sign in the waiting room that says to talk politely to staff, it's not a good vet. Apparently they get people upset easily to need a sign. The price was incredibly high compared to our regular vet, at least double. I see why they have such a beautiful new building. I will use the Vet School next time if we need an emergency visit, and stick with our regular vet. So they're nice, and have a beautiful building, so what. I'm not impressed. I'll take a shack if I know the doctors and staff are legitimate and looking to take care of the animals, not make a buck. I know other history of issues they've created for people, but you go ahead. They lost a dog in their care and blamed the owner for it having bad training. It ran away while being walked outside by the vet care givers, and it was a very GOOD dog. Really, go ahead and take your chances.

I made reservations for dog boarding / day boarding to attend a family event. I traveled from out of state made reservations and sent shot records ahead of time. when I arrived I was instructed that my dog must get a influenza shot for $50 which I have never heard of and surrounding boarding centers do not require this and a fecal exam. Her shots and fecal exam are up to date but they require a fecal every 6 months not yearly! they wanted another fee for that. VETS were busy with emergencies and could not do fecal or shot at that time and I would have to wait -if they could even get to it! I wasted a 7 hour trip and 2 nights motel because of them! another boarding center would take her but could not pick her up till 5pm sunday and I have to leave town at 8am. NOT TRUSTWORTHY! POOR COMMUNICATION! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND !

Town and Country vet Clinic in Christianburg, VA is by far the best vet clinic We have ever had the privilege to utilize. On Monday, August 8. 2022 we got up to find that our dog, Bubblegum, had twisted his stomach. Our regular vet, Dr Larry Taylor, made arrangements for us to go to T and C for emergency surgery.. How very blessed we were by that decision. Bubblegum was rushed into surgery with Dr Savannah Sheperd at the helm. Over the next few days Bubblegum received a blood transfusion and a plasma infusion. The situation was so dire that for the next five days we did not know if he would survive. Everyone loves their pets, but Bubblegum is my husband's Diabetic Alert Dog, so he is doubly precious to us. As we met and interacted with various other vets and staff members over the next 8 days we began to realize how truly blessed we were. Dr Sheperd came in on her days off to check on Bubblegum. Dr Tucker, Dr Baleigh and vet techs Brady and Shannon freely admitted to crawling into Bubblegums cubicle to hand feed him, stroke him and murmur soothing words to him. I truly believe without these small kindnesses that Bubblegum would not have survived. On August 15th we were able to bring Bubblegum home, all thanks to the wonderful people and services of Town and Country Vet Clinic in Christianburg, VA. Owned by Dr. Kaitlyn Burdette.

As an update: still no response from the Vet who saw our dog and he has kennel cough after spending 7 hours in this practice! We called them this morning and was told that they would have to call us back after they spoke to a vet. They wanted to see him - that would be a huge NOPE. This place is the absolute worst.

There are not many positive things that I can say about this clinic. They're expensive, they're brash and rude, and their wait times are ridiculous. I have heard horror story after horror story of the poor service and despicable medical care offered at this vet clinic. I recently dropped my dogs off for a bath. While they did come home fresh and clean, they also came back with something a little extra: Kennel Cough. Mind you reader, that both of my dogs are fully vaccinated. Additionally, my dogs have not socialized with any other dogs in approximately a month (i.e. going to the store or the park). With that being said, there is no way that they would have picked up this ailment from any other place but Town & Country. In addition to the kennel cough, my poor little golden retriever came home with a bloody toe after sloppily getting her nails trimmed. Her toe was bleeding sporadically throughout the night. If you need a bath/groom, go to Pet Smart or Petco. If you have a pet ER, go to the veterinary school. If you need routine vet care, go literally anywhere else. 0/10 recommend
